    Everlast Construction
Very honest and friendly people, Hard-working, experienced, skilled, professional and prompt.
I was very thorough and selective about what I wanted, but they took everything in stride and were very professional during the whole process. Ari worked hard to make sure we were happy with the end result. The workers were also very professional, and took extra care of our home. Ari came by almost daily to see how the work was progressing and made sure changes were made when they needed to be made. The result came out better than I anticipated and they even finished earlier than they had originally estimated. I highly recommend Everlast Construction

We had trouble from the start with the plans.  We had the engineer redo them twice to get a doable plan.  In the meantime Maunel dismanteled the old stairway and got the forms in place for the concrete pour.  The plans came in, the inspection passed and the rest of the project went smoothly.
Dry rot kept showing up.  The house was finished in 1958 so we weren't surprised.  The little door with hinges and a latch going to the area under the stairs is really Great.
They were going to throw away the extra insulation and I said I would like to use it under the house.  They said they would stow it in the garage.  I just noticed tonight that they installed it where it needed to go.  I really appreciated it.  They went over and above what was asked of them
The clean up was superb too.

    Callado Concrete
The work came out very nice and I'm quite pleased overall. The finish on the concrete is good, the preparation and laying of the forms and steel reinforcement was excellent. The only consideration a future user should consider is workers comp insurance for his employees. Worth looking into.

The whole job went very quickly once I made up my mind. Everyone knew what they were supposed to do and they had the timing on the concrete pour down pat.
They did leave some things that needed to be picked up after they finished, and a little clean up on the wall. But they came out right away and took care of it.

    Samuels Construction
Paul knows construction and works to best practice and knows and understands all codes. (He has a good and loyal crew.) He worked well as a team player with my structural engineer and with county building inspectors. Gives a lot of attention to special details and is very neat and organized. The dining room was a long project April to October and was plagued by the unusual spring and summer rains of 2011. They developed a tarp system to keep working and shelter our home. The crawl space at our house is horrible so those guys deserve a medal. Can handle an entire house, or come by and replace my hot water heater (last month) or re-do a bad contactors' heating/ducting job. Came on time and stayed on task 99% of time. Good communication skills. When something goes wrong, my first thought is to call Paul. Don't need speed dial as his number is memorized. If you watch Holmes on Homes on HGTV you will think Paul is his brother.

    Lara's Concrete Inc
I purchased this work as one of an Angie's List Big Deal ($149 for $300 of work).  Luis Lara came to our house to give us an estimate for the job which was $850 (less the $300 credit to make it $550 due on completion).  It seems like a fair price given that it took four men four hours each plus the equipment and expertise.  Sixteen man hours calculates out to $53 per hour.  Both Luis at the estimate visit and the crew on the work day were professional and thorough.  We are quite happy with Lara Concrete.

The work was originally scheduled for March 6 but the crew was held up on another job so delayed ours for two days - not a problem for us.  The crew of four men arrived promptly at 8:00 and finished the work by noon.  They did an exceptional job with concrete saws and jack hammers.  They removed all the debris and left the site ready for the next phase.  One thing they did not do was to wipe clean the splatter from the side of the house, windows and door next to where the cuts were made.

    Fleece Construction
I obtained quotes from several licensed contractors with workers comp insurance and Ed came in with the best price. He also seemed very knowledgeable. It was a bit difficult to pin him down on a start date because he was working on another big job, but once he started the work it was done quickly and well. The new concrete matches the existing terrace concrete almost perfectly. The crew were polite, responsive, and did their best to protect the surrounding vegetation. There was no damage. I am happy to recommend Fleece Construction without reservation.

    New Image Landscaping
(note: mine was a large job, but New Image Landscaping will do jobs large and small) New Image landscaping is top-notch, terrific?excellent!!!! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Sergio Gonzalez, owner and licensed contractor, and his crew, without reservation. Sergio Gonzalez is skilled and knowledgeable, efficient and reasonable. But more importantly among contractors, he is reliable and honest! Furthermore, he listens to clients and HEARS all ideas and needs. Although he will propose plans and solutions, he is flexible (e.g., in my case he easily integrated his know-how with my aesthetic needs and the recommendations of my soils engineer). Last but not least, he is infinitely patient (not easy given my oft perfectionist tendencies and detailed approach to things).
