Concrete Repair reviews in Lakewood

Element Construction's crews do excellent work.  The breaking up of the old concrete and creating the new paved area was very labor intensive, and the crew was very professional and clearly proud of their skills.  The worked for several days breaking up the concrete pieces to create attractive pavers, and making a level installation.  They installed each paver on its own pad of concrete/grout, for stability, but cleared the areas between the pavers, for installation of gravel that allows rain to percolate into the soil, which was one of my main goals. They also made a raised bed for planting vegetables, again using the pre-existing concrete.
Andrew Aparicio, the owner of Element Construction, created the wooden pergola design.  He worked for several days with the City of Long Beach to meet all the permit requirements in the design.  During a rainy week when they could not do installation, Element purchased and stained all the beams for the pergola, and then installed it the next week.  It is a heavy duty, large construction, and very sturdily built, as well as being very attractive.
Andrew consulted with me and the landscape designer throughout the process, to be sure we were getting the details we wanted.  His crews are very skilled and very nice to work with.  They showed up on time and worked long days.  When I asked for some "finishing details" to be done - - removing paint from some of the urbanite pavers, drilling weep holes into the raised bed, and smoothing up the neighbor's side of a walkway - - they did them promptly and well.
I have worked with many contractors over the past two years, and would rate Element Construction highly.

After previously hiring Kyle Beym to remodel a bathroom, and being very pleased with the quality and value of the work,  I hired him again to do a variety of work throughout my 45-year old house.  I have now met 3 of Kyle's crews, and all are competent, friendly, professional, easy to work with, do excellent work, and clean up at the end of the day and the end of the job.
First, they gutted and rebuilt a bathtub and a shower enclosure in two bathrooms and installed all new plumbing and shower heads.  Kyle has an excellent source for bath/shower glass walls and doors, who he will call, but you pay separately.  A concrete fireplace hearth was extended on both ends, and tiled.  They installed solid core doors on all interior rooms, a new fire-rated door between the house and attached garage, and a new double front door, including removing and reinstalling a security screen.  New knobs and deadbolts were installed on all doors.
Kyle's crew removed a large recessed fluorescent light box in the kitchen, installed drywall, and finished the surface, preparatory to an electrical remodel.  After the electrical remodel, (done by an electrical specialist), popcorn ceiling removal, and blow-in insulation work, which left many, many holes in the walls, Kyle's crew came in and patched, textured, primed and painted the entire interior of the house, including cathedral ceilings.  This was extensive work, and so well done that the electrician, when he came back to repair something, commented on how good the finished walls looked.  The patching work was really well done - the walls look better than they did before any of this work was started.  In the course of painting, they also rehung some linen closet doors that were misaligned, installed new pulls on all interior closet doors, installed new air registers for the furnace ducts, and rehung the smoke alarms.
Finally, they installed a double front entry door.  This required removing the security screen assembly, slightly enlarging the space for the door,  lots of leveling and aligning, reinstallation of the security screens, and caulking and touch-up painting around the door.  As always, they worked carefully and with great attention to detail, and the finished product is excellent.
There were several little punch-list things to be done at the end of the job, and Kyle's crews always ask if there is anything else to be done, and have me inspect the work they have completed, before they leave.  They also clean up better than any other workers that I've used.  Kyle is quite knowledgeable about each of his workers strengths, and assigns them accordingly.  In the rare cases where I was not entirely pleased with the initial work (just little stuff), Kyle immediately offered to send a crew to do fixes.
Kyle is wonderfully easy to work with.  He is always calm, he responds daily to phone messages or emails, he has good ideas for tough situations, he treats his workers well, and he has a sense of humor.  I am planning to hire him again to finish remodeling my kitchen later this year.  He bills per the initial agreement re timing of progress and final payments, and his pricing is very competitive.  I just advise you to track what you've paid, and double check the addition on his invoices - - I've found that he sometimes short changes himself (but never erred to the detriment of the me, the customer).
Definitely one of the good guys in the construction and remodeling business!

This job was done in conjunction with the concrete job and our sod job, so while a group of guys was working on the concrete project, another group came through to start on the dog run. They started with the base using with cement blocks to build frame, installed the poles where the chain-link fence would be placed, and filled the blocks with concrete and left them to dry. A few days later they came back and completed the run. They installed the chain-link fence and the door and made sure everything was working properly. It looks great and it’s high enough that the dogs can’t get out and they still have plenty of room to move around in and relax when they’re in there. The crew worked extremely h****** this project and was very thorough. They were prompt, courteous, and very clean. We are very, very happy with Pita’s work on the dog run and I would definitely recommend Pita and his crew for your home projects.

Pita was the first one who actually seemed to want to help. He called back right away, came out to quote, came in at a VERY fair price, and was able to start work almost immediately. He showed me his portfolio with photos of other jobs he had done. Very nice work and you can tell he takes pride in it. We were impressed at how much they hustled. They were very thorough and very fast. They dug out the existing grass and dirt from the areas to be filled with concrete in a day?s time. When they left for the day, they made sure to clean up after themselves. The concrete part was completed in about half a day and it looked great. They completed the areas that needed to be filled pretty quickly and smoothed it all out to perfection. The crew was very courteous, thorough, hardworking, and clean. We are very, very happy with Pita?s work on the concrete and I would definitely recommend Pita and his crew for your concrete/cement needs.

Pita immediately booked the dumpsters, ordered the sod and the following Monday arrived at my house ready to go with his crew. Again they arrived bright and early and again they hustled, digging out the existing yard and leveling it all out, preparing it for the installation the next day.The next day the crew went over the dirt again, spread the top soil, and laid down the sod. Once set they watered it, cleaned up and even power-washed our patio so there was no trace of dirt—a very nice bonus! The crew was very prompt, reliable, conscientious, and once again they helped our trash collectors in lifting the heavier bins that they otherwise would not have been able to lift (weight limit). We would like to thank Pita and his team for all of the hard work they did on our home. We are very pleased with how it all looks and are very excited to make the most of our new yard.

Following a pipe leak inside the shower wall of our only bathroom and a speedy pipe fix from our plumber, we were recommended to a restoration contractor to dry out the water damage to the floor and two walls and reconstruct the bathroom. The contractor we started with did the dry out but would not come back to complete the reconstruction even after a few calls. So we decided to find another contractor to finish the job. We called Nu Look Services and glad we did. Rudy came out the next day and gave us an estimate that fell within our budget. His crew started the very next day. They always showed up on time and left the site clean every day. From the initial call to the finished results, it went better than expected. The bathroom looks better than before the water damage took place. Rudy was great to work with. Understood our needs and dire situation and helped us by explaining details regarding our desire to make minor upgrades. Everyone treated us with courtesy and concern. They worked hard and were very conscientious. We are planning to use NLS again next year for a few more projects on our old home (built in 1942). I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for any type of construction work.

The job was done quickly and efficient. It was a shared wall and both parties communicated well with coastline. Coastline was considerate of timing and cleanliness. Overall a job well done. We would have liked them to have mentioned more structural design placement options but we live and learn. I would recommend coastline to others.

3-20 Bought the Big Deal 3-25 received first message asking for contact # 3-25 I sent my number to Belman 4-1 I sent a message since I received no call 4-1 Talked to Victor on the phone, he asked me to send him a picture message and measure the area to be worked on 4-2 Sent picture message and square footage, no response 4-9 I followed up with a message asking again how much it would be for my square footage. Response is given that it's $1700 additional. I paid 799 for 120 sq feet. My area is 200 sq feet and the price went to $2500. I was willing to pay the same rate per square foot but this price makes no sense, plus the poor communication makes me not want to do business with this company.

This was an Angie's Big Deal. They were very professional, and did everything in a textbook manner. Communication was excellent, and they showed up on time with the materials and tools to do the job. The job was left cleaned up. We're happy clients.

customer service was great Cal and crew were on time and very knowledgeable, work done quick and on time per job contact.

Concern after job completed concrete showed many expansion hairline cracks in all area's of each section. Concrete also raised up in several areas over 1/2 " at joints.  Working with Cal to get this completed but great concern about possible injury to self or guests walking thru those areas.

use again? Depends on how the response and correction to concerned work areas are corrected.
