AGurule Construction llchighly recommend Gurule Construction. The work is top-notch. Jacob and his crew were so easy to work with; professional, hard working, putting attention to detail, responded to calls, suggestions. They really know their stuff. They worked hard to make our project come out just the way we wanted. It came out beautiful. They were always professional, accessible, and strived to do a good job. We will definitely work with them on future projects. We recommend them highly. Thank you Jacob !- MONA R.

ASuperior Home RemodelingSuperior Home Remodeling added garage to our house. They gave us very acceptable price for that job and they also installed roof on our new garage. Isaac was our project manager, he was very helpful and professional. There were some unexpected issues but Isaac resolved everything quickly. The project was finished on time and the price was same as we agreed at the start. We are very happy with our new garage, thank you Superior!!- Brenda B.

FEncore Steel BuildingsSave yourself grief and avoid this company. I am an owner builder (36x60 shop) and was connected with Encore via the broker I used to purchase the kit (The Steel Builder, Chico California: avoid this company too). Below are a few of the issues. Promised repeatedly it would be a five- to six-week delivery time. Actual was ten. First delivery was incomplete (no siding or trim). I was not provided a master manifest and delivery schedule, and therefore was not aware of what was missing. Contacted Encore after about six days to enquire on siding. Many components (about 5%) were mis-marked (didn’t match plans) and lengths of several did not match their labels. A few of the purlin weld tabs on the rigid frame were welded to the wrong side of the mark; about 3/8 inch off. Several items, such as gable end angle to support siding, were not addressed in plans: we fabricated substitute supports from extra base angle. One of the column base plates was not square with the column (frame line 2). Only way to correct this is with shims, which the county inspector said would need to be engineered into the plans. Siding took an additional two weeks to receive, which required me to extend the rental of two scissor lifts ($800 cost). Ridge caps did not arrive until the structure was nearly complete; had to buy $200 worth of tarps to protect exposed insulation from rain. Trim and soffit components. Received partial delivery with unmarked components (they are supposed to be labeled to match the plans). The driver handed me a stack of sticky labels and it took ½ day to figure out where everything went. The building is now done, lift equipment is now gone, and I’ve still not received soffits and eve trim. Comms: Encore representative Ric Solis did what he could to patch things up, but had been thrown into the equation late in the transaction (the original guy left the company). Lastly, I was looking for a US-manufactured building and was originally told this kit was would come from Atwater, California. Ultimately, the rigid frame and components came from Texas but were manufactured in Mexico. I should have asked the specific question, "Is this made in USA?"- Chris C.

FThe Steel BuilderSave yourself grief and avoid this company. I am an owner builder and went through this company to buy a 36x60 shop building. Dan Hayes, the owner, acted as the broker, sourcing the structure from Encore Steel Buildings (avoid this firm as well), roll-up door, man doors, insulation, etc. from other vendors. A lot of confident talk up to the point I wrote the $30,000 check and received the first delivery (which was three weeks late). That is when things fell apart. I only received the rigid frame; no roofing, siding, trim, etc. Unaware that all should have arrived together (didn’t receive a master manifest or delivery schedule), I contacted Dan after about six days to query where when I would receive side and roof sheeting (rigid structure was done). He said I needed to go through Encore. We had major issues with deliveries (items not arriving, mis-directed, late, etc.) as well as problems with Encore (mis-marked, missing, or incorrectly fabricated components). Late deliveries required me to me to extend the rental of two scissor lifts for another month ($800 cost). I requested reimbursement for the lifts; receive no response. Trim and soffit components. It has been two months, the building is now done, rental equipment is now gone, and I’ve still not received soffits and eve trim. Through all of this, Dan Hayes has been nearly silent during dozens of emails regarding vendor/product problems; a non-participant in my troubles. My contract was with The Steel Builder, they received my $30k check, and as the broker Dan was ultimately responsible for the actions of his subcontractors and vendors. He failed; disappointing and costly on my behalf.- Chris C.

AVino General ContractingOne can be assured, when working with Carlos and his team at Wine Valley Construction, that a project will end up exactly as discussed before it starts. We find that to be both refreshing and rare in the construction industry. We found this to be the case when working with Carlos on either a quote/contract basis or on time and materials. For the former, projects came in as budgeted and for the latter, we never once had to question the integrity of invoices, neither time billed nor material cost. Wine Valley Construction always produced high quality of workmanship on all the projects they have undertaken for us; quality with which we were very pleased . We have no reservation in recommending Wine Valley Construction for construction projects big and small.- CHARLES C.

FAC Overhead Garage Door CoThis company is a joke with nothing but lies and really bad customer service. They told me I was getting windows on my doors, which I didn't. ( I was out of town when installed.) The door started having issues, we called they sent someone who was a total dick to my daughter. They "fixed it" then a week later it fell on my head as I was walking out of the garage. Cut my nose open, left a dam scar. And a bump on my head. Called them right away ...did not hear from them for 2 days. Finally the owner came down and promised this and that to take care of the situation. He said ill have the windows installed, etc. That was 2 weeks ago...haven't heard crap from this crap company. So now I have a fucken scar on my nose from crappy installation and didn't even get the fucken door I paid for.- Jose T.

FDURASHEDS8-26-20 …………DURASHEDS as reported to the Federal Trade Commission False advertising and marketing; illegal business practices of fraud and deception because of deliberately misleading the buyer I purchased online from an ONLINE RETAILING company called DURASHEDS thru its website, which I now believe is a SCAMMING company so BEWARE!!!!. DURASHEDS does not have a physical address and does not have its own factory. DURASHEDS is only an online retailer and a scamming company. The website is durasheds.com I was a victim of DURASHEDS because they did not deliver what was advertised and posted on their website which is a FULLY INSTALLED AND WORKING METAL GARAGE. (at the top right side of their website you can read “Buy It Installed”) This is like I ordered online for a pair of Adidas shoes and then Adidas instead of delivering a pair of shoes, delivered only the sole and the body of the shoe for me to put it together. I ordered and fully paid on July 27, 2020 from Durasheds website a 12 x 26 Duramax Steel Garage fully installed. The 48 hours delivery from date of order and full payment, is a promise on their website but never happened. After two excuses, the 12 x 26 Metal Garage I ordered was delivered on August 6, 2020 which is not within 48 hours but after 10 days or after 240 hours from my making the full payment of $5,326.07 BUT ONLY THE METAL MATERIALS DELIVERED AND NOT INSTALLED. This incident should have raised a “Red Flag” to me but at that time, I was still hoping that Durasheds will deliver and perform what I ordered and paid for And then the promise of installation within 10 days from my full payment as advertised and shown on Durasheds’ website “Buy It Installed” did not happen and is not happening. Two weeks have passed from the day I made the full payment and what I got were a lot of excuses and reasons (again) why they cannot install. Meanwhile, Durasheds has all my money. I continuously call and email Durasheds for a total refund of my money for NON-PERFORMANCE OF AN AGREEMENT TO DO but to no avail. Durasheds gave me a name Donald, the Craftsman, to call. I already called a name Donald but he told me he does not work for Durasheds but he knows Durasheds and said “that is how Durasheds operates because they already have your money. They can take their sweet time delaying the installation". A totally Scam operation Again, Durasheds is an ONLINE RETAILING company with no physical address except their 877-658-6569 number and email address, support@durasheds.store, where they can take their "sweet time" to reply back to your questions and inquiries. I already requested a refund of my full payment of $5326.07 and until now 8-26-20, Durasheds is not returning my calls or emails. I am requesting a full refund of the $5326.07 amount because Durasheds have not done anything on what I paid for which is A FULLY INSTALLED 12X26 METAL GARAGE. The materials they delivered to me which are just sitting on my backyard might only cost them $800 to $1000 to buy from their factory source but Durasheds has pocketed my $5326.07. What a scamming company. Beware of this company, DURASHEDS and its website, durasheds.com. Please post and spread the word. Thank you. Stay safe not only from coronavirus but also from scamming people and companies like DURASHEDS JULY PUZON 661-317-4715 bacjuly@yahoo.com- JULY P.

ASo great. Great and quick communication and quick service. Came and did what they said they were gonna do and had it done BEFORE they said it was going to be done. There was no time wasted. Guys came in their company cars, worked, took their lunch, came back and continued until days end. I was quite impressed with the amount of work they completed and how well they did it. The owner came to check on the job and they cleaned up very well at the end of the day. We have had a lot of work done at our house over the years, and they are by far the most efficient, clean and professional. This was a patio replacement. We had an old steel patio and they replaced it with a stunning white aluminum patio, with two fans and an attached gazebo with carriage lights. It is stunning. They went above and beyond on design. The price was also comparable to other estimates i received for just the main patio with no gazebo. So I felt like I got more than what I paid for. Will definitely have them come back to do a full backyard remodel.

FDO NOT HIRE! This person was a waste of time and money and I cannot caution others strongly enough to keep them out of your home. He was completely unprofessional with no time management skills, zero respect for other people’s time, and the quality of his work was terrible. If you haven’t already decided to hire someone else, please read on before you offer this person a job working on your home. When I decide to hire someone to do work on my home it’s generally not because I can’t do the work, it’s because generally speaking a pro can do the work faster and better than I can. This was not the case with this person on either count. First let’s let me explain what I hired him to do. I had a toilet leek in the bathroom off our home office and it damaged the subfloor. The tile shower was in pretty bad shape anyway so I decided that as long as I was going to have the floor torn up, I might as well redo the whole thing. This would require tearing out the tile shower, framing out the wall to accommodate a standard shower pan, moving a drain, repairing the subfloor, installing a new shower kit, installing peel-and-stick vinyl tiles, and replacing the toilet. According to him this would take 4-5 days which is reasonable. We happened to be having out kitchen remodeled at the same time and they were able to tear out our tile countertops, reface the cabinets, install new countertops and install a tile backsplash in the same amount of time in a room that was much larger. So, lets look at his time management first. He started work (several hours late) on January 18 and wasn’t even close to done when I informed him his services were no longer required on March 14 nearly two months later. He virtually never showed up even close to when he committed to. It was always I’ll be there at 9:00 am and then he’d show up no earlier than 2:00 but more often at 3:00 or 4:00 then he’d do an hour or two’s work and then leave. I’ll give you some highlights: 01/18/2020: Message from Funky Monkey: Sorry I can’t get there on time the motor mounts on my car are broken. I’ll be there at noon. He finally got there at 4:00. He was supposed to be there at 9:00 01/19/2020: Phone died, and he overslept didn’t get here until late in the afternoon. 01/20/2020: Motor mounts needed reinforcing, supposed to be here at 9:00 didn’t get here until after 2:00. I regret not firing him then. 01/25/2020: I gave up on trying to get him here by 9:00 so opted for noon. Couldn’t manage that either, didn’t get here until around 3:00. 01/26/2020: Supposed to be here at 9:00, spent most of the day using his car to tow someone else’s car across town to a mechanic. Didn’t get here until well after 3:00 This pattern goes on so at this point I’m just going to share his lame excuses. 02/08/2020: Never even showed up. 02/10/2020: Didn’t show up, had to fix his broken exhaust pipe. 02/16/2020: Didn’t show up due to car problems 02/17/2020: Supposed to show up in mom’s barrowed car at 9:00 showed up around 5:00 Rinse and repeat for a few more weeks . . . Was supposed to show up on 03/12/20 to make sure the bathroom had a working toilet for the crew that was working on my kitchen. He completely forgot and went to Pick-n-Pull instead of coming in to work. At least that’s what his text said. That’s also when I turned a critical eye to work he’d done so far. That’s when I realized how bad a mistake I had made. I can forgive slow work, but when you’re taking your time and still doing a sloppy job you’ve got to go. So, the drywall was some of the worst I’d ever witnessed. Without boring folks with a dissertation on proper drywall I’ll try to share a couple of things good drywall installers know to do. 1.) Use no more mud than you need, less is more. If you use too much, you’re creating extra work in the form of sanding latter. 2.) You should use paper tape on the seams for the inside corners, that’s what keeps them at that nice 90-degree angle, 3.) You use a metal corner bead on the outside corners, again to maintain the 90-degree edge. Yeah, he never got the good drywall memo. He used mesh tape on the inside corners which rounded them out, and on the one outside corner he didn’t bother with a corner bead and that corner tuned out really rounded. Stupid thing is I even bought him a corner bead at his request. It’s still on my carport. Finally, he used half a bag of mud on the seams, way too much. I had to cut the seams on the inside corners and redo the mud because you couldn’t sand all the mud out of the corners. I had to spend 2 hours sanding his sloppy outside corner to get it back to 90-deggrees instead of round. He installed the shower kit before he finished the drywall and then proceeded to imbed parts of it in drywall mud and there’s no practical way to fix that. It looked like the kind of work you’d expect to see from someone who showed up several hours late and rushed to try to get as much done as possible in a short amount of time. Yeah, because it was. He also managed to screw the floor up by cutting the hole for the toilet flange way too big. You see a toilet flange has to be anchored to the floor with screws. Now, you can use a repair kit in some instances however, the hole was too big for that too. He tried putting screws in at an angle, not what a pro would do. I had to cut a square out around the flange, cut some subfloor to fit, use a circle cutter to make the right size hole, bisect the square of subfloor and fit it in under the flange collar. What he did was sure to leek. He got really creative when he tried to level the floor and used concrete patch instead of floor leveling compound. Can you guess what concrete patch is for? Well it’s not for wooden subfloors that’s for sure. And can you guess what wont stick to concrete patch? The peel and stick tiles that I bought to use in the bathroom. I talked to guys at two different hardware stores and the only thing to be done is install sheet vinyl instead. Finally, his complete lack of professionalism. He wasn’t careful with materials at all, the shower walls have scratches because he didn’t bother to cover them while he did the drywall. Really shouldn’t have even put them in until he’d finished with the drywall any way. The shower pan has some gouges in it, and I think I mentioned that imbedded parts of the shower in drywall mud. Lastly, at one point during this whole fiasco the delivery of the shower kit was delayed, and he whined about how the delay was going to create a hardship since he couldn’t be paid until the job was done. So, I paid him for the demolition separately and I shouldn’t have. He wasn’t ready for that show kit when it got here even with the delay. He wasn’t ready for it for weeks after it got here. ****, he wasn’t ready for it even when he installed. To top it all off he had the audacity to charge me the full price for the job after I fired him even though the job wasn’t done. There was no floor in bathroom, shower doors hadn’t been installed, and there was still no toilet in there. Save your time and save your money and hire someone else. If anyone Angie’s list reads these reviews you might want to consider removing this guy before he does any more damage.
