    Horizon Construction & Remodeling Inc
(Written about 3.5 months after job completion) I must admit that we were highly cautious with our next bathroom remodel hire. Reason being was a previous contractor abandoned our master bathroom remodel after attempts to have them address valid concerns. That other contractor's license was eventually suspended after multiple consumer complaints were filed. Thankfully, working with Horizon Construction and Remodeling Inc on addressing a previous contractor's mess ups and then completing a redo of another bathroom in our home was a much better experience. The new remodel job that was Horizon's from start to finish was completed in a timely manner. With our older house, there were issues uncovered after the demo process that were not too much of a surprise. The issue extended our timeline and did add somewhat minor costs to the job. When questions or concerns were raised, Mike Roppo, our project leader, was responsive to address issues and provide explanations before the job moved forward. I could not give Horizon straight A ratings because of some of the worksite conditions at the end of a couple jobs. For example, white residue was left on our hedges and some of our walkway from workers mixing materials - possibly grout. Also, workers left cigarette butts in our newly installed small rocks landscaping that couldn't just get swept out easily. Workers did clean up nicely for all interior jobs. Finally, after completion of both bathrooms, two more events occurred. First, Horizon came out and made repairs that surfaced, like settling cracks in the grout for example. This was part of their contract, but it was done in a timely fashion. Second, Horizon was helpful with our complaint to the contractor license board by providing a statement of the condition of the bathroom remodel that was abandoned. Overall, we would include Horizon on our list of contractors to work with again.

    Ford's Plumbing and Heating
This was an interesting experience, and my irritation mainly lies with the pricing. Here are all the facts: - Allie called to say someone could come out the same day (terrific!). I told her I needed a 30 minute lead time. - I was given a 15 min. lead time. They tried calling me, but I was on a call that I couldn't hang up from. - I met the technician almost exactly 30 minutes after they first tried to call me. However, both Ally and the technician showed signs of being upset. - Technician quickly transitioned into a friendly guy, but his response to my issue was confusing. First, he told me he was a plumber and knew nothing about appliances. I kept wondering why they even sent someone if they didn't have any expertise. - The technician talked through options with me to move my gas line about 2 feet down the wall. He quoted me $955 to do what I knew would take less than an hour. Who makes that kind of money? I immediately knew he was trying to take advantage of me. - After I stopped laughing at such an insane price, I asked him how much to leave the line where it is and just get the new, correctly sized valve on the line so I could use my much newer model stove. - He quoted me $260 which I knew was still high. Although, what could I do? He was in my home ready to fix it. A handyman would have charged me $20 to do what he did. - Fifteen minutes (if that) later, the job was done. This company made $260 in 15 minutes!!!!! Also, please note I already had the part (the correct size valve). No material cost and they didn't guarantee their work because it was my part and not theirs. Who in the world makes that kind of money? When the guy left, I stewed over the lack of humanity out there. Ford's Plumbing took full advantage of me to make a couple extra bucks. I wish the world were a better place where people cared about each other. This company was a prime example of greed.

    Up To Code Plumbing
I first called & was given the earliest appointment. I was told if an opening/cancellation became available that I would be called. I had been without hot water for two days. I also had a family member that was sick and needed hot water. I received a call the next day and was scheduled for a tech to come! He arrived and it was discovered I needed a new water heater. Eduardo was his name. He came back in a couple days and installed a new heater. The company was ready to do business the next day but I needed money for items not under warranty. I both highly commend and recommend Eduardo and Up To Code for ANY future jobs! I liked the fact that Eduardo explained everything and gave me pointers on both visits. He was fast and very efficient. I am proud to be a lifelong South Bay resident and have this company in my area!

    West Coast Plumbing
I called West Coast Plumbing for service on a sink and toilets at my residence. Within a day Lorenzo returned my call and set up an appointment to diagnose the problems I was encountering. He showed up on time and had each of my issues resolved within an hour at an incredibly fair price. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone in the area who wants swift, efficient service at a great price.

    Hi-Performance Plumbing
went very well. I would definitely call Stephen again. In case I did not write a review back in 2009 the same bathroom that Stephen came out and installed a new wax ring was undergoing a complete renovation. toilet was moved shower was completely renovated . As the contractor who was configuring the new hot water piping for the new shower he mixed up the hot and cold water pipes. That caused our water heater to not work well. cold water was messing up the hot water heater. Stephen installed a new water heater and then noticed the piping was incorrect. Stephen even came back to our house to double check he even got on the phone to say that we did not need a new water heater and already discarded our old one. Meaning we paid for a water heater we did not need at that time and that the plumber was at fault. Bottom line home depot reimbursed me $1000.00 for the new water heater. Stephen is very honest and will tell you what you need nothing more. I will definatley call him again. If you live in the southbay area call Stephen he will take care of you.

    Tony's Plumbing, Inc.
In the past we have always relied on Mark of Tony's Plumbing and we are always happy with him and his work.  This visit was no different except he had a delightful young man with him that seemed to be learning some of Mark's amazing plumbing skills .  As long as Tony's Plumbing has Mark, We will ALWAYS go with this company.  Folks, if they are booked and you can wait, the service you get is worth the wait.  In addition to Mark, the girl I spoke to on the phone was a pleasure to my ears.  She let me know where Mark was with his schedule, when he was on his way and how close he was so that I could be at the door when he got there.  Tony and Karen are fiercely proud of their company and they have good reason to be.

Patriot Plumbing-Leak Detection & Drain Clean Pros
I had a 27 year old water heater break the other day, I searched Angieslist for a plumber in my area with good reviews. I chose Patriot Plumbing based on the reviews of the previous customers posted on here. They certainly lived up to those reviews. My initial phone contact was very professional and was very informative and understanding that we needed to have the water heater replaced on Saturday. They accommodated my requests and asked me to text them pictures of the water heater and its installation so that they could have an idea of the situation before they got here. Mark contacted me later that evening after he saw the pictures and said that he could be out on Sat. morning between 8 and 8:30. He arrived as promised, evaluated the water heater and answered all my questions about the different types of water heaters that I could have installed (tankless, high efficiency). In the end I opted to get a standard Bradford White 40 gallon unit to replace the old one. The installation was neat and clean and everything is now up to code. I highly recommend Mark and Patriot Plumbing. I will certainly use them for any future plumbing needs.

Rooter Alert Plumbers & Sewer Contractors
These folks are okay.  We had a traditional "leaky sink" problem, and they sent out a couple of guys to diagnose it.  They pointed out some pretty obvious wear-and-tear, and so we agreed to install a new faucet and garbage disposal.  I would supply the parts, and they'd do the installation.
The tech that came out was prompt and did a fast, good job.  The new faucet and garbage disposal work great, and hey - the leaks gone!
I'd definitely use these folks again.  I feel that their price was fine.  Also, worth pointing out - free quotes.  This isn't one of those terrible companies that try to force fees on you just for telling you that something is broken.  Give them a shot.

    Tony's Plumbing, Inc.
Working with Tony's Plumbing was great.  Not only were they the most economical of the quotes that we received for a complete home plumbing redo, but they were super professional, accomodating, and did great work.  We had to reschedule our plumbing work easily 5 or 6 times due to a delay in our renovation, and Karen in the office was totally accommodating each and every time.  When we were finally ready, they fit us in aok.  The guys that did the work were nice, professional, and clearly knowledgeable.  We have exacting standards for the work done in our home, and had zero complaints about the work that they did.  They were also accommodating when we requested minor alterations, running a gas line to the ceiling for a future furnace upon request.  Would not hesitate to have them back to complete the remainder of the work on our house when we're ready, and have no hesitation recommending these folks!
