Oren was very professional, honest, helpful and skilled in designing and remodeling our house completely. Oren’s knowledge and involvement in our project were much more than we thought and his ability to manage so many people at the same time while focusing on the perfection of the work, gave us a great picture of what type of company they are and what we will get at the end of the work. We want to thank Oren and everyone at his team for the wonderful help and work that they did at our house. We highly recommend them for anyone.

The project went extremely well. Dennis and his crew were prompt, courteous, and professional in all phases of the project. The quality of the workmanship was outstanding...we could not be happier. We are already planning our next project with Alameida and Son.

At first they were very eager to get my business. Replied back to me immediately. I had used Abbey Flooring in Livermore, and had great success. Abbey flooring was booked out, so I used The Floor Store. BIG MISTAKE! The flooring that was installed does not match my other floors. When I called to discuss it, the person who answered the phone told me Rachelle, (who was my sales person) was out for about a week, but she would most likely come by and look at the floor. I called a week later, Rachelle stated she did not receive the message and would not come out. She told me verbatim 'There is nothing we can do, the floor is installed.' I told her about the flooring not matching my other hardwood floors, and she said 'Oh, it probably needs to get some sun and oxidize, it will be fine.' I asked again if she could come out and look at the floor. She said no. But told me the box should have a code on it, and if not to let her know if it did not. I checked the box and told her the code (SKU) was not on the box. No action has been taken on her part. And so my situation sits. Boy was she eager to get my money, but not so eager to discuss this issue and AT LEAST come out and look at the flooring. I made a BIG MISTAKE. I should have stuck with Abbey flooring in Livermore. Their customer service and follow up is outstanding. The Floor Store simply does not care about this customer. I will NEVER use them again. STAY AWAY from the FLOOR STORE!

I had a coupon for $99 for 3 rooms of carpet cleaning. I scheduled the cleaning online and it required a minimum cleaning total of $132. Instead of paying the $33 minimum fee, I added a hall cleaning. When they arrived, they explained that they would not be able to clean the narrow hall because their machine was too big, so they just used a mop and didn't charge me. They also explained that in the future I should just call when they are running the special because they actually do not charge any minimum fee (seems like this is a corporate thing). I appreciated their honestly, and I wasn't too disappointed about the hall because I was really just trying to avoid the fee (the hall wasn't too dirty). They were very pleasant, quick and attended to any questions I had. Will be using them again.

My house was built in 1973 and the bathrooms were original. After having KL Construction remodel my kitchen and living room last year I knew I'd have them back tor the baths and bedrooms.  I got preliminary plans from my interior designer and cabinet maker; then walked Keith through the project to get a solid bid.  He was very accommodating of some changes I wanted after the first draft of the contract, and of the delay-of-start due to my cabinet maker's schedule.

Keith pays attention to details and ensures that his staff does quality work -- if not, he has them redo it at his cost. He doesn't ignore things waiting for me to find them.  If he needs my input he calls or texts (he's very good at answering texts and calls; a bit slower on emails.)   His crew is happy to work for him and you can tell that by the teasing and "thank you's" passed around on the job.

He has some GREAT sub-contractors who have very, very long term relationships with him because of the marvelous work that they do.  He also has a WONDERFUL cleaning crew that make the place (and windows) spotless despite the dust left behind from dry wall and wood working.  The bathroom tile work is STUNNING  and true craftsmanship. All the details (caulking around cabinetry, door adjustments, trim painting, alignments) are paid detailed attention.

Any remodeling project has it's ups and downs ( a bit too much dust; existing structures that require work arounds), but I very much like working with Keith.  I find him easy to talk to; calm and straight-forward, and we both appreciate quality workmanship.  He's willing to 'walk me through the job or options' and consider alternatives if  specific design element won't implement well during the build.

I found him on Angie's list to start with; had him do a few small jobs to see how we got along and how compatible our work styles were. I like the fact that he lives in the local area so if something goes wrong or I need his attention he's willing to drop by that evening or early morning before I leave for work.   I've been very, very pleased.

I really dislike writing a negative review. I tend to think the best of people and businesses, but I feel that I should share my experience, so that others don't get stuck wasting time. Here's what happened:
I contacted them (and a few other companies) through Angie's list in early July. I was hoping to have flooring work done in late August. They scheduled a guy to come out and evaluate our space and work within a few days of my e-mail. The guy came and he was great! He actually told us that they could do far more than what we thought they could and that they would be able to tile our backsplash and install baseboards throughout our house in addition to re-doing our floors in two rooms. We were very excited, because having one team do everything would have been great. The guy left and promised a quote in a few days. A week went by and we didn't get anything, so we called. The person who answered the phone was apologetic and said someone would get back to us. No one got back to us. Another week went by and we called again -- same story, "we're so sorry, we'll get that to you right away." Then another two weeks went by and we didn't hear anything, so we called yet again. I e-mailed through angle's list again at the end of August and received an apologetic e-mail and was told I'd hear back by the end of the day, which I didn't. I've sent two more e-mails asking about the status of the quote and now no one is replying.
At this point we will probably just go with multiple contractors to complete our different tasks. I'm really disappointed, because we loved the guy who did the evaluation and were very ready to go with Knight's given that we thought they could really do a lot for us.
I write this review to say that I think they are probably too busy to handle their client load and if you are considering new floors I would skip them.

    Our experience:

We chose him out of 6 general contractors.  All which we found on Angie's list!

I called and left a message asking to set up an appointment for a quote.  Dennis called the next day to schedule the appointment.  He showed up on time for the quote.  He stated he would get back to us in 4-5 days with the quote.  We had the quote via email 2 days later. Contract gave a time frame for the project and was very clear & straight to the point in a professional layout.   He arrived a week prior to scheduled start date to get final measurements and find out exactly what styles we wanted for the work being done.  He was upfront about his dislike for painting.  He offered painters we could use or just do it ourselves.  We chose to do it ourselves & he gave us suggestions to make it an easier process.  So he dropped off the material in advance so we could paint it.  He offered us a discounted rate to avoid some extra tedious work (no pressure. it was our choice to accept....which we did.).   It was a 4 day project. He arrived everyday on time.  He was very clean in laying down a cloth rag on our new wooden floors and using his shop vac in the areas that he was working.  At the end of the job he hauled away some extra junk since he was going to the dump anyway.

Reasons why I will recommend him:

    1. His license is valid & active!!! (this was the tie breaker when we were stuck between him and another contractor with a $200 difference in price)

    2. He was very true to his word & very professional.  (He was the only one we didn't have to call and remind about getting the quote. Others took as long as 2 weeks after 2 calls to get the quote. One we still haven't heard back from.)

    3. Great reasonable prices

    4. He was punctual! When you have an 8month old and want to try to plan the days around the construction it helps when you are punctual.

    5. Clean & neat.  He used a cloth on our floors & a shop vac when he was done each day!

    6. I love how it turned out! The doors & base boards need some touch up paint from being installed, but we expected that and have no problem taking care of that. Exhaust fan is great!

It all turned out wonderful!  We plan to use him again for other projects as they come along.

New flooring selection, quoting and scheduling went very fast and smooth.  RJ was quite helpful and their schedule was flexible for what we needed.   A few days after scheduling the job and bout a week before the job, we were notified that the material was not available and were given the option to reschedule or pick an alternative material.  We were able to find a cheaper material that we liked that was in stock.  The install team arrived on time and began work quickly.   They were efficient and attentive to issues as they arose.   They finished in the estimated amount of time and did an okay job of cleanup.   I had to clean up the floors adjacent to the area where work was done as they did not vacuum up around there work area.   Not a big deal.

We are happy with our floor and would utilize the services of Carpet One Livermore again.
