    Orange County Block Wall
This was a joint project with our next door neighbors.
Dan's estimate was not only the most reasonable, it was the most clear as to the details. We had 2 other estimates. One was $1,500 more, plus had debris being hauled away by us! One was $2,000 more. Another contractor just never got back to us.
The 2 man crew showed up when expected. And completed everything when expected. Dan came by daily to check on progress.
We asked that the excavated debris not be dumped on our hillside landscape (we'd had that happen before). The crew was very careful and clean. They did a very good job of making it flow into an existing 40 year old piece.
We and our neighbors would recommend this company.

Bob was prompt in answering our emails with the info we needed to hire him. We had him on two seperate occaisons, BOTH times he was on time, He was VERY good at respecting our property,(floor coverings, booties etc.) and did a GREAT job of cleaning up after everything he did. When we were pointing out some of the projects we wanted done, on several occasions he offered an alternate solution (costing us less, and also less for him) that we went with, the results were better then our original plans. We would definately reccomend him to neighbors and friends, and plan on using his services again.

I have never seen a group of more hard-working men. Apparently the fire pit was much deeper and stronger than they thought and it took great pains to remove. They never charged me extra. They worked very hard and were really good people.I wanted them to remove the stone from the front brick facade that had been cemented on 16 years ago and initially they agreed but once their specialist arrived he told me they didn't want to take any chances in removing the stone in case the brick was damaged - that was very disappointing but they suggested I patch the grout and reseal - it looks better but I still really want to have the original facade back......but not their fault....

Our family room had the typical brick hearth in front of the fireplace, brick on the wall on either side of the fireplace and large mantel on top of the bricks.  We also had a custom built entertainment center (wood) along one wall, beneath the wall mounted television.
Ed had to demolish the entertainment center, the hearth, the brick siding and remove the mantel.  Where the hearth and entertainment center had been, re-tiling was required since the tile had been laid around the entertainment center and the hearth.  Baseboard and crown molding also had to be replaced.  We wanted stack stone around the fireplace and up to the ceiling where we had crown molding.  In addition, there was a lot of wall repair around the fireplace and under the television.  And everything had to be repainted.
We met with Ed, showed him the project, got a price, and worked out a timetable of two weeks.
Ed's son, Patrick, did all the demolition and took great care to protect the house from excessive dust.  Ed's sub-contractors laid the stack stone around the fireplace and up the wall, replaced the tile, repaired and painted the walls.  Ed himself did the baseboard and crown molding.
He and his crew did a beautiful job and best of all stuck to the schedule!  Throughout the job, when we had questions, Ed would respond by email within minutes, literally.  He was on top of it all the way.  We are very, very pleased with his work.

    Custom Concrete Cutting
This is a father/son business and both times they were timely, fast and clean. They came, bid the job and were able to get it done that week. First we had them cut trenches for the drain and electric and that went very well, so we called them back once we finally decided to removed a city tree well protruding into our yard. This took almost a day, but Jim was very knowledgeable in knowing what tools to use and to make it as painless as possible. We are very happy with the result and how fast Jim was. We would definitely hire them again or recommend them to any neighbors.

    Custom Concrete Cutting
Called at 3:30 pm Thursday and they were able to come at 9 am the following day. We are in the middle of landscaping our yard and needed to resolve this drain issue quickly before planting. The landscaper wanted to charge much more so I called this father/son team and they were very responsive. We had them cut and remove the concrete, but not haul, and the price was discussed beforehand so we knew exactly what to expect. In two hours the job was done. They were efficient and respectful of our neighbors. They had water and a generator on the truck so they didn't even use our electricity or hose. We are thinking about having them core a hole in our driveway to allow the water to drain, we would recommend them in a heartbeat.

    Belman Hardscape & Pavers
Victor Belman came out to bid our job. He didn't come in as the highest or the lowest, but he answered all of my questions and had some great ideas as to how to redesign our landscape/hardscape. Our job was a challenge, no question, but all of the guys on the crew were professional, knowledgeable and super hard-working. It's hard for me to visualize an outcome without seeing it, but Victor and Ricardo were patient and described the vision to me. So, even though I am a control freak, I trusted them....
All I can say is, WOW! Our backyard looks like an elegant resort - the paver stones and retaining wall are very elegant, but still make it feel homey. There is a raised area in our backyard that I wasn't sure about beforehand - and it looks AMAZING. The transformation is truly unbelievable.
And the front yard, too, what a difference. As my husband likes to say, we used to have the home that needed the most help, and now we have the home that looks the nicest on the block! We are truly happy with how it turned out, and Ricardo, who was in charge of our job was the BEST!
We actually had an issue with a small part of the landscaping. I called up Victor and the crew is coming down next week. Now THAT is customer service! Yes, it's covered under the warranty period, but it's nice to know that even when the job is done, he is still there to make sure the job was done right!

Glenn showed up on time to bid the job. He was careful to make sure to explain the process from start to finish, set time lines, and ensure that he understood what I wanted from the beginning. He carefully bid the job, checking with the granite contractor along the way to make sure that each of them understood what needed to be done and when.He communicated with me and the other contractor effectively and in a timely manner.
His work from start to finish was on time, clean, precise, and detailed. Along the way he made sure to communicate with me about any questions that I may have or concerns that he had. I would highly recommend him and intend to use him on an upcoming project.

Glenn is very punctual and a good communicator. We had several contractors give us quotes and he was the first to respond with an estimate after coming out to the property. His prices were fair. He recommended a demo guy as well, which we needed to remove a tree well before his work could begin. It took us about two months before we could call him to start the job. He kept in contact and let us know when he could start on our project. He showed up early and on time every morning with Don. They worked steadily and kept everything cleaned up. We are very happy to have these projects finished up and plan to use him for a retaining wall planter in our backyard very soon.

    Seth Pompey Landscaping
We interviewed several contractors that were found through a combination of on-line ratings and personal references.  Seth was one of two finalists that we selected to work with.

We first met with Seth in July 2011 when we were trying to figure out exactly what we wanted to do with the yard.  He gave us some excellent ideas and embraced all aspects of our vision.  Once we had solidified what we were going to do, he took us to three of the homes that he had completed over the last couple of years.  The quality of his work was excellent.  And the owners of those homes absolutely loved him and provided glowing recommendations.

One part of our project involved the construction of a large water-proof balcony attached to the house.  None of the yard contractors that we met with felt confident in doing that part of the job.  Seth referred us to a structure specialist who we have since hired to do that part of the project.

Since our yard design really couldn't be done in stages, we needed to award the job to only one contractor.  During the entire process, we felt confident that we would select Seth.  From the very first contact, we felt a strong connection with him and enjoyed all of our interactions with him.  He was very professional, patient and thorough.  I know that we would have enjoyed working with him over the course of a three to four month project.

For the final proposal, Seth's pricing was on-par with the other finalist at approximately $90,000.  And both offered extremely aggressive pricing as compared to many of the others we had initially explored.  Ultimately, the ONLY reason that we decided to go with the other contractor was their willingness to accept all financial risk for any potential surprises.  Due to the age of the property and concerns about potential costly surprises with the existing pool, spa and other areas, we couldn't afford to take any chances that the project price tag could grow beyond the contract.

Seth is an amazing guy who I would happily and confidently hire in a heartbeat.  Our decision to go with somebody else was agonizing.  And I'm not sure that I made the right choice.

If you have any landscape needs, I STRONGLY recommend Seth Pompey Landscaping.
