the workmanship was excellent, we didn't even dream our balcony can look so nice, everything was done amazingly, and we love the outcome they showed us all the process. the workers was very polite and they clean after themselves every day to our satisfaction, they took care of our needs every day, they covered the pool so nothing will go in the pool and cleared the trash, they vacuumed the attic before they put the insulation and took pictures to show us how everything looked like every step of the way. nick and sean, the project managers, were very pleasant and willing to respond QUICKLY every time we needed them, they become friends to us and we loved having them in my house, they honest and honorable. i recommend them to my children and friends.

Tom at Prestige construction & design recently did: kitchen, 2 bathrooms, patio, driveway, hallway and our house entry which included: Kitchen: new cabinets, sink and counter-tops, storage Helves above the counters, new range hood and new dishwasher. Bathrooms: New floor, lighting, bathtubs, double sink vanities and new paint. Patio: installing a new awning and repair some cracks in the concrete. Driveway: remove and install new stamp concrete. Hallway and house entry: new paint and crown molding. From the moment I met and spoke to Tom, it was easy work with him and to come to agreements about the design and progress. The work went smoothly and without any problem from beginning to end. He was always responsive and helpful from the first draft until we agreed on the design, find the best fit materials and keep the remodeling project on budget. Tom is a great communicator and he was on top of everything related to the work, inspections, cabinet installation, plumbers, electricians, paint etc. At the end, we did several modifications and the process went smoothly. When we came across some difficulties, Tom was perfect in solving them, until I was pleased with the results. I am happy to recommend Prestige construction & design for their well-mannered, polite, skilled trades, attention to perfection, the subcontractors that were involved as well and most of all to their desire to deliver you what you want.

I would highly recommend Jeff, Sam and their crew at Pacific Pavers. Jeff and Sam always kept me informed of how the job was proceeding; they worked around my schedule, and the crew was very efficient, polite and worked quietly considering the type of job they were performing. The job was also done days faster than had been estimated; which I very much appreciated. I would definitely use them again for any type of paving job.

PVM was great! I highly recommend them as a concrete contractor.
They are family owned business, I met most them from cousins to uncles to brothers and the guy who started it all Dad. All great guys and very personable.
They were very easy to work with and extremely efficient. The job took three days, day one was grating the soil, day two lay down rebar and concrete and day three the retaining wall.
I received four quotes one last year (2013), two this year (2014). Their quote was the lowest not by a little, but by A LOT. The price actually shocked me. I kept thinking to myself if I was going to get screwed. I kept thinking about the old adage, "If it's to good to be true it probably is." Well it wasn't. I felt the price was very fair for the amount of work.
Not only were they the lowest, but the quality of work impeccable. Needless to say the concrete looks great! But they also when above and beyond.
They cleared out over grown bushes in the concrete area, and took them away. They also cleaned up after themselves.  I had some random large stones and bricks laying around the yard. They help me move the larger stones, place them in an orderly stack, and took away my old bricks and random pieces of concrete laying around. My house actually looked cleaner and neater after they left. Honestly, there was nothing else that I need to do to clean up.
They rinsed the concrete making sure they didn't leave any mud on the new concrete, and also cleaned the driveway removing any muddy footsteps.
    Great work!

I have had my home insurance company come out to my property for evaluation and one of there requests for renewal of insurance was to have my driveway fixed. I have to admit that my old driveway was in very bad condition and was a serious hazard. I have been delaying the driveway work for some time now because I couldn't find the right company for the job. Unfortunately, all my previous experience with contractors was very poor. Including big companies like "Home Depot".

I had interviewed several companies and decided to have the work done with Eco Friendly Construction. The company sent out two of their project managers named Zion and David. They were very friendly and professional. What I liked about them is that unlike other companies they were not pushing me to commit. I have reviewed all my options and decided to give the work to Eco Friendly Construction and I am so happy I did!

Zion, David and the crew arrived on time everyday as promised. All of the workers and especially Adrian were very nice and polite. The company provided a portable toilet and that was new to me. They demolished my old driveway and removed all the trash that same day. We found out later on that there were a lot more roots than we anticipated. Zion and David took care of it and did not charge me extra for it although it was not agreed upon before. They took the extra mile and even trimmed off the tree branches that were touching my roof. I was very much impressed! They installed an emergency gas shut off valve for free to make my home a safer environment.

Overall the job was done to my satisfaction. I liked the clean up which was done daily. The project was done in a timely manner. I am very happy that I chose Eco Friendly Construction and the least I can do is to share my good experience here. I would highly recommend this company to anyone that needs work done. This company takes pride in their work and today that is unfortunately rare.

I would like to thank you Zion and David for working at my pace and truly caring for me. I will definitely work with you and your company again.
    Thank you,
    Glenda J Wright

On the morning of Sep 22, 2011, I telephoned Val & he came out to the house the same afternoon to meet with us & give us an estimate to replace our driveway and walkway.   On Oct 8, I notified Val that we would like Falkon to replace our driveway & walkway.  When I reminded Val that we wanted the driveway apron replaced and that a permit would need to be taken out for that portion of the driveway, his demeanor changed from one of eagerness to one of being imposed upon.  I became aware that Falkon's contract states that: "All required permits, architectural, structural and planning documents will be at the expense and responsibility of owner, unless otherwise pre-negotiated terms are set by owner and performing contractor on written contract".  As a result, we ended up driving to the County Public Works office to pick up the permit.  In my other dealings with contractors, it was the contractor that picked up the permit as a part of the permit process.

Demolition of the driveway and walkway was scheduled for Sat., Oct 22nd at 8:00 am.  At 7:30 am Val arrived and we discussed what was to be done that day.  Val's demolition person was running late and didn't arrive until 9:00 am and when he did arrive he did not have a sledge hammer to demolish the walkway steps.  As a result, three steps of the walkway were not demolished.  I later found out that Val unilaterally decided not demolish them since they were going to be tiled over.

On Mon., Oct 24, Val's team arrived at 7:30 am and work began at 8:00 am.  We talked about the walkway and making the new steps 4 to 5" high instead of making them the same height as the original steps.  On Mon. and Tues., the rebar was installed, Val picked up the tile that we had ordered, and the tile was laid down over that portion of the walkway that hadn't been demolished.  On Wed., the driveway was poured.  During the pouring of the driveway our backyard hose was used and the connecting PVC pipe pulled out from its connection causing water to bubble out all over the place creating a muddy mess.  I would not be writing about this except that there was no reason to stretch our garden hose to the point that the PVC pipe was pulled out of its socket because Falkon had brought a hose to the worksite and could have connected it to the end of our hose.  Val's brother did glue back the PVC pipe, but we were left cleaning up the muddy mess.

One other thing that we found irksome was that Val had us calling the County to inform the inspector that the driveway was ready for inspection.  When we called the County, the person at the County wondered why we were calling.  He said that we shouldn't be calling that it is the responsibility of the contractor to call.

Despite the ups and downs of this project, we are very pleased with the work.  The driveway looks great and is a big improvement over the old one.  The water no longer stands and builds up in the driveway.  We are also very pleased with the way the walkway turned out and the tile work; in fact, we had Falkon come back in December to tile the new steps that were not tiled over in Oct.  During this second job, we were short a few tiles, but Val picked up the tiles that we needed and didn't charge us.  Thanks Val.

On Sep. 22, 2011 at approx. 8:10 am I called 323-821-9271 and spoke w/a woman who told me that "they" don't open until 10:00 am (even though the services hours on Angie's List & on the company website are listed as being 6:00 am to 6:00 pm).  At approx. 1:00 pm, I Googled the company name to get the phone number and discovered the number was different (562-941-1601) [I later realized that there are two websites pvmconcrete.com & pvmpavers.com both having the same contractor's license of 432966].  At approx. 1:20 pm, I spoke with Paul and arranged a meeting for the following day between 11:00 am and 12:00 noon to provide an estimate.  Paul never showed.  At 12:35 pm I sent PVM, via Angie's List, an e-mail regarding the no show.  At 5:30 pm, I received a phone call from Paul apologizing for not showing up.  He stated that he had written my name, address, and telephone number on the back of a receipt and lost the receipt.  Having recently been a burglary victim I found this news alarming, upsetting, and very unprofessional.  Against my better judgment, I scheduled an appointment for an estimate the following day at 11:00 am.  Paul arrived on time.  Initially, Paul was not going to provide us with an estimate because we didn't know what kind of stone we wanted to use for our walkway and as a result he couldn't estimate the cost of the stone.  Paul didn't come with sample stone like some of the other contractors; instead, he asked us to go to a local building supply store, select the stone we like, call him back with a price, and he would then fax us his estimate.  Apparently, Paul changed his mind about the estimate because two days later he faxed his estimate to us excluding the cost of the stone.

On Sep 22, 2010 at approx. 8:15 am, I spoke with Ron Leon and scheduled an apptointment for an estimate the following Tuesday at 2:00 pm.  Prior to our apptointment., Ron e-mailed me his references and pictures of previous work performed.  Ron arrived on time, he appeared to be very knowledgeable about concrete, and he was very professional. Three days later Ron returned to my home with an estimate and schematic drawings of the work his was proposing.  Unfortunately, Ron's estimate was almost twice as much as the other three estimates we had received.  When we informed Ron that his estimate was more than the others, he talked to us about other options.  For example, instead of removing the existing concrete walkway, he would repair the cracks in the walkway and instead of laying tile stone on top of the walkway he wouldn't do that at all.   We agreed to have him come back with a revised estimate.  However, his revised estimate was still more than the other estimates that we had received and these estimates included the removal of the existing concrete walkway and the installation of tile stone.  Of the four concrete companies I contacted to get an estimate, Ron was the most personable, informative, and professional.  I would have hired Ron if his estimate was more in line with the others that we had received.

On Sep 23, 2011 at approx. 2:00 pm, I called Ben Castro Masonry to arrange for someone to come out and provide me with an estimate on removing and replacing my concrete driveway and walkway.  The woman who answered the phone and took my information was professional and informed me that she thought that an estimator could come out the same day but that she would have to call him to confirm that this was possible.  After taking my information she said that she would call me right back.  Within 5 minutes, I received a call back and she said that the estimator could be out to my home around 6:30 pm.  When I questioned her about the time and the fact that it was getting dark earlier and that I didn't think that there would be enough light out, she said no that he would be out at 6:30 pm and that there would be enough light.  The estimator, Ben Castro, did not show up at 6:30 pm.  At approx. 7:00 pm, I called and left a message inquiring whether he was on his way.  At approx. 7:10 pm I received a call from Ben Castro saying that he was few blocks from my home.  What really irritates me about this whole process is that the estimate was performed in the dark and it became apparent during the estimating process that Ben had gone home to eat dinner and that this was the reason that he was late.  I put off my own dinner to meet with him at 6:30 pm figuring that the whole process would take 1/2 to 1 hour.  Instead, I ended up eating my own dinner at 9:00 pm.  If someone can't make an appointment the very least they can do is call.  If I had known that he couldn't make it at 6:30 pm, I would have rescheduled the appointment.  I found Ben Castro's behavior both inconsiderate and unprofessional.

It went extremely well.  Mike (owner) is very honest and knowledgeable. He and his crew performed high quality work using best methods.  The price was competitive.  Crew was highly skilled and cleaned up areas perfectly over the 3 days of work on a long steep driveway.  Mike supervised the entire process every day.  It was a pleasure having them work on this project, it could not have gone better!  I will absolutely hire them again for other concrete and retainer wall projects we have planned in the future.
