    It was fabulous.  They did a great job.  There was just one tiny little bubble I wouldn't have like to have seen them do.  They put in a new thermostat, which I love, I can control it with my thumb.  I can be upstairs and turn the AC on.  But the wiring to where the old thermostat was wasn't quite capable of having the new thermostat which could've controlled more stuff like the 2 stage and so on.  It wasn't adequate.  They could of fished the wire through but they didn't want to do it but that wall has a mirror backing.  I think they should have done it. I heard the objections but I didn't insist because I thought if I insist they are sure, just because this is the way things go, they will crack the mirror anyway.  I think they could of done it if they were careful enough.  I had a feeling their price could've been better but on the other hand, they're reliable, honest and have great guarantees and stuff. They do have a warranty, no questions asked, if you don't like it, we'll pick it up.  But I'm thinking, if they did that, where would this get them? They hauled my old furnace off long ago.  Definitely an A on professionalism.  I would use them again, in fact, that's how I knew about them.  Every year they've had this $19 coupon thing where they come out and service your AC and your gas furnace.  I used that a few years in a row and I really liked that they'd say, "your furnace is getting a little old, you should probably think about replacing it".  But they were not at all salesy, pushy, have to replace it now. So when it started making alarming noises, they were the ones I called.  2 workers came to install the unit.

    There was no charge.? That was under the warranty.? They're awesome.? They did charge me for a new filter because it needed one.? I thought I'd go ahead and have them replace it because they were here. I was kind-of hoping that it would be included, but it wasn't. That's their standard practice.? It would be nice if it was part of that free final test, check-up, whatever, that they did a free filter.? I will also be taking advantage of their $19 check-up every year.? They also have a thing you can pay $15 a month and that includes all check-ups and stuff and if you have a repair, you get a discount.

    The work was done by a professional, polite crew on April 15, 2017. They worked hard and cleaned up after the installation. However, I was initially quoted $6000 and told that it wouldn't be more than that. The day of installation, I was told the cost would be a couple hundred dollars more since they had to do additional electrical work and buy additional materials. When I got the invoice at the end of the day, it was $1500 more, not a couple hundred. The total amount for this project turned out to be $7500. The following week I contacted Cal State HVAC and requested a copy of the receipt for additional materials that had to be purchased to complete the installation. I was told that I would be sent a copy of the receipt. A week or so later I was contacted by Cal State HVAC and told that I would be issued a $300 refund. As of June 27, 2017, I still have not received a copy of the receipt or the promised refund.

    The person that came out, found out what the problem was. It was actually a spiderweb that had gotten into some intake thing, that had blocked it. He cleaned it all out and it was a minimal charge and yay, it all worked out. I was extremely pleased because they found something that was stopping my service, but it was minor and they corrected. And I not knowing any better, they could have charged me quite a bit more for a part because I had no idea what the problem was, so I'm just really pleased. I seem to remember that it was really reasonable and I felt quite relieve. So I say, it must have been reasonable. I can't say what it was at this time. I don't recall feeling that I got gouged. The guy was really nice. I remember that much. I don't remember his name. I didn't write that.

    Israel was early and did a thorough inspection. He charged by the vent and mentioned some other items that needed cleaning but didn't try to upsell. I felt the price was fair considering the ducts probably hadn't been cleaned in 20 years.

    When I made the appointment I told them that my husband and I would not be home but that my mother would be there and she lives with us 2 days a week. I got a call from the home office saying that they were told by the tech that they went to the home but no one was there other than a tenant. I told the office that, that can't be the case since I specifically told my mom about the appointment and she was waiting for them. I of course immediately called my mother and asked what happened. She told me the guy came, looked around, gave a quote for $8K for a unit that is being fazed out because it is becoming obsolete and doesn't meet FDA standards....you want to charge me $8K for a unit that isn't even energy efficient? On top of that the tech clearly lied to his home office saying no one was there. We will not be using this vendor in the future and I would say, definitely not a diamond certified company if the techs are lying and lacking integrity.

    Stouts was precise and to the point. All my questions were answered and they never left me guessing as to what was going to happen. Fred came in and looked at the furnace and he was such a pleasant man and explained things in a way I could understand. Then when Dan came to change out the furnace and told me exactly how it would go with an approximate time frame. He was in and out and it didn't even look like he was here. Very clean and very professional company!
