We contacted The Trailer Specialist a couple months ago and went to their site to check out a Big Tex 22GN Flatbed Trailer to purchase. Upon arrival a rather rude woman yelled towards us she was busy with another customer and would get to us next and to just look around until she could get with us. We replied "ok" and began walking the property to locate the trailer we were looking for. After an extended period of time ~20 min, we noticed other customers had arrived on the property and when we looked we noticed the sales woman had begun helping them. We made a comment that we were still waiting to be helped and she gave a big sigh and said, "yes, I know, I'll be with you when I can." She continued to assist the new customers that were arriving after us as we waited in the rain. Once she connected with us we found her to be incredibly rude and basically gave us no help, except to give us a price. We asked if any discounts were available and she said, "there was no room for discounts and they were a volume dealer so pretty much take it or leave it but maybe they could give us money for a sandwich." By the way, her name was Shondra - not sure of spelling as we didn't get a business card. We decided to think about the purchase as her attitude was a turn off so we needed to decide whether we wanted to spend the money at this company given the poor attitude of the saleswoman. On June 8, 2017 we decided we were ready to pull the trigger so we called, set up the financing over the phone and asked if they could have the trailer pulled out and ready to go. They said, "yes, no problem" and we agreed upon a time of 3pm. I arrived exactly at that time. We decided that sometimes people have bad days so hopefully we would be treated better this time around. We were told the process would take about 15 minutes when we arrived since we did all of the other work virtually. Well, this was not the case and the deal went from bad to worse within about 15 minutes instead. Upon our arrival we asked to see the trailer and noticed it wasn't pulled out and in fact had 2 large trailers on top of the trailer we purchased. I went ahead and signed all of the financial paper work and went back out to check the status of the trailer. As I began to review the trailer I found multiple cracks in the wood, wood alignment off, and overall poor quality of the wood on the trailer. I looked at one of the trailers that was on top of the trailer I had just purchased and those boards were flat, clean without large cracks or chunks which confirmed that the brand new trailer I had just purchased needed at least 3 boards to be replaced. The gentleman that was preparing the trailer for us to take said, "no problem about the replacement as that would be covered under warranty" so I said, "I'll need to have something in writing since this is a brand new trailer and it shouldn't be in this bad of condition." I would be ok with taking the trailer and bringing it back, but couldn't without written assurance that the bad wood would be replaced at no charge to me." I approached the sales woman, Shondra, who rudely stated something that led me to believe this was normal for Big Tex trailers to have poor quality wood. I had just looked at another trailer on their lot that was a 2011 model (different brand) that had some wood defects, but didn't expect to see similar in a brand new 2017 trailer. Shondra went into the office and asked a woman, who I later learned to be the owner's wife, Carol who told Shondra to call her husband with a few photos to see what they could do, but that he was busy preparing for Horse Expo, so she wasn't sure if he would be able to give her any answers. I was offended to hear this as we had already spent a couple hours working with Finance, driving all of the way to their location, signing a contract and left to stand waiting to hear back from the owner who was too busy to help a customer who spent over $12k on a trailer. As I stood in the office I approached Carol, who shared she was the owner, and asked her why she couldn't make a decision as we had done our part and needed to get answers to get going. She said, "well, Big Tex is in Texas and if she didn't have assurance they would reimburse her for the 3 boards, she wouldn't commit to replacing for me." I was appalled to hear this as she knew we had already done all the paperwork, seen the photos and was on the hone with her husband. I said, "Are you really going to kill a $12,000 deal over 3 boards that clearly are defective?" I had been told earlier that they were high volume so I really doubt Big Tex would not reimburse them for the damaged trailer. Carol said, " You seem angry" and I said, well of course I'm not happy you people have wasted my time and your sales person has been nothing but rude." I said, I'm done, cancel this contract so we can leave. I went to the Finance Rep, Alex, explained that I wasn't going to purchase a trailer with defects and she said ok I haven't processed your loan so you are good to go. I told her I needed something to show this since I had just completed signing all of the paperwork. She said, " well, ok, here is a print out showing you do not have a loan and again, the transaction was never processed." I took the paperwork and left. I immediately went online and we found the same trailer about 65 miles from our home and it was $1,000 less than I was charged at The Trailer Specialist. We explained that we wanted the trailer carefully inspected and if it has large cracks, uneven boards, etc., we were not interested. They immediately went out inspected it and said they were confident we would be happy. We asked if the finance company we were already approved with could be used and they said yes, so off we went to pick up our new trailer. It was ready to go as we drove into the parking lot, but guess what, the loan that Alex had confirmed 2 times had not been processed, actually was processed. The lender said, "I'm sorry, but you have a loan processed via The Trailer Specialist." Unbelievable, not only did the Trailer Specialist expect me to accept an inferior product, they also lied about the loan not being processed. Luckily the lender was nice enough to contact The Trailer Specialist to get this fiasco fixed, but of course, it was at our expense of wasted time again. I indicated YES for money paid because they charged me even though I didn't drive off with a trailer. Explanation above. I would not recommend anyone purchase or use the service department at this dealer.

This shop is over-rated and staffed by big ego mechanics.  They didn't like being questioned about their efforts to fix the problem.
They became snippy and smart-alecky as soon as I started asking questions. Kept the car 4 days just doing "tests". Never even tried to re-program the remote key until I insisted on it. I will NEVER take my car to this shop again. I will NOT recommend this shop to anyone. Arrogant staff and owner.
