  • In 2008 I began to have problems with pain in my left jaw area. It was affecting my life in a drastic way. I was always tired and in pain. My regular dentist was not able to provide treatment that was effective, Even after changing dentists and involving my medical doctor I was not getting better. In February of 2009 I saw Dr Kaminishi for the first time. He has continued to treat me as needed during the past three years that this problem has continued. Since that time and continuing to date, I have had more dental surgery to try to find and correct the problem. Recently, Dr. Kaminishi ordered a nuclear bone scan to check for infection in the bone. Although, the radiologist who looked at the results said that there was no bone infection, Dr Kaminishi requested copies of the films. He said he looked for different things. Using the film, he saw infection above my front teeth and we scheduled surgery. What he found was mushy, black bone. He treated that and so far I feel much better.
Dr. Kaminishi is the type of doctor that is all too rare. His motto is and quot; I never give upand quot;. He listens to his patients and is not one to ignore what his patients tell him. He is also determined to help you and will use all of his skills and experience to do that.

  • The dentists and hygienists are very good and always do an excellent job. But their appointment system is ridiculous -- you can't schedule six months ahead for that cleaning you need every six months. They will only schedule four months ahead, so they give you a sticker to put on your calendar so you can call two months later and not during your lunch hour -- they're closed. Don't expect immediate help if your child is in pain. I was told I could bring my child in if she was in pain, which I did, but they only looked at her. Their treatment appointments were all taken and there wasn't one for two weeks. I paid out of pocket to take her to another dentist and, fortunately, it turned out not to be a major problem. I don't know if that factored into the availability of a treatment appointment. And then there's their billing. They sent me a bill for my son's oral surgery that included $406 in charges that Delta had already said it would pay. When I asked about this, Lakewood said the insurance hadn't paid yet because it takes four to six weeks. Why wasn't a note about this attached to the bill? Because, I was told, they weren't allowed to attach anything. It wasn't in their billing program. Again, the people who do the actual work are great. Just be prepared for some annoyances.

  • This dentist is skilled and at the same time, his personality is so easy going that you can't be tense! Dr. Mangigian is gentle, explains what needs to be done, never tries to push extra work, and makes me very comfortable while he's working. His staff is very friendly and helpful. They've helped with my insurance, scheduled around my hours, and always have a smile.
