DKI Restotech Water & Fire Damage Restoration
Company showed up and drilled holes in our ceiling after a water leak instead of taking out the damaged drywall. They ripped up our carpet without replacing the carpet back and left the house in poor condition. They then placed the dryers as requested everywhere returned 4 days later and did not remove the mess. There was tape still on the ground and they took a floor board with them which we had to replace later. Finally we get a bill for over 2k with an invoice that just said services rendered. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

20/20 Advanced Property & Mold Inspections
Michael Cantor came by and inspected our house. He is very knowledgable and personable. He took the time to explain where possible mold was in our home and point out trouble areas while suggesting solutions. He also gave a detailed report with pictures. He loves his job and it shows. Thanks Michael.

    Dry Down Inc
It was Saturday evening when we contacted Dry Down and they did not hesitate to come over. We felt bad it being a Saturday night but this had to be fixed. A technician arrived promptly went underneath to evaluate the damage. He thoroughly explained the damage and then thoroughly explain the plan to mediate the damage. He began to estimate the damage all along explained how best to present the damages to the insurance company. The estimate was through and had images to show. They took readings of the walls and floors and around the ceiling. To dry out the bottom would take days. They offered to have packing service to remove our furniture items away from the effected walls. Throughout this whole experience Dry Down was always in communication with myself and the insurance co to answer any question I did not understand. As the machines were left to dry the area they came back to check and were considerate to arrange the machines so that the noise did not impede on us and we were able to keep getting on with our lives. I highly recommend Dry Down this has been the most challenging experience I have had since becoming a property owner and seems like working with HOA, plumbers, and Insurance Companies it was only Dry Down who was on our side helping us get through.

    911 Restoration of Orange County
It went very well. Shawn Diaz came out and got right to work- he was clean, efficient, professional, and oh so polite. He was there for 5+ hours and stayed until the work was done. Never a complaint. Shawn set the bar pretty high. He made this stressful situation less intense.

    Ekwall Company
I really appreciated Shane's honesty. We were freaking out because we saw mold in the garage, but he confirmed that none had penetrated to our living space and gave recommendations on how we could remove it ourselves. He drove all the way up to Orange County from Oceanside, but didn't charge us for the inspection.

    ServiceFirst Restoration Inc
They came out 2 days before Thanksgiving (same day as the call - AWESOME). I am waiting for the quote in writing.  Someone from the office calls that following Monday wanting to know if we are going to move forward.  I asked for the quote and she said they don't do that.  The guys should have told you what was included onsite.  WHAT?  Yes, but I would like to understand what the $3k would cover and where we could run into issues and additional costs so I can budget.  She said they don't do that.  I told her other companies do and she reiterated they don't.  EPIC FAIL, I pass.  2 other companies also came out.  I received estimate from them outlining what is standard and where the issues may increase costs.  ServiceFirst is not typical and I would not recommend any work being performed without a contract.

    Repipe 1
Ended with 3 slab leaks at one time and made decision to repipe house.  Got a referral off a local plumber and did research on Angie's list and contacted Repipe 1 through Angie's list.  The response was almost instant, got a phone call from Greg and set an appointment for the next day.  Greg arrived on time and gave a comprehensive explanation of the process and timeline to get the house repiped.  Both my wife & i felt very comfortable with Greg and his presentation and signed agreement.
Plan was for crew to arrive tuesday morning and complete repipe that day, next day would be dependent on inspector and then day after if we passed inspection would be drywall repair and texture.
Day one - Crew arrived about 15 minutes earlier and immediately got to work.  Both my wife & i were at work that day but I got a call around 4:30pm that they were done.  Arrived home & team was finishing up clean up.  Greg was right! about 55 holes throughout the house.  Clean up wasn't too bad. Office called later that evening to let me know that we would be inspected next day & they would call in morning with the window.
Day Two - Office called as promised with our inspection window.  Passed inspection and I called Greg to let him know so we could get on the drywall schedule for next day.  Got a call from office again later in afternoon to confirm that the drywall team would be at house next morning.
Day Three - Drywall team turned up on time at 8:00am and were confident of being finished that day around 4-4:30pm.  At 6:00pm they were still there working.  By the time I got home they had left but the house was still extremely dirty.  Dust everywhere, dirty footprints across floors and dusty hand prints across cabinets, front door and fridge.  Got a call from office that final inspection would be the next day.  I mentioned state of house, and customer service said that cleaning wasn't their responsibility.  Wasn't expecting no clean up but definitely not what was left behind.
Day Four - Inspector turned up 5 minutes before the office called to let me know our window! Unfortunately, we didn't pass inspection as the drywall team had missed several holes behind the fridge.  I called office and the crew came out a few hours later and fixed those holes.  Call office to let them know & we got on city's schedule for next day.
Day Five - City inspector came out and we passed final inspection.
The GOOD : Great communication from the office in regards to crews schedule and city inspections.  Two or three calls each day outlining next steps.  Repiping team did a great job and were clean and done in a day.  Price was very reasonable based on the work done.
The BAD : The state of the house at the end of the job.  As I said I wasn't expecting complete cleaning but if the areas had been properly taped off then the dust should not have migrated as much as it did.  The drywall team seemed to move way to fast.  There was texture on molding, picture frames, vase and inside cabinets on walls where there were no holes. It seemed as though they had to finish in one day and really rushed to get done. Outside they ended up going over some colored stucco that wasn't even close to the holes that needed to be patched & i don't have the paint to match.  Also found that my automatic sprinklers no longer worked in my back yard after they had left.  I sent Greg an email in regards to the sprinklers and mess that was left and got no direct response from him just a call from the office concerning the sprinklers. They sent out a supervisor who arrived more than 30 mins late (with no phone call) and he said there was pressure to the valves and he would fix it.  I had left for work and when I came home system still doesn't work and I have received no phone call or follow up. The great communication seemed to stop once the final payment was received.
Overall, a mixed experience.  I would recommend Repipe 1 but only with reservations to their follow up once the work is complete and the cleanliness the house is left in.

01/18/16:  I was contacted by one of the managers from Repipe shortly after the review was posted and he seem genuinely concerned in regards to the lack of follow up.  We agreed on a resolution that works for both us.  Really appreciated the service and follow up.

    All Clear Environmental Inc
The job was done on time at quoted price. The technician was professional and left the work site clean. They provided me with all necessary documentation required by the HOA.  I could not ask for more. This was a small job, so the pricing was based on a minimum. I will definitely use this company in the future. A word of advice from my own experience with this type of job:  Asbestos testing can be costly, especially to meet California standards which can be up to 10x higher that federal standards. Some testing companies will not tell you this in advance. My suggestion for small abatement jobs is to skip the testing and just abate if you believe there is a reasonable chance that asbestos is present.

    Rainbow International of Orange County
The Rainbow technicians arrived on time and immediately checked out the fans.  They found no mold and explained that it was only lint and dust that I was seeing.  There was no charge for their service.  Cesar (one of the technicians) was very professional, explained everything to me, gave me some good advice about bathroom fans & left brochure information I could refer to in the future.  I was very pleased!!!

    Same Day Mold Testing Inc
The companies that did business in my area they were eager to have my business as opposed to somebody else that I called who was not on Angie's list. They were very prompt, very thorough and the report that they produced was very well done. I was happy with them and I am quite satisfied. I still have one question that I need to call him about, but I haven't had time to do it yet. I would use them again.
