    Camacho Gardening Service
He found broken sprinklers, valves and updated a broken 20 year old Rainbird clock which I can control from my phone. He arrived when he was expected, guaranteed his work, and came back when one sprinkler was faulty. I have hired him to return once a year to check the water system. I highly recommend him.

    Yepez Services Inc
Yepez Services Inc. did first-rate work clearing overgrowth on a challenging hillside at my residential property and trimming protected oaks (theyre City-certified). They took the time to seal the fresh cuts on the oak limbs (most other trimmers dont bother) and they were careful to preserve viable plants so the hillside now looks ready for a two-reel Western. The crews worked hard and were polite, theres an office manager who is easy to get ahold of, and the owner is easy to work with. Its worth noting that the work wasnt needlessly loud, and they even avoided disturbing me or the neighborhood with a wood chipper by carting away the clippings.

    Professional Tree Service
Called Jose over to provide an estimate. He seemed nice and offered a decent quote, but never followed up. I called multiple times and he promised to follow-up but never did. It's natural not to be able to complete a job due to scheduling, but don't make promises that you can't keep. I would definitely not hire somebody who shows such a lack of responsiveness and professionalism.

    Automatic Sprinkler Controls Inc
Automatic Sprinkler Controls did a very nice job rehabilitating a complex irrigation system on my hillside property while addressing other landscaping tasks. And the crew worked so hard that it seemed like there 3 guys on the job instead of 2. Communication skills were way above average and everyone had a great attitude. Owner Marty was easy to work with and brought a lot of experience to the project, offering solutions Id never imagined. It was money well spent.

    Brandons Landscapes, Inc.
Dealing with Brandons Landscapes was a huge disappointment. Last August, Brandons Landscapes contracted with me to perform extensive landscaping on my property. During his initial visit, the owner assured me that their lead-time would be 4 or 5 weeks between contract-signing and the start of work, with the understanding that that period might be a bit longer given unexpected circumstances with preceding jobs. But after that the owner would never speak to me again, and weeks turned into months still with no start date scheduled as the Holidays appeared on the horizon. Most frustrating was the nothing-burgers I was fed by the office manager in reply to my requests for a start date; an irksome talk-to-the-hand attitude Id never experienced with any other contractor, well-reputed or not. And while I waited in good faith for them to act, it became more and more apparent that Brandons Landscapes was not interested in making me a happy customer, if they indeed had any intention of fulfilling our contract at all, because by then it sure didnt look like it. In fact, the only effective action they took during our business relationship was the prompt refund of my deposit upon request. That didn't give me back the time, though.

    Johnson Tree Service
Jeff was the best person to work with--he was so friendly and professional from the beginning to the end. His crew is very respectful and super-hard-working. He even paid for a small damage done to our gate while they were working. They even came back when there were some more trimmings to be done. They were very understanding and helped us from beginning to end. Jeff also helped us navigate some permit processes with the city. He was extremely patient with the whole process. Thank you and definitely would hire again!

4 Seasons Remodeling & Design Inc.
We purchased a house in La Canada last November and when we moved into the house, we understood how much we need to remodel it. We contacted several companies in order to check and see what we want to do and to quote us with a fair price for the work. We had some ideas on what and how to design the spaces. When Jacob arrived to our house, he started throwing ideas and made some sketches. We really loved right away his concepts. His idea was to open the kitchen and merge it to the living room. In addition to that, he designed a den with metal and colored glass doors with a large outdoor deck at the back yard with French doors that opened from the living room. The whole project took about 2.5 months from start to finish and we didnt passed the original budget. Thank you Jacob for building our truly dream house for us! We really love our new house.

    Terra Design
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Wynne Wilson/Terra Design. Ms. Wilson is absent of professionalism and I am not sure that she understands how basic principles associated with business work. For example, the terms we signed with her indicated that payment for invoices was due within 10 days. She invoiced us twice for progress payments the first invoice was issued at the end of the first day of work (a Tuesday), and the second invoice was issued on Friday. On Friday, she demanded payment be submitted on both invoices on Monday (note: she requested progress payments for nearly 90% of the work when we only had one tree planted, no lighting, no installed plants, no mulch). When my husband forgot to leave the checks by the front door as was demanded, she threatened to stop work on our project (she could not afford to go on)! When I got on the phone with her later that day and pointed out her unprofessionalism and other issues with her work (namely, that she told us we needed to build a retaining wall mid-stream in the project when the final plan never indicated that a wall was necessary, and then reversed herself that very same day after finally looking at the area that she thought the wall should be, thereby causing an issue that never needed to exist if she had just done her job and supervised the project), she became irate on the phone with me, all but hanging up on me. She acted as if she was doing us some huge favor by doing the work that we paid her to do. Thankfully, she has an assistant (who was nothing but nice), so I was able to move forward with the project without having to communicate again directly with her. However, by the end of the project, I was so deflated that I just gave up pursuing things that were not executed in accordance with the plan (of which there were many) and I ultimately didnt get want I wanted for my garden. Stay far, far away from Ms. Wilson, and do yourself a favor and hire someone that holds a degree in landscape architecture. I was misled as to her abilities because she was listed as a professional on a list I received through The Theodore Payne Foundation for native plants. However, now I have learned my lesson, and will only hire someone who is a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, of which Ms. Wilson is not.

    Spazio LA
3 years ago I hired Essi Safti (SpazioLA) to remodel my full bath. Bath was totally gutted and re-designed. Essi and his team did such a beautiful job that when my girlfriend was in need of a kitchen remodel there was only one company that I recommended....Spazio. I've never met anyone who takes such a hands-on approach to their work. Essi met with both of us and did a fantastic job of guiding us through the process. They did a great job with customizing her (my girlfriend) ideas with the the space she had. They're attention to detail was remarkable, they always cleaned up after themselves, and they got the job done in timely manner. And the best part - the price was very reasonable! They worked completely within her budget. If you're looking for a home remodeling contractor, look not further. SpazioLA and Essi will be your new best friend.

    Buildcal Landscape
This contractor unexpectedly cancelled our contract on the day work was to start. In my opinion, Arin Dolatian, the owner, displayed poor communication and organizational skills. He cancelled a number of meetings at the last minute, requiring delay and rescheduling as early as his initial appointment. Unfortunately, I didnt recognize these incidents as the red flags they apparently were. While I'm somewhat disappointed, I'm also somewhat relieved. Take a look at the text of the email he sent me cancelling the project at the last minute: "I apologize but unfortunately I have to pass on the project since only today's delay somehow messed up my schedule although I mentioned delivery was today and start job on Friday and port kan can't deliver anything until end of next week and that's the only company I would like to use. Being said, my whole schedules will be messed up and it might take me months to adjust my schedule if I delay my jobs for a week. It would be easier for me to pass on the project rather than rescheduling many of my jobs. Good luck and thank you for understanding"
