  • The mark of a good company is not how they handle things when everything goes right, but how they handle things when things go wrong. I live in a 100 year old house, and old houses have surprises. On two occasions, my house gave Alpha a little more than they were expecting, and both times, they stepped up and proved why they have the reputation they do. The first time, the footing under my kitchen was undermined, and they intended to put two concrete pads in to fix it. When they realized their initial plans to fix it weren't quite sufficient, they brought out one of their in house engineers, and they built Fort Knox (in a good way) under the kitchen. The kitchen of my house is probably the most secure part of my house now. It will survive the Apocalypse. Then, they were contracted to fix the the stairs in the back of my property. The side of the stairs was separating from the stairs themselves, and Alpha was contracted to replace the wall. But when they removed it, they found the the old stairs there were just a thin layer of concrete over loose rock, which spilled out undermining them. It's something they never could have seen or known from the outside. Mark, one of the bosses of the company came out and looked at it, and had them replace the entire stairs, which now look amazing and are very safe for my children. I also can't say enough how on top of it the people were. Dieter, their supervisor, was amazing. He stopped by frequently to make sure everything was on track and up to standards. You'd hear him pulling up on his motorcycle, and if you had questions, he'd talk through everything that was going on with you. (And be very patient with you about the questions.) When there were job hiccups, he just let me know that they had it under control and was unflappable. He always told me things were going to be fine, and then took care of it. His crews were professional, considerate, hard working, and polite. If you get any of the guys I had, you're in good hands: -Oscar and Marlon did an amazing job on the kitchen underpinning, bolting, and sheerwalling my basement. -Gregorio, Jonathan, and Henry were excellent, and replaced my stairs. (And Gregorio, in particular, is an artist with cement.) Both crews made me realize how consistently good the quality of the work done by this company is. I highly recommend Alpha, especially if you work with any of these crews.

  • Ariel is an honest man, very friendly, keeps his word. His work has a lifetime guarantee and His team Marvin and the electricians were always professional, always fixed any problems and kept everything very clean. Ariel was always there to answer questions and he took care of all permits. The work was done quickly so that we can move in. I would highly recommend this company, especially for a big job, you can trust them, no hidden fees. I'm glad I found them on Angie's list.

  • My mom's a general contractor/homebuilder back in Florida, and she came out to help us with the work. She LOVED Ramin. She said "That guy is GOOD." That's high praise coming from her. Ramin was called out to consult on two different questions, but my Mom, being the perfectionist she was, asked him a million questions, and he wasn't put out at all, he was lovely and knowledgeable, and told her some really smart stuff. She was impressed, and so was I.

  • I contacted Art about printing some door hangers for me in early February. He with the help of his Graphic Artist were able to come up with a beautiful design in a very short time. The door hanger looks great and the printing was done quickly and at a reasonable price.

  • He was very responsive and professional.  One of the very few welders I
contacted who even bothered to come to take a look at the job.  He is a
hard worker and easy to work with.

  • I originally was getting bids on replacing windows, replacing stucco, and removing popcorn ceilings.   I had also mentioned that I thought I had a problem with the foundation since I felt that house was no longer level.  I had received two other bids from different contractors.  However, when I mentioned potential problems with the foundation, no attention was given to the issue.  Y.O.R.  Construction happened to call and ask if I needed any remodeling etc. to be done.  I decided to go ahead and have them come out and give me a bid.  Kobe (owner) asked when I would like to schedule an appointment.  I gave a date convenient for me (a couple of days) and Kobe was prompt in coming to the appointment.  I told him all that I wanted done and the bid was less than the previous bids.  I also told him that I thought I had a problem with the foundation.  Unlike the other two companies, he immediately called one of his managers to come over and look at the raised foundation.  This was impressive.  Kobe was the only contractor that listened to what was said.  The foundation needed to be worked on.  We agreed that it needed to be repaired.  He called an engineer that came the next day and agreed that worked needed to be done.  He gave me an cost estimate, less than a week passed and we had a city permit for the work and the cost was what he had stated.

The impressive part about  Kobe is that he explains everything, gives alternatives, saves you money where he can and met the code requirements and more. Checks on the work almost everyday, he may have missed two days out of the 2 1/2 weeks of talks and construction.  Very professional, does not insist on having the contract signed on the spot.  He gives you time to decide without being pushy.   I was also comfortable with him, as opposed to the other two individuals from the other companies.
The crew that worked on my house were prompt , polite, worked hard.
I will use them for my stucco, windows etc.

  • After a while, none of the mail sent to us at this UPS Store was kept, forwarded to us, or returned to sender. The result was that an important bill sent to our box did not reach us and ended up with an attorney costing us extra fees.  I was told by a UPS Store employee that our box had in fact been CANCELLED. Speaking with the manager JB, he refused a refund.  He said we were not on the mail forward list and that we had not been receiving ANY mail at the box for an entire year! I have confirmation in writing that 2 companies used this address.

  • Jack goes the extra mile for customers. He accepted the job immediately and fixed the chairs within 24 hours. Although it required no welding, he improvised a solution to the problem by fitting another metal piece to the broken place, drilling new holes, and bolting everything well. His telephone communication was prompt, courteous, and complete. He saved us a lot of money compared to buying new chairs, which would not have matched the original. Price was very reasonable. GREAT experience!

  • She is a fantastic piano teacher. She teaches in her home in western Glendale and has a room with 2 pianos. The lessons are half an hour and cost $25 per lesson. We pay on a monthly basis. She also arranges recitals for the students about twice a year. She is very dedicated to her students and to music education.
