Countertop Installation reviews in Lakewood

It went very well. Kitchen was taken down to the studs and electrical was upgraded and so was plumbing. The workers were very polite and nice and very hard working. Aaron Winer. the contractor and owner of the business, was very friendly and professional. He was very available to discuss what what was happening and what was coming up. I have recommended him to several people who are looking to have work done in the future.

We couldnt be more happy and satisfied with the renovation work of Michael and his crew at Venetian Builders. Michaels capability and skills of all the stages in the remodeling that was done to our master bathroom helped us to make the entire work process go very efficiently. Michael was very easy-going with our questions and comments while his suggestions were a huge plus as well. He was also very alert when it came to our agreed budget. We were happy with all the attention that Michaels crew gave to our house while they were working on the master bathroom renovation project. They covered everything up and down the stairs and hallways and used plastic sheets around the bathroom to block any release of dust. Michael had a very loyal and expert crew who stayed in focus on our house only and they didnt do anything else other than that. They arrived on time each day during the week and they left the house no earlier than 5pm after they cleaned and organized their tools every time before. This type of working rules gave them the ability to finish our project on time with no extra delays. Michael was at the house everyday supervising the work and he was always available for our notes. We love our new master bathroom and we highly recommend Venetian Builders to anyone who is considering a bathroom or kitchen remodel.

On the whole, very well. Job completion took longer than planned, but we did add sub projects as we went on. Few minor issues (eg, leaky sink parts), but Dave responded to our pleas for help immediately, even returning on a Sunday to stand behind his work.

Luise (my wife) and I found it very easy to talk to both David and Ronen (Company Contractors) who made it a point to be at the site each morning during demolition and much of the repair work. David made it a point to take Luise and I to various material supply stores specializing in tile, marble and flooring products to select the very best available (much wider selection than Lowes or Home Depot). The company was very supportive throughout the project and made sure we had suitable housing (hotels in the area) for over two months while the home was unsuitable to live in due to the extent of project. Ronen was always very helpful in explaining what were the next steps to be done and how it was to be done which I found to be helpful as I was present much of the time and watched the men perform their jobs. Both David and Ronen were only a phone call away and very responsive. I found it helpful to be able to go on my own and pick out the various kitchen appliances on my own (David gave us a budget figure to work within) as well as the bathroom fixtures rather than leaving it up to them. The project took 4 months to complete but part of that was due to rain delays (Jan. & Feb. 2017 heavy rains after a 4 year drought). I liked the fact that I was introduced to the various subcontractors (cabinet maker, roofer, tilers, etc.) and was able to interact directly with them when issues arose. David especially was very helpful in interceding on our behalf if there were any questions. My only suggestion would be for both David and Ronen better manage the timing of what subcontractor are doing and making sure the materials are available as needed. This would have saved several days throughout the course of the project. Overall, we were very pleased with the interaction and support rendered by David, Ronen and the various subcontractors. The cost was not inexpensive but due to the scope of the work it was reasonable. David Villasenor (home owner)

Very well! We needed quick turn-around because another contractor had backed out. Stonesmith looked at our project and figured out a much less expensive way to do it with quartz that was just the color we wanted, and did the work on time with a great deal of professionalism. Everyone was friendly and easy to work with.

I don't go out of my way to write reviews so much since there is never time to do so. But this Company was exceptional. Ram is a wonderful guy! He knows his craft and always wants to give you his best. Very honest, kind & gentle - he's easily a guy you can be friends with. This made the project flow so smoothly because I had full confidence in him. His people are all so professional too. We had a fairly large job ahead of us but this team made it as organized, systematic & stress-free as possible. Quality of work was very good and the work scheduling was followed to the dot as much as they could with a few small exceptions when orders have not arrived yet. The workers are all so great - both in work ethics and personal values in terms of respect for all our family members and all of our property. My family & I loved all the remodeling done. Everyone now wants to stay longer in our bathrooms.

We signed a contract with Planet Stone to deliver a particular set of countertops. We payed our deposit, and had the measurements done.Since then, it has been nothing but run-around from them. First, we were told that the installation could not be done in the time frame promised. Then, after two dozen phone calls that mostly went unreturned, now we are informed that they do not have the quartz promised and cannot get it. They have offered to do the job with a (very different) color, and promise to have it done a week later than originally promised. So the contract has not been honored in any way--they cannot deliver what they promised, when they promised. If they did not have the quartz they should not have signed a contract to deliver it. We have been treated badly, unacceptably, in fact, considering the thousands of dollars the job will cost.

Everyone associated with this project acted with professionalism and courtesy. Ted guided me through the selection of cabinets and took me shopping for the tile, the plumbing fixtures, and the granite vanity top. Before the job started I knew what the schedules would be and as the job progressed I was kept informed regarding the type of work to be completed that day. If Tony or Ted weren't onsite on a particular day, which was rare, they called at the end of the day to check in. Tony was often here during the day with his crew as they finished a particular component of the job. Jennifer recommended paint colors for the bathroom and master bedroom which turned out to be the perfect color choices. I can readily recommend Verity and would use them again.

This was our first time doing any major renovation, and needed to get a new loan to finance it. After working out the contract, they referred us to a broker who connected us with a bank loan specialist. The process of getting the loan took much longer than we had originally expected, so our project was pushed out a couple months. Due to the delay, the cost of materials went up after the original cabinet supplier ran out of stock, and Horizon split the cost of the material increase 50/50 with us.
Take away lesson: If you will need a loan to finance your job, get it upfront beforehand.
Once we finally got started, like all jobs there were a few few misunderstandings (mostly due to the fact that there was so much time between the original contract, and actually starting the project), but they were all explained and settled in a courteous manner (they threw in no-slam hinges free of charge!).
We had the floor done by a separate contractor for cost reasons, and Horizon was very accommodating to coordinate their work with the other contractor. Even with the back and forth between two contractors, the whole job was completed in about 3 weeks.
As my wife and I both work, we had a lock box on the door, and Horizon worked while we were out for the day. When we came back in the afternoon, the house was still in order, and there was no mess outside of the work area.
The finished project looks great and we are absolutely happy with it!
    Thanks Horizon!

This was our first time using Angie?s List and we were very pleased with our experience. We were looking for a contractor to update our kitchen by refinishing the existing oak cabinets, install new counter tops, stainless steel sink and LED lighting. In addition to this, we wanted to install copper piping and add rooftop ventilation for the stove.  Our kitchen had been upgraded on several occasions in the past by unqualified contractors leaving cabinets that didn't match in height and edge details, among other things.
After meeting with Pier, we were quite impressed with his multi-trade experience and we were comfortable with his point of view.  He pointed out some things that we had never noticed and he presented some ideas and choices that would make our old, tired kitchen fresh and current.  Pier gave us a realistic quote and not just a ?low-ball? number to get the job and we were
free to choose our kitchen fixtures and counter top materials within the budgeted amount of the quote.
When Pier got done with the kitchen everything was perfect,he would have it no other way.  He took the time to match the cabinet heights, leveled and matched the existing edge details that ordinary contractors would have simply overlooked.  He converted our bi-fold pantry doors to conventional doors. All drawers and doors received new ?soft-close? hinges and ball-bearing slides.  He installed new LED can lighting and brought the electrical up to code.  He installed all new copper piping and plumbing fixtures and the Cambridge quartz counter tops are simply amazing.  The cabinets were completely stripped and
re-stained with the addition of an antiquing process that really made them look like brand new cabinets.
As has been said in other reviews, Pier and his assistant Mr. Greg are true artisans and doing business with them was simply a pleasure, one that I wasn't expecting when we first considered this project.  I made it clear that once started, they work to conclusion and not try to juggle multiple jobs and he assured me that this is how he works.  He said that they would
have it done within 3-weeks and they finished a day early, working long hours and even a Saturday to keep on schedule.
Every day when they left they cleaned up after themselves.  For our job, they never left us without a sink, running water and they even installed plywood counter tops at the end of the day so we would have a work space to cook dinner.  During the 3-weeks of construction we were never without all of our basic appliances (refer, micro, and sink).  I think that you would be hard pressed to find another contractor as professional and considerate as Pier & company.  I would definitely hire them again.
