Eye Care reviews in Laguna Hills

    Omar Krad MD
Great! The staff, as always, was friendly and professional. Although I did not see Dr. Krad at this particular visit, I did interact with his ophthalmic assistant who is super. I'm not a big fan of the visual field test. I find it rather nerve wracking. The assistant was reassuring and caring. Dr. Krad himself is a wonderful doctor who is very effective in communicating with the patient. I highly recommmend this office.

    Harvard Eye Associates
First of all, let me say that I'd been going to Harvard Eye Associates for about ten years and had seen at least four of the ophthalmologists for annual visits, etc. For the cataract and repair surgery, I contacted the surgical scheduler, as instructed, and when I received the paperwork, I saw that the doctor was going to treat my non-scarred eye first, which made no sense to me. If something catastrophic (blindness) occurred to my left eye due to the procedure, I'd be left with my scarred (poorer vision) eye. I spoke to the scheduler of this concern and was told she could get the doctor to do my right eye first if I wanted (yikes!). I began to have second thoughts about the whole thing, especially because when I had my exam, I felt a negative "gut" feeling about the doctor, that something about him didn't seem right. I had shrugged it off since his qualifications (I had earlier researched) appeared outstanding. I soon re-contacted the scheduler and told her I was going to hold off on the surgery for the moment and would call if and when I was ready. By the way, you would think that all of the doctors would have attended Harvard Medical School because of the name of the group (Harvard Eye Associates). If you check their website, you'll see that only three of the ten doctors only did their residency at an AFFILIATE of Harvard Medical School, "Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary", and did not attend Harvard for their MD's... which says to me that the name of the group is a total sham... obviously (in my opinion) wanting people to believe that all of the doctors are Harvard Medical School grads, which can be impressive to lots of people, including myself. I then checked out a couple of other local eye physicians through friends and other sources but did not find any to my satisfaction. I decided to check out The (world-renowned) Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA (about 70 miles from my home). I decided on what appeared to be the top glaucoma and cataract expert at the institute, and it took two months to be able to see him once I made my appointment. He's obviously in great demand. I finally saw him and will have him do my surgery. I think he's great! He emphatically said I only need the right eye (damaged one) done and that he would not use the expensive implant, under any circumstances, that he Harvard Eye physician wanted to use "even if someone held a gun to his head!" He said it was not the right choice for my condition even though I'll need to use reading glasses afterwards... which is fine with me. My distance sight will be excellent post surgery which was my main concerned because of amount of automobile driving I do. So there you have it.

Appointments here are always pleasant. Very short wait times to see the doctor or his assistant. Everyone is very friendly. Dr. Krad is very good at explaining test results and providing other information.

    Laguna Hills Mall Optometric Center
The Doctors Goldman are a delight.  I have been a patient for years.  They moved their office out of the mall last year (or the year before?) and I like the new location better.  It is nice to not have to contend with mall parking!  Their new office is in a strip center.  There is parking right outside their office.  Although it's all labeled "15 minute", Dr. Goldman has an agreement with the center that his patients can park in these spots for the duration of their appointments.
Although they tend to run a little late, as most doctors do, I usually get in to see the doctor within 15-20 minutes of my appointment time.  I like both the doctors, although I tend to make my appointments with the "Mr." Dr. Goldman more often because he is who I started with all those years ago.  I have always felt well cared for here; he pays attention to and has obvious concern for my overall health and eye health, answers my questions clearly, and takes as much time as I need.
The staff is friendly, respectful and responsive.  The office is clean and tidy.

    Eifrig, Dr. Charles W.G.
They are very professional, knowledgeable and very conservative in treatment options. They told me everything what I need to know. They also continue to monitor my situation and they have treatment options open in the future.

They have a professional facility and they own all their own modern equipment. People who are out of the area who have procedures done here are set up in a hotel nearby with rides to and from the office, with no out of pocket costs.

First visit I waited about 30 minutes. Second visit I waited about an hour. Had to go ask the desk staff if they were aware I was waiting. Dr. Hovanesian is very competent and efficient. Putting the plugs in was a breeze. He was in a great hurry though, and spoke so quickly it was hard to keep up with him, and he sounded like he had ten cups of coffee for breakfast. I had to remind him that I had come to have my high eye pressure checked as well, as he was out the door. He came back and addressed it. Referred me to the new lady doc, and I saw her. I have a very complex med history, and a lot of allergies. I thought they could have been more careful there. They wanted me to continue to come in for check ups but I returned to my optometrist to have my eyes checked. I would go back there if I felt it was really necessary, but it was not a delightful experience. The last time I was there they just left me sitting in the room for quite a while, and I finally found my way out of the maze on my own. I was confused about what tests they had performed and recommended. I talked to them several times on the phone, and had test results sent to my optometrist. They sent me several letters asking me to return to have my eye pressure checked, but I've been getting it checked at my optometrist's office.

    Tran, Dr. Wendy U.
Dr. Tran conducted a thorough exam and prescribed a salve that resolved the condition. Both my husband have had numerous annual eye exams conducted by Dr. Tran, and we have been very pleased with the quality of care and the pleasant and professional demeanor of her staff.

    Jonathan Pirnazar MD
He is professional and kind. He explained everything and communication was good. His office staff is good and they do what they are supposed to do. They diagnose well and work well with my insurance company to figure things out. If you want the most up to date, efficient, effective practice of cataract removal, see him.

    Manger III, Dr. Charles C.
He was very experienced. He was very detailed and thorough in the directions he gave me. It was fast. It was affordable. The staff was capable. He offers an informational seminar before you decide on surgery. He gave me very detailed information before I decided on my surgery.
