I called Moore HVAC to evaluate a heating system that was very uneven -- super hot in some rooms and pretty cool in others.  Since the system hadn't been serviced, I asked them to complete a service at this time, too.  The service tech arrived and completed the service and noted that the uneven heating could be helped if the ductwork was replaced with newer ductwork, which allows for better damper control. He also noted that the old ducts had asbestos in them. At the same time the water heater was shutting off and I asked them to look at that, too.  They checked the water heater but couldn't make it shut off as had been happening; however it stopped shutting off after they worked on it. We made the decision to replace the ducts. Moore HVAC subcontracted the removal of the asbestos ducts with a company that specializes in that. They removed the ducts in one day after sealing off the vents to the house and supplying heaters to provide heat through the night. The next day, Moore arrived to complete the install. They completed this in one day. When they got some dirt on the rugs in one bathroom, they took care of the damage.  The heating is much more even and more comfortable. Everyone I dealt with was helpful and pleasant.  We couldn't be more satisfied.   We will definitely call Moore HVAC for further HVAC needs.

A tenant called on a Friday to report that the thermostat was not working and there was no heat.  I called Mark mid-morning and although he had two other service calls, he made it to the property before 6:00 pm.  He got the furnace working to maintain heat in the house over the weekend (it was going to be very cold) and called to give me an evaluation of the problem along with options for repair.  He was professional, knowledgeable, considerate of cost and took the time to explain the matter so I could make the best decision on how to proceed.  After authorizing the work, he told me when he would replace the thermostat (it took a day to locate from a supplier) and that he would call when the repair was completed.  He did everything exactly the way he said he would.

Over the weekend, another tenant in a nearby city e-mailed me that the hot water heater was going out and was not re-heating for hours after a shower.  As soon as Mark completed the job on the thermostat, I asked if he could look at the water heater.  Since it was some distance, he took the tenant's number to ask questions to try to diagnose the problem before making the trip.  I will submit a separate report, however, the bottom line is that he did a great job there, too.  Of all the service work I have had done in my home and several rentals, he is the best in my book.

The tenant e-mailed to say that the water heater was failing to re-heat for hours after a shower.  Also, she said the house is very cold unless the furnace runs constantly.  Since I had just had such a good experience with his repair work on another rental, I asked Mark if he could take a look.  He called the tenant to try to diagnose with a few questions over the phone since the property was outside the area.  He went the following day and determined the problem was a broken water heater.  I asked him to replace it and he did an excellent job.  I had also asked him to service the furnace since this was a recently acquired property and i had no history or knowledge of the condition of the heating system.  He reported his evaluation to me clearly and completely.  After servicing, he said the furnace should be adequate to keep the house sufficiently heated and comfortable .  I trust his judgement and will not hesitate to call him in the future.

We had ignition problems with a 3 year-old water heater, that had a 12-year warranty. Mark returned my call promptly on a Thursday, could answer all my questions and helped me obtain replacement parts overnight from the manufacturer, so that he could make the repair the next day. The manufacturer held up their end pretty well too, agreed they would overnight the parts. I found it interesting that after talking to Mark on the phone, he had provided so much info that I could have easily hired someone else to do the job, or even tried it myself. But he seemed so confident and knowledgeable, those other possibilities seemed like poor options. It turned out that his predictions that the manufacturer would provide the valve easily, but fight over the thermo-coupler, and that the problem was most likely both parts or just the thermo-coupler, were both correct. He arrived right on-time, performed the work in the time-frame he had given, and didn't make much of a mess (it was a wet job and we were in the garage). Before leaving, he made sure I could reach him all weekend in case something went bad. But it didn't and its been about 6 weeks since the job.
