    Hands On Painting Inc.
The amount of prep required on this older home was insane and I didn't think the house could ever look so good! The employees were on time, professional in appearance and always cleaned up at the end of each work day. Armando went above and beyond to make sure I was completely satisfied and even came back a few weeks later to touch up a small area that I wanted changed. The pricing was very competitive and feel that it was a great value for the work provided. I would definitely use their services again.

Nick was great to work with, he was very knowledgeable and provided great info. His team was great, they were all very hard workers and kept us in the loop with what the needed to do. They were always punctual and cleaned up after their job. Very impressed.

    O'Malley Construction Co
I had O'Malley Construction Co out to do a critical rafter tail repair on my Craftsman historic home in NELA. All I can say is "Wow!" I could not tell which of the rafter tails was broken after he was done with the job. It was that good. A dumpster truck seriously damaged the rafter tail and broke it in a way that I thought would need a new one and cost me tons. Randy O'Malley did a superb surgical repair and made use of the original wood. This was a cost effective fix and done saving the integrity of the original home. I'm always impressed by Randy's skill and professionalism as well as meeting me on my budget. Thank you again Randy for doing a great job!

We had the pleasure of working with Asaf to convert a spare bedroom into a walk-in closet and could not be happier, not only with the result, but with the process along the way.

We immediately were comfortable with him the moment we met, and that feeling has not changed a bit. We threw a couple of curveballs his way and he absorbed them like they were part of the plan from the beginning. We never had to tell him anything twice, and when he had questions about anything, they were  great questions!

He definitely understood our overarching goal, and it was easy to trust him and his team to use their expertise to get us there. Asaf always kept us looped in to what was going on, and anytime we had any kind of question he was always quick with an answer.

Again, the results of he and his team's hard work are flawless, and we couldn't be more thrilled.

We're already planning our next project, and there's no question Asaf will be leading the way once again.

    Clif Jones Painting Company
Our house needed an exterior paint job desperately.  We needed some wood replaced around windows, sills and deck railing.  The job included intensive sanding, primer and two coats.  It required some creative scaffolding. A lot of time was spent up high on ladders.  Marco and his crew were meticulous. They cleaned up at the end of each day.  Clif was responsive to our concerns and worked with us to get samples so we could pick the right color.  We were told the job would take two weeks and it was two weeks to the dot.  There were no sudden add-ons. No one tried to sell us anything we didn't need.  The house looks beautiful.  These guys are true pros who clearly take pride in their work.  The job actually came in a bit under budget - to our surprise.  I highly recommend them.

    Caage Fence
All the posts are very firmly placed, the wire well stretched, it's all a very permanent installation. Feels very secure. He got to it and got it done quickly. Nice fellas all the way around, Unfortunately did not honor my request not to communicate with a very hostile neighbor but no biggie.
Best price I could find and best work. You won't be sorry. Milton is a great guy and very conscientious. He gave me good advice on further fencing. You feel like you've got a friend working for you.

Tito Alcaraz Painting & Repair Specialist
The quoting process was excellent.  He made recommendation of what he would like to do.  Everything was positive.  I hired him because of his demeanor and professionalism.  I got the best vibe from him.  He's been in the business for twelve years.  I also consider him because of Angie's List, he was considered an "A' and everything was positive.  I hired him right away.  I felt good with his quotes.  So far the experience has been excellent.

    Homefront Build
My experience with Home Front and Steve Pallrand have been dramatically positive and I
unconditionally recommend this company to anyone looking for quality work delivered on
budget by expert craftspeople who are pleasant to have around.
They specialize in historic homes (like ours) but are by no means limited to old houses --
their real specialization is in customizing the work to fit the house no matter its age or
    style.
Unlike most licensed contractors who approach construction
and home restoration from a builders perspective alone, Steve is a licensed
contractor, was a production designer for Hollywood, and comes from an
art-and-architecture background. He holds degrees in the History of Art and
Architecture as well as being awarded scholarships for study in architectural
history and preservation. In other words, Steve is a skilled and talented
builder, an experienced designer, and an architectural historian who genuinely
appreciates the historic nature of our homes.
Steve founded his company, Home Front Build as a design-and-build
firm over a dozen years ago (in 2001). His staff of twenty-five skilled craftspeople and one
architect can address most any need: from stone masonry to design, from window
rehabilitation to exterior hardscape, from plaster to paint. For most builders,
this would be a very large crew indeed and a huge array of skills, but Steve is
committed to each member of his crewfrom the most highly skilled finish
carpenter to the most affordable laborer. By assuring his crew employment they
remain committed to Home Front Build as well, and Steve is assured of continued
quality of craftspersonship from each member of his crew.
At every point, Steve and his crew understood the value of historic
materials used when our home was newwhether thats redwood shingles, interior
and exterior finishes or lathe and plasterand were prepared to work with those
materials, fabricating on site what was not commercially available. This assured that
make sure that any addition, remodel or repair done would be compatible with
what is already there so the final product was seamless and not a modern intrusion.
Significantly, Steve worked with us to match our desires for an to restore our house
(which needed truly significant work!) to the realities of our budget. Before construction
started Steve planned the project budget carefully with us, and then searched for genuine
cost savings that he passed along to us so that we could achieve more with less expenditure.
At each stage of the process (and each week as construction on our house progressed) Steve
presented progress reports that detailed where we stood in the process,
noting exactly how much had been spent, how much had been budgeted, and what percentage
of the work had been completed.
Perhaps most important, because Steves budget was so carefully planned, our project did
not go over budget: he stayed on or under the budget agreed to. This may sound radical,
and it is: Steve sees himself as a money manager who is there to make sure that his client
    can complete the job on or under budget (not get as much money out of a client as possible);
when you work with Steve as we did, design and budget go hand-in-handyoull have no
check-book surprises that leave you with a house unfinished; instead hell deliver a completed
project on budget, as agreed upon in advance.
In addition to counting on Steve for accurate budgeting, you
can count on him and his whole crew not only just for their excellent
craftspersonship and genuine skills, but also for their thoughtfulness, care,
and personability. Theyre cheerful and always appropriate, friendly and never
intrusivethe kinds of men you feel comfortable having on your property and
inside your home (and I say this as a woman often home alone). They clean up
the job site (your home!) at the end of every daythey genuinely care about your
experiences with your home while theyre restoring it, and they take
care to make sure youre happy with their work, and happy having them
    around.
Check out his work on PBSs This Old House (where he restored a
Spanish Colonial Revival home) or drive by some of the homes hes
restoredVictorian, Craftsman, Spanish Colonial Revival, mid-century
modernSteve is experienced with southern Californias built landscape and
musters his background in art-and-architectural history combined with his
experience as a journeyman and contractor to make your home magnificent, on
    budget.
If you've taken the time to read to the bottom of this long review, let me say again
that I recommend Home Front most highly and with absolutely no reservations
to anyone considering doing work on their (historic) home.

    B & J Plastering
Brad seemed very sincere and knowledgeable about his trade. He examined the job and concluded he would not make the repairs to the stucco because he felt that the cracks would return. He gave reasons why
the stucco was cracking and explained how water causes discoloration in the stucco.  I was disappointed that he chose not to take the job. A lot of Angie's list member write great reviews about Brad's services. I just assume the job and the type repairs I needed must be different from that of other members. Furthermore, they type of repairs I needed are not the type Brad was willing to tackle.

I recently purchased a house and was very happy with everything except the backyard; there was a sagging chain link fence which gave me no privacy.  I called Stefan on a Saturday and he came out that same day to look over the work.  He emailed me a very detailed estimate, which he then revised in writing, at my request, when I decided to include gates at both ends of the fence.  The gates are fantastically designed and constructed, and was a very good value - originally I was going to extend the fence all the way behind my garage, but with that second gate, I have even more privacy.  Stefan spent a good amount of time with me discussing my options.  I decided to have the framing on my side and I am glad that I did, as it actually adds more character and is more aesthetically pleasing. Also, Jose (Stefan's co-worker) is an absolute diamond!  They were very thorough and professional.  I believe they are as happy with the outcome as am I.
