    Top Shelf Delivery and Moving
Caryn, the contact person, is terrific. The quote was reasonable and did not change. I had no idea about the excellence of their services until I had to change the delivery schedule at the last minute and they were completely flexible (although don't do like me -- keep your scheduled delivery date and time and spare Caryn's sanity). The best part was the two young men who moved the furniture inside my house. They could not have been more courteous, attentive, capable, or careful with my pieces. Every minute I was around them, it seemed clear that their goal was total customer satisfaction. In fact, they offered to do some extra set up of the pieces at no extra charge. Caryn just added their listing to Angie's at my insistence. I love to see a solid company rewarded. They do moving from San Diego up through Los Angeles, and, as I said, are willing to move one or two pieces at a very reasonable cost. Call all the companies you want (like I did), but you won't find one with better services than this one.

    Top Shelf Delivery and Moving
I had a second moving/delivery need and so I called Caryn and the delivery went just as smoothly as before but the circumstances were far, far more difficult.  Top Shelf employees are this side of sainthood for me.  I purchased a large computer armoire in Orange County.  They picked up the piece in Mission Viejo, then delivered it to my home.  The bottom section went into my office, no problem, but then the top half (this thing is huge) would not go in through the hallway door.  Without missing a beat (I swear!) Joe said, "well, we'll just have to take it in through the window."  And with that he started dismantling the window!  It wasn't just a matter of lifting out one half of the window section; he had to remove the glass from the weatherstripping.  Suffice to say that the process was complicated, but taken on without hesitation and done to perfection, and without charge!  Again, I don't know what is better:  the quality of the service, the price, or the helpful attitude of the workers.  Use this company!  The really are great!

    Whytes Antiques & Upholstery
They have a huge amount of upholstery samples and the staff is knowledgeable. One woman helped me pick out a fabric that was historically appropriate which I would not have known about. I have a 150 year-old trunk that they cleaned up and put a protective coating on so it is nice but they didn’t make it look brand new which is what I was looking for. Most of the furniture came back quickly but the trunk must have been put on the back burner because it took more time and I kept having to bug them.

    Bellini’s Antique Italia
I've shopped here repeatedly over the years and would recommend it to anyone. Owner Jacopo is an honest dealer and provides a tremendous service. I've bought furniture and a chandelier at this store and couldn't be happier -

    Rare Bird Consignment House
Eighteen months ago we began shopping at consignment shops throughout the San Diego area to find old good quality and/or antique furniture for our home that we just moved into as new city residents. It wasn't long before we found the Rare Bird Consignment House in the Mission Hills district.  We have been shopping at Rare Bird for a year now; it has become the only consignment establishment we shop at in the San Diego area.  No other consignment shop compares to Rare Bird; in quality, price, cleanliness, and variety of "good" items offered.  Rare Bird's prices are very reasonable.  They say that "One man's junk is another man's treasure."  The only difference is that at the Rare Bird there is no junk!  The house is filled with good quality items from the smallest item to the large pieces of furniture.  If Rare Bird doesn't have what you're looking for; just wait, they eventually will.  We have been looking for an all white sofa.  It finally arrived at Rare Bird and we snatched it up quickly.  All items at Rare Bird are priced to sell.  If you find an item you like but want to think about it before buying, don't think too long because it will be gone before you know it.  In the last 18 months, we have furnished an entire guest bedroom and have purchased several pieces throughout our home whether our needs are inside or outside the house.  In addition, Rare Bird has access to an excellent moving company.  CR Hauling has very affordable rates and handles your items with great care!  You won't be disappointed at the Rare Bird Consignment House!

    Rare Bird Consignment House
Rare Bird has a variety of old or antique furniture, lamps, and small things.   Having moved to San Diego a year, we need additional furniture and other items for our new home.  We have been to a number of consignment/antique shops in the area but found Rare Bird to have the highest quality items for a very reasonable price.  We have purchased a number of items from tables, night stands, formal chairs to regular sitting chairs, lamps; items for outside or inside.  This consignment shops has no junk.  Rather they have good quality furniture that is in great condition for a reasonable price.  Having compared prices among other consignment shops, we find Rare Bird to be the most reasonable.  We don't go to any other consignments any more.  There simply is no need.  We visit often and most of the time end up buying something that adds value to our home both in appearance and quality.  Yesterday we picked up two night tables with three drawer each; solid wood, well built with hardly a scratch for $514 for the pair.  To buy the same items new in a store would have cost two to three times more.  You really should check out this shop!

    Steve's Wood Studio
You can tell from the jobs in his workshop that Steve has a reputation for fine quality workmanship.  I feel grateful to Amy's List for leading us to him since work on antiques can be tricky.  Steve's pricing was very fair and the quality of the work was top notch.

    Kasnak Restorations
Bob was a delight to work with. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all things related to antiques (and more). He finished the project on time and was very informative about each piece. He found several details that we found very interesting and valuable. He also provided us with appraisal and photos of all of the work. I would recommend this company.

    Whytes Antiques & Upholstery
Richard made a few trips to my house to pickup my huge furniture pieces and take them to his shop. This schedule worked perfect for me. When he brought my repaired antiques back I was stunned with the beauty of his work! One cabinet never had a key to lock the doors. When Richard returned with that piece he surprised me with a key! I love being able to secure the cabinet door closed now. Another cabinet had a piece of the decorative carvings (maple wood) missing during one of my military moves. Richard crafted a replacement piece and you can't tell it isn't original. It also suffered from a major crack because the wood was drying out. Richard was able to repair it without filling the crack--he brought the wood pieces back together! There was another expense (not antique) end table that suffered from something falling on it during the last move. Richard was able to make it look 99% new again. The 1% issue was outside his control due to the heavy damage. Richard is prompt, professional, and fair! I trust him with my valuable antiques and have asked him to help out (soon) with additional work because he is so good and honest.

    Pacific Crest Interiors
My sister and I wanted to find an interior designer for our new salon. We found Christian through a referral. We felt so fortunate to be able to work with Christian after the first consultation. He is very hard working and is brutally honest. He pointed out the good things we had going and helped us weeeeen out a lot of bad ideas. He was able to cater to our tight budget but manage to get the design we felt was best. He has great insight on styles and what’s trending in an out. Gosh, I have a headache thinking about paint colors… Christian helped us with not only the design but also picking out the paint color, shopping for our furniture (which he has his own furniture gallery at his office which pretty much covered it all)... Eventhough our salon won't open for another few months. I already can picture how nice it will look. I would highly recommend Christian to anyone who needs help with their interior designs no matter how big or small you may think it is…
