Stonesmith looked at our project and figured out a much less expensive way to do it with quartz that was just the color we wanted, and did the work on time with a great deal of professionalism.   • Everyone associated with this project acted with professionalism and courtesy. Ted guided me through the selection of cabinets and took me shopping for the tile, the plumbing fixtures, and the granite vanity top. Before the job started I knew what the schedules would be and as the job progressed I was kept informed regarding the type of work to be completed that day. If Tony or Ted weren't onsite on a particular day, which was rare, they called at the end of the day to check in. Tony was often here during the day with his crew as they finished a particular component of the job. Jennifer recommended paint colors for the bathroom and master bedroom which turned out to be the perfect color choices. I can readily recommend Verity and would use them again.

    They were so kind, and worked around 2 other contractors who kept taking vacation while I lived in my spare room.
    They came on Saturdays to keep it going, and they worked hard !
    The end result was so beautiful !!! I have 3 homes that I have done construction in, and they were by far the best contractors
    I have had the pleasure to work with.
    I would use them again in a heartbeat !

  • I decided to go ahead and give this review, because like the other person who was also given the run around. It is just unacceptable in today's day and age.
    My husband and I also own a business. We are burning the candle at both ends. I also home school two high achieving children.
    We have 3 homes, and have built two of them in 95 (UT) and 2003 from the ground up. We have dealt with a lot of contractors and NOT ONCE has this ever happened, except for that Builders direct place that is now OUT OF BUSINESS.
    My husband and I delegate jobs to one another. I ( the woman) am in charge of this remodel.  I also called Horizon, because of the reviews here on Angie's list.  Enna also told me they would not come here without us being here together. I told her that I could not guarantee my husband would be here. She went through all the days of the week and different times...etc. BUT again I told her that my husband is a VERY busy physician. He could be here, or he may not. She just couldn't believe that he doesn't come home. Well he does, I just can't tell you when that will be. He delivers babies and ...well. They come when they want.
    My husband works when we are in town (the reason for the other homes). He feels he should be there for his patients if he's in town. Well obviously Enna didn't experience that type of dedication in her physician. After arguing with her for 30 minutes, she told me she would discuss it with her husband and let me know. I never heard back from her.
    Now mind you...I told her I would have my husband sign off on ALL work orders (thinking it was about contracts and money). NOPE.
    This company has a serious issue with women. I know it's their "policy", but it;s wrong. In today's busy world couples have enough stress then having to deal with sexist companies. As I stated above,  I told her I would have my husband SIGN all work orders and contracts so this isn't about getting paid. 
    It's just WRONG !  It's your choice as a business owner to have this policy, but it's WRONG putting additional stress on couples who have large projects like this one.

  • After many years of procrastination in updating our kitchen, my husband and I decided it was time to do so. Angie's List sent an offer for Kitchen Demolition and Remodeling including Labor and Materials through Skyline Construction Company as a Big Deal and we purchased the Big Deal in October, 2011 for $9,999.00. Not long after purchasing the Big Deal we received a phone call from Eric Saida. We arranged an appointment time that was convenient for all and Eric arrived promptly on that day and the plans were made. We told Eric what were wanting to see done in the kitchen which was to update the entire room, in addition to adding laminate flooring in the kitchen, laundry, and dining rooms.
    Eric went into the kitchen and immediately shared ideas and recommendations like moving the refrigerator to the opposite end of the kitchen and moving the stove thus giving the illusion of a bigger kitchen, in addition he showed us samples of cabinetry, floors, and granite to choose from and described features of the cabinetry like soft-close drawers, pull-out shelves, and spice rack as suggestions to include in the design. He also suggested using a microwave hood rather than a standard exhaust hood, thus allowing for more counter space. We explained we didn't want to begin any demolition until after the holidays and we made a follow-up appointment in January. Eric gave us an estimated price for completion of the remodel deducting the price of the Big Deal. Prior to drafting the contract Eric described the overall process in detail as to the length of each stage in the process, what would happen and who would be doing the work. We did have  three questions we needed answered before we could go forward. One (1) what was the estimated time frame from beginning to end of the job. Two (2) what would cause the job to take longer. And three (3) what would cause the price to be more than estimated. Eric said the job would take five weeks and would only take longer if we could not make the house available to them. The price would only increase if they ran into something that neither of us could foresee, i.e., cracked drains, or holes in the floor. We also requested that we be notified the day prior as to what time they would arrive and what was being done that day. Eric agreed to provide us that information the day before and the contract was drafted and signed. The contract included a detailed description of the job including price allowances for each of the new appliances we were including in the remodel and price breakdown for the overall project. We settled on a start date and Eric assured us we could call at anytime to ask questions that we may have forgotten during the appointment.
    Eric called us at the end of January, we met with him and Moses and they took measurements reconfirmed the design and said the demolition would be begin the following week. Before Skyline could get started with the demolition however, we had to ask for an additional two days to clear out the drawers and cabinets, and Eric was more than accommodating. The job began on a Wednesday and it proceeded as Eric had described to us in our first meeting. We did have an unforeseen problem with our main drain that had to be replaced, not too surprising since it is a mid-century house, but we did get an estimate right then and there from Eric of the cost to do the drain replacement which was reassuring in our maintaining near the cost estimate. Moses introduced us to Ron who was the project supervisor who we could also contact at any time with any questions concerning the remodel since Ron was assigned to the Lakewood area and was a delight to work with.
    Each night Eric and I would exchange details of what time the workers would be coming and what they would be doing the next day just as we asked. This became our routine daily throughout the remodel.
    We couldn't have been more pleased with our Skyline Construction experience and we highly recommend them! Our kitchen was completely gutted from a vintage 1955 era kitchen to a new modern beautiful kitchen with custom cabinets, granite counter-tops, new wood laminate floors, various accessories and built-ins all within budget and specifically on-schedule! Eric told us five weeks and it WAS five weeks, amazing! We had a previous remodeling experience 9-years ago with a different contractor that was unfortunately stereotypical for this industry, the job took significantly longer than promised, it went over budget and towards the end we had trouble getting them to come back and complete the job, ugh! We had a completely opposite experience with Skyline, they came in on-schedule and within budget. Skyline's teams were professional, clean and came on the dates and times promised. Our contractor worked with us around our schedule and really tried to meet our every need, including getting our kitchen back to us as quickly as possible!. I would definitely use Skyline again in the future and I highly recommend them to anyone contemplating a major remodeling project! Our thanks to Eric, Moses, Ron, Alex, Javier, Ernesto and to the other members of the Skyline Construction team they are truly a professional and reliable company. It was a pleasure doing business with them and would not hesitate to call them again in the future.

  • Found Horizon on Angie's list with lots of recommendations. Spoke with Enna and she made an appointment with Mark to come out and meet with us. Mark arrived promptly and we went through our description of what we wanted, Mark provided lots of feedback, ideas and suggestions as well. Mark was very engaging and showed us many pictures of some of his successful projects and we decided we wanted to work with him.
    He came back, measured and gave a quote. We accepted the quote and the job started on the exact day that they had promised.
    All the contractors that came to do various jobs were always on time. They were very clean in their work. Everyone was polite and nice and accommodating.
    We made several changes throughout the project and Mark and his team accommodated everything.
    The job was completed on time and met all our expectations and everyone loves our new kitchen.

Moshe and his partners were involved from start to finish making sure to meet the highest standards for our project.   • Smooth. These guys were professional and clean. Drop cloths went down as they came into do the job. It came up as they left with NO mess left behind!!! The work was seamless and beautiful. We plan on using them again to tile our shower area. They are the best!

  • Juan was a pleasure to work with. From the start he was responsive and punctual. We initially called for a quote on installation of a pre-fab granite countertop. After looking at the existing cabinets he gave us some counsel on whether we should replace them. We considered the pros and cons he presented and ended-up replacing the cabinets. Even though this put-ff our need for his services on the back burner a few weeks, Juan was accomodating in coordinating his schedule with ours. Once he started on the task of removing the old floor tile, he ran into a problem in that underneath was linoleum -- the sheet kind, which used much glue when installed. Removing the tile was a breeze compared to that! Juan cleans as he goes which is extremely helpful in keeping the dust and mess to a minimum. Juan had an associate work with him on the countertop and it looks spectacular! Better than we had envisioned. He even made an additional top out of the excess granite for a bar cabinet, matched the existing bullnose perfectly. Now we are thinking of adding an island and if we do, we know who to call for the countertop. Our next projects are two bathrooms for which we want tiled floors and shower enclosures. We plan on calling Juan for those jobs as well.
