Water And Smoke Damage reviews in Lake Forest

Tl;dr: Company has nonexistent communication, does shoddy work, and not a single person in the organization acknowledged there was problem with the workmanship, communication, or apologized for the issues we had, leading me to believe this is standard for this company and that most customers do not complain or make them do work correctly. Issues: Classic Restoration came highly recommended by our insurance adjuster, and while we were starting the claims process, our Project Manager, Ben, was extremely responsive and helpful. Once our project began, and we moved out of our house into a hotel, communication died. We were not provided updates on timelines although we asked for them repeatedly. We asked for revised estimates due to changes we made and were never provided them. We were told that painting was going to happen on Thursday, go by the house on Saturday and painting hadnt started. This also happened when our new floors were supposed to be laid, and work in the bathroom shower was supposed to start. It all culminated when we were told that our house would be completed on Saturday, July 1st. Our insurance adjuster told us to move out of the hotel on Saturday as our house would be done that day. We were out of town for the holiday weekend, and arrived home Sunday night, to a home with the shower NOT completed, no toilet installed, and our water off. No one told us that our work was incomplete, and we had to turn our water on ourselves and thankfully had another toilet upstairs we could use for the night. When the workers came Monday, July 3rd to finish the bathroom, they did a horrible job with the tile work in our bathroom. The tile was not straight, the corners did not match up, in one section there was actually a divot that looked like someone had pushed the tile into the wall. They had pulled the tile out further than it had been previously right to the edge of our towel rack and had actually grouted the towel rack INTO the edge of the shower rather than moving it. I complained and made them redo the work. It took an extra 3.5 weeks to complete due to continuing poor workmanship. The day before the work was finally completed, I was told at 2:30 pm that workers had been at my house that day getting everything done right, and to please check it when I got home. When I arrived home at 4:45p, the worker had only arrived 15 minutes earlier and had not started work at all yet. Im not sure if I was purposefully lied to or whether the issue lay with between the contractor and subcontractor. I chose tile 3 weeks before it was installed. In those weeks I repeatedly asked for updates on what the tile I chose cost vs. my estimate and was never provided an update. When I went to MSI, the wholesale company, to pick out the tile, I was informed I should have come with my contractor as MSI would not provide pricing information. I simply had to pick tile I liked, and hope that it fit within my budget. I had to do the whole thing flying blind. When the job was finally completed correctly, I asked again for an itemized invoice showing the actual costs of the tile I chose. I was denied, and told that actually I chose something more expensive but that they elected to only charge me my estimate due to frustrations with the job. This may be true, but I believe that I chose cheaper tile, and the fact that they wouldnt provide me with actual costs makes me suspicious and leaves me with a feeling of distrust and unease. Throughout the entire process, and especially during the last 3.5 weeks of waiting for the company to fix the poorly installed tile, it became apparent that the company has absolutely no customer service skills or pride in their work. The last few weeks I was working with Ajay, who I believe is the president of the company. He kept asking for final payment, and I would have to remind him of additional issues that needed to be fixed before I would send it. Not once was I apologized to for the faulty workmanship, not once did anyone even acknowledge that there was an issue. No one stated that this was not their standard of workmanship. This leads me to believe that they often do sub-par work, and that most customers do not complain and allow them to get away with it. Eventually they did finally complete the job to professional standards, but I do not recommend this company at all, and urge you to choose another contractor.

I ran into a few snags with ServiceFirst when they sent one of their service people out to my residence for an in home evaluation. I had accidentally flooded my kitchen. The service person seemed new and a little nervous and uninformed but a nice young man. Things did not go well at first and I would not have been able to give a good rating much less an "A" grade but I must say, they really turned it around. The owner and his employees went above and beyond in customer service and everything turned out well for me.  I am happy to say I would use this company again in the future and I recommend their services. I have been a homeowner for many years and have learned customer service is very valuable when seeking services for such things as home repair/damage. A sincere thank you to Christopher and your team for coming through in a big way.

I had a large slab leak, and after the plumbing and drywall were replaced, I had to tackle the flooring mess I had. I initially contacted a guy to replace my flooring. He did business with Pacific Landmark and suggested I contact them and check out the tile they offer. I was looking for the new wood grain tile that now seems to be popular. They had a large selection, and I found my tile straight away. As it turned out, my tile contractor did not work out, so the tile guys from Pacific Landmark did the job. I had absolutely no complaints. They showed up on time on the start date, and all subsequent days. They did a beautiful job and I am so pleased with the end results. It's exactly what I envisioned and the price was very reasonable. My wood grain tile looks just like real wood with the convenience of tile. I'm very happy to have found this company.

We sent pictures so he knew what he had to do before he arrived. He arrived on time. He went right to work. He was courteous and professional.  He fixed all of the holes.  The work done was excellent.  He charged us for the time worked and not his lunch break.
He stated up front that we had to pay for drywall and he doesn't paint.  He was able to use remnants for most of the work.
We are very happy with the work done.
We will have him back to do some other minor repairs in the future.  I would recommend him to our friends.

He arrived at the time he said he would arrive in spite of the fact that the call was pretty urgent since I had to shut off the water due to the water leak.

He explained the different approaches that could be taken and their advantages and disadvantages.

I chose to have both the main valve and regulator replaced since the valve was leaking and the water company representative said that gate valves can sometimes break when they are reopened.

I was very pleased with the work that was done and his friendliness and professionalism.

Very responsive.  Was able to schedule within a week due to active leak.  Two day project - one day piping, second day patching.  City inspector said they never have issues with Repipe 1.

We are currently getting our bathroom remodeled. After many pinhole leaks and lack of water flow to our new bathtub, we decided to replace our copper piping with PEX. RePipe 1 gave us the best deal out of all our bids. They were fast, had great communication, and very professional. We had the pleasure of working with Greg, who easily eased our anxiety as first time homeowners doing major renovations. We thank Re-Pipe 1 for being our silver lining during our home improvements.

I was super stressed about the damage and the needed repairs. Having heard quite a few horror stories and never experienced anything like this before, I was anxious as could be. Pure restoration simplified everything for my wife and I. They were able to give us options. They bought us time and saved us money where they could but wouldn't allow us to cut corners on the critical repairs.  Cameron came out with Miguel to provide the initial bid, and then Miguel came back with another worker to do the job.  They worked Tuesday through Saturday, never missed a day, and came in right on budget. They identified another potential issue with our chimney and offered to repair it for a nominal fee, so we jumped on it.  I will definitely tell my friends and family about our fantastic experience with this company. I had set these expectations in my head that this would be the construction job that would never end, it would cost us triple the bid, and the noise would be unbearable. I have never been so happy to be so wrong.  They worked around our schedule, they were pretty much there when we were at work and by the time we got home they were gone. The job site was kept exceptionally clean too. We are big fans of Pure Restoration.

Last summer I flooring installers discovered that I had high moisture in my concrete and they would not install new flooring. During the past year several contractors have tried unsuccessfully to determine the cause of the excessive moisture. Finally, one contractor hired by my HOA found  the reason for the high moisture and reported this to my HOA. Part of the solution was a French Drain which has now been installed. However, I decided to check  Angie?s website to find a contractor to assess the situation before any more work was done because I felt the solution he proposed was a little too open-ended for my taste.
On Angie's website I saw that  Absolute Maintenance and Consulting had great reviews so I called them and made an appointment for the same day.  Cameron did not charge me for the assessment even though I had told him it was possible he would not be doing the work as my HOA may have plans to continue on with the other contractor. He immediately determined the cause of the moisture problem and told me what he felt was the best solution.  He said he would create a spec sheet/estimate by Monday (he came on Saturday) yet he did not try and pressure me to hire him. It was painless. I will be pleading with my HOA to use him for the remaining work.  Also, Cameron had great qualifications:  30 years of experience, ands the author of two books in his field of expertise.

From start to finish Joe is the professional plumber we all hope to find. He came out the same day I called and called ahead to let me know when he would be here. He arrived on time and analyzed the problem while soothing our concerns. It was obvious he knew the building and plumbing codes. In addition, he was familiar with insurance claim procedures. He cleaned up all debris and was able to recommend a company that could do a dry down for us. We received a discount because we found him on Angie's list. I highly recommend this company.
