    Integrity Restoration, Inc.
Because of a water leak, we lost the use of two bathrooms. I was not looking forward to the reconstruction. I contacted Integrity Restoration and they immediately were on the job. Cindi came out to do the estimation and then assigned Patrick as the contractor. Patrick saw to it that everything ran smoothly and that the work was done correctly. All the workers, especially Marcelo, were on time, neat, clean, courteous and performed their job extremely well. I would highly recommend them.

    Joe's Hardwood Floors, Inc.
Dustin and his crew did an excellent job! They showed up on time every day, provided options when the project experienced a few "hiccups" (through no fault of theirs) and left the house cleaner than it was when they started the job!

They were great. It was worth the money. The quality was very good. The materials were very good and they were very professional in their installation and attention to detail. The workers were both excellent. Nuno was very informative and knowledgeable. Judy was the owner.

    A-Team Residential Remodeling
Jeff is the best and I heartily recommend him and A Team. He is honest, works hard, meets deadlines, doesn't try to play games on costs and produces very high quality work. He tells you if he goofs up (which he rarely does) and fixes it. If there is something truly beyond the original scope, he let's you know and let's you know how adding it affects schedule and cost. I had this work done in Southern California while living in England. Jeff worked with me remotely, sent LOTS of pictures and made sure I knew what was going on. Doing a local job with him would be a breeze. I'm very happy to give a direct reference if you want and Jeff has my contact details. There are no reservations or caveats in my positive review.

    Superior Kitchen & Bath, Inc.
Tom was great to work with, from the concept to completion. He helped us figure out what was possible and what wasn't, guided us on which products to select, ensured the kitchen cabinets would work out right and many other small tasks that made the overall result fantastic.  He stayed on time and on budget with good quality.  It is rare to get all three of these attributes.  We were able to live in our home during this renovation, at times cooking on a camp stove with a garden hose as our water supply when the kitchen was only studs.  The crew were careful to contain the dust (as much as possible), clean up and secure the property at the end of the day, respect our privacy, work hard and fast, and even play with the dog.
As often happens, things came up during the project that required change orders or add on items.  SKB was always honest with us regarding the additional costs and time it would take. Very professional.  They also broke bad news gently - it was discovered that the studs on one wall of our master bedroom closet were completely rotted and had to be replaced.  A closet renovation was not exactly on our list but it had to happen and now we are glad it did.  The closet is great!
We have called Superior Kitchen and Bath since our project was finished, for recommendations for a plumber and electrician for other outdoor projects and they were helpful in sending us to competent and fairly priced professionals.  Greatly appreciated!
I recently called them for a recommendation for an HVAC person and had the chance to look at Angie's list.  It really saddens me to see 2 reviews that are less than stellar.  Our renovation was completed 3 years ago and we are still happy with it.  Absolutely no issues have arisen.  The work done was high quality, fairly priced and completed on time. We still are thankful we found SKB and will most definitely use them again, if we ever do another project!

    Down To Earth Rug Care
Peter and Jose were prompt, professional, and personable.  They looked at the carpeting, which is older, and showed me some old spots that had previously been cleaned (prior occupants) and explained that my new stains might not come out, but they would try.  They cleaned the carpets thoroughly and the spots did come out completely.  I am thrilled and will definitely use them again.

    Ocean Flooring & Construction
We did get one bid from another company which was $2000 less, but were impressed with the professionalism and detailed nature of the estimate so felt strongly about our choice to go with Ocean Flooring. They listened to  our concerns about baseboards and integrating the floor attractively around two travertine hearths.
Slight hitch in the beginning in getting an initial response after sending a message through Angie's List, but once the connection was made, things were solid.
The flooring we ordered was available sooner than expected so the job began quickly
The two installers were very neat as they worked, cleaning as they went. Super efficient! The job took 4 days (less than what we were originally told) and the floors are absolutely beautiful. Their work is superior.
Only suggestion: Although I have a decent understanding of the process myself (and it was explained on the front end as well) because the demo went more quickly than originally expected, I was not told that we couldn't be in the house until the morning I was expected to leave due to the application of the slab sealer which needs a lengthy drying time. I thought I might have been told this the night before so I could prepare, but that didn't happen.  Although this was resolved politely, finding places for pets and getting a hotel room on sort notice was completely unexpected.
It would be very beneficial to have a one-page print out with a potential time line of the job so that planning can be handled seamlessly.
Otherwise, highly satisfied. Ocean Flooring does excellent work!

    San Diego Flooring Express
The job was perfect. He removed all the carpeting and found out that my floor was not leveled so he worked one extra day to pour cement and make sure everything was leveled and ready for the hardwood floors. Both the bedroom, closet and hallway were done very fast and in a timely manner. He was very professional, left his work place spotless and very clean and the work is perfect! I would recommend him in a heartbeat! Excellent job....AAAA+++++

    Classic Hardwood Floors
I went to Classic based on their listing in Angies List and after having a bad experience trying to deal with Coles.  The Coles salesman didn't seem to know anything about wood floors.  Classic, however, was very knowledgeable and helpful.  I needed to match the existing and new floors and they worked with me to get the best match possible.  The crews were very professional, came on time and took obvious pride in their work.  Floors look great.
I chose a high end wood, and there was considerable demo of existing floors involved, so it was a costly job.  Otherwise I think Classic prices are probably competitive.

Three years ago I purchased a "patio-type" home in a planned community. Having served as an officer in the USAF for over 25 years, I was planning on retiring and wanted to find something to move to when I finished up my last assignment. The property was built in 1973ish time frame and had little done to it over the years. A young couple purchased the property after the original owner passed away and tried to "flip it" by remodeling the kitchen and the two complete baths.  They put in substandard flooring throughout the house (rang like a bell when one dropped anything on it) and attempted to redo the two bathrooms by tiling them over and installing two cheap sink cabinets. The work was so shoddy; one could even see the bar code on the edges of the tile. In my opinion, they ran out of money and were clearly in over their heads.  I knew there was a lot of work to be done but I liked the layout and the location.  I was living in Virginia at the time and was unfamiliar with the San Diego area; especially with the contractor community.  I turned to Angie's List (now I use the List on a nearly daily bases for anything) and looked up contractors.  I found three that seemed to have good references and results.  San Diego Master Craftsmen was the first I contacted and when I called I reached Jon Hammer. He was polite, attentive and was willing to meet me on the three-day window while I was visiting San Diego (a short notice visit). Having been stationed in Hawaii, I grew to like the "bungalow" style homes and hotels there and I have a friends who live in Craftsman style homes, built in the 1900s and early 1920s. I wanted the interior to reflect this style but in a more modern way.  I described this to Jon and he drew up the plans. The proposal was exactly what I wanted, I signed the contract and gave him the keys to the place and left to return to Virginia. The point here is that I did not even consult with the other two contractors and I trusted him to do the job without any supervision on my part (perhaps a little reckless). I was not disappointed! Everything turned out exactly as I had hoped and envisioned; it was uncanny. His work was so well done, it made the shabby work done earlier (the original "selling points") appear even worse.  I could not even look at the master bath and enlisted Jon to redo it.  Again, I gave Jon the keys and again he did not disappoint. SD Master Craftsmen is a little on the expensive side but for me and my situation, I could not be happier. I trusted Jon, his opinions and he delivered.  I am now retired and living in beautiful surroundings; San Diego is beautiful as well! Clearly I would have Jon and San Diego Master Craftsmen back...the guest bath still needs some work. Jon was always receptive; answered calls immediately or returned calls within the day; and he was clear regarding costs. Jon is proud of his work and frank about what is required. There were few delays (in my case it did not matter) and if there were delays, they were due to the fabrication of the shutters; clearly outside of his control. I had concerns with the master bath project (the second project) because I had some furniture and carpets now in the house; not to mention new wood floors and newly painted walls. I knew that retiling and plumbing, etc. could be dusty and dirty.  Jon wrapped and protected everything before starting and there was no indication that workers had been there after the project. I have been very happy with San Diego Master Craftsmen!
