This is my way to pass my appriciation and thankful to Asher and his people at AP Roofing group for the new roof installation at my house recently. Asher did this process so easy and fast that within few days, the new roof was complete while the old one was removed, and all the working space was clean and safe. Also the price that he gave me was very fair and honest. I will hire Asher for any roof work that I will have and more than that, I will recommend him to anyone I know.

At 8:30am on the appointed day the workman had not arrived. I called the office and they told me since I lived way out in Laguna Niguel the workman won't get here until 9:30am. I didn't have confidence that the 9:30am estimate was accurate. If he got there at 10:00am he'd have to be here until 7pm. I don't think it would be safe to work outside at dusk. I cancelled the project. If they didn't mean 8am then HandyCrew should have told me that.

They were good. They came, gave the estimate, and came back on time to do the job. They followed up on the estimate too. It was really a small job. They were the most professional, and they were good. I split it with our neighbor. Each of us paid $300.00. They did it in a couple of hours. They did a good job. It looks the same as the other gutters. The gutters match the colors as the existing gutters so it doesn't look like it was done at a different time. We called them, and they said they would be out in two days, and they were out here on time. They were really good. They were on time.

    California Roofing and Weather Proofing
WONDERFUL We could not of asked for a better contractor. The team was there when they said they would be. Not only on time but early. The crew cleaned up the yard everyday before they left. Rob is a great person to work with. He was upfront with all charges, explained everything that needed to be done and when it would be completed. If we had a question, he was easy to reach or return our phone call within the hour. We highly recommend California Roofing and Weather Proofing!

    Above It All Roofing, Inc
The roof was installed prior to us buying the property in May 2015.  Even though the roof was only a few months old at the time of our purchase the provider refused to honor the warranty unless we paid 10% of the purchase price of the roof to transfer the warranty.  The former owner denies knowing about that restriction but in reviewing the contract, that condition is listed under the "fine print". I had several email/text correspondences with the company but they ceased responding and were firm that we had to pay the 10% of the purchase price to receive any services related to the warranty.

While treating our attic for a rodent problem during the summer, we had 3 companies give us estimates.  Each person independently commented on how much rubbish had been left behind in the attic from the roof installation.  We paid the company that we hired to haul out the old insulation plus the debris left by the roofers.
This week, we had new gutters installed and the crew noticed that some of the roof tiles are missing.  We will need to call a roofer to fix the problem, which should not have occurred within a year of a new roof installation.
The only contact that I have had with the company is by email and text. I did not post a review earlier because I recently joined Angie's List.

    • The bottom line was that I paid $280 for just under two hours of physical labor to make the repairs to my roof.  I was expecting it to take longer from what was explained to me.  I believe there were minimal material costs for this work.  There was also an earlier visit with two sales representatives and a visit from a job manager the day of the service.  The job manager explained that they would not be able to "level" my gutter because of how it was positioned. He suggested a gutter company to add a down spout.

    • I realize that there are seldom great "deals" when it comes to most home repairs.  What I usually look for is fair pricing and quality workmanship.  I have had success using Angie's List in the past and I saw the opportunity for a roof and gutter tune-up I felt that was something I could use.

The first part of the process was a visit by two sales representatives (one a new trainee) in order to decide what work needs to be done.  This took some time because they did get on the roof and take some pictures to show me.  Afterward they sat in their car and worked on the quote.  They did not have all the specifics on the Angie's List deal that I had purchased so I showed them my copy. This is when they came up with a quote for $220 on top of the $59 that I already paid for the Angie's List deal.  They also offered to clean my skylight of dirt and dust for $40 but I declined because that sounded excessive for a few minutes work.  The sales representatives had suggested that it would take about four hours to do the work so I went for the deal.

There was some confusion with the original quote that I had because I could not see what portion of the work was covered on the Angie's List deal and what was in addition to that.  I sent a couple of e-mails prior to the actual service date and was contacted by  a representative at Roof Rx who explained what was being covered with the quotes.

When the gentleman finished the work I did get a chance to talk to him and he said my roof was in pretty good shape.  That to me is worth a great deal.  I did tip him which is what I usually do in these situations.

I have been in sales for my entire working career and I know what good customer service looks like and how that can lead to additional business.  It is not that complicated.  Most of it is just having clarity on what the customer wants to have done and what it is going to take to accomplish that and what the company is able to do to satisfy that need.  This experience missed that in just a few ways.  Also, how easy would it have been to "throw in" the skylight cleaning as a way of showing appreciation for the getting the work just like some car dealerships wash your car after a service.

    FYI

The "work" that is covered in the deal is mostly inspection and checking things.  This is done by the sales team.  The actual repair that can take place if your roof and gutters need it is minimal.  I doubt that anyone gets what they need with just the deal and no extras.

    • $59 for a roof and gutter maintenance package
    • Complete roof inspection for one- and two-story homes
    • Checking for broken, cracked, slipped and missing tiles or shingles
    • Refastening, re-nailing or repairing up to 10 tiles (tile replacement, if required, is additional)
    • Nailing down up to 20 loose shingles
    • Inspecting all plumbing or heating flashings: checking for broken or missing components, collars and caps
    • Resealing up to 3 plumbing or heating flashings
    • Inspecting all valleys for damming
    • Inspecting gutters
    • Re-securing of up to 3 loose gutters or downspouts
    • Any other areas that are in need of maintenance will be brought to the homeowner's attention, and a professional plan of action will be presented

It was completed in an efficient manner, with Scott coming to review my home prior to setting up the appointment. The individual who did the actual work came out exactly when he was scheduled and was very professional and kept me up to date on the work as it progressed. I received photos of all of the gutters from Scott upon the cleaning being completed, which was a real added bonus.

Though they did arrive late, the work was completed as promised. The installers were clean, courteous, and efficient. I have nothing negative to say about the job. Me Gutter provided a good product for a fair price.

These guys were consummate professionals.  I initially bought this in early September, but they were held up by one of my other contractors, the painter.  I knew that would happen, and made them aware of it.  They called back a couple of times to see if they were needed, and we scheduled late in September.
They arrived on the day and at the time they said they would; they worked cleanly and professionally; they adapted their work to that which had occurred beforehand--in particular, a drain had been moved from the original placement and they adjusted well to the new placement without complaint.
They worked well with my (somewhat picky) neighbors, and were very forthcoming with information about the gutters.
The job was done in a top notch way, for the price quoted, by pleasant workers who worked well and left my house neat.  You can't ask a lot more than that.

Arrived on time, confirmed what was to be done and material/ color choice. Did the installation very quickly. Left no mess at all. They were friendly and professional.
    Highly recommend them.
