  • Tony handled everything very professionally from start to finish. He was punctual, had great follow-through, made suggestions to help with the project, communicated regularly, and completed the job very quickly. He went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied with the way all the gates looked and worked. He was very helpful and friendly, which set him apart from the other contractors who provided estimates for this project. I would highly recommend him, and our gates look really great!

  •  haven’t had much luck with contractors in the past. When I bought my house 5 years ago and remodeled most of the inside, I tried to keep the cost down and a couple of years later I started to feel that I should have invested a little more to begin with. So when a few months ago I decided to look for a contractor, I thought to prioritize quality over price.

I started looking everywhere and signed up on Angie’s List and researched for a while. A few placed seemed legit, but none had the constant positive reviews that Tony at Nexus Remodeling had. I watched all the very informational videos on his website and also looked him up on Yelp. I found that that the only negative reviews were from people who hadn’t used him because they thought he was too expensive (how can you review someone if you haven’t used his services). The people who wrote positive reviews would mentioned the higher quote but they always, without exemption, said that it was worth every penny. My review will be one of those.

I called Tony and left a message. He called me back within the hour and came by as soon as he could. We walked through the house, I showed him everything. Tony was extremely friendly and had some really great and creative ideas about the Juliet Balcony and the stucco. He gave me an estimate in minutes of $20,000 ($25,000 using elastomeric paint) and that the work would take three weeks. At first I was a bit taken aback by the fact that it wasn’t a detailed and typed estimate breaking everything down. Tony told me that he didn’t work like that, but he assured me that there wouldn’t be any surprise additional cost whatever happened (unless I decided to add work of course) and that he would stay within the three week time frame.

After requesting quotes from other contractors, it took me almost two weeks to make my decision and I was expecting to get calls from Tony pressuring me to go forward with the job, but he never acted as a salesman and was always very gracious, understanding that it was a big expenses and that he wanted to be sure that I was 100% to go forward. I knew in my gut that I could trust him and his work. So I called him and told him I accepted his offer.

The day they started, Tony introduced me to Abraham who was gonna his lead guy. Abraham and his team were also very respectful as well as very talented at his job.

Tony came by everyday and had a great eye for detail. He always had my interest in mind and if anything was a bit off, he had it fixed right away.

I needed to add some indoor painting to what we had already agreed to and Tony very kindly worked with my budget and gave me a great discount on the additional work.

Everything was done perfectly in the timeline he gave me and I know that any fix up that needs to happen, I can call him and his crew will be over in no time.

I highly recommend Tony and his team for their trustworthiness, knowledge and craftsmanship.

All my neighbors were truly impressed with the work and two of them asked me for his contact info.

Tony is now my go to guy.

  • I was very nervous, I had just moved to Los Angeles and bought a home, that was, well, kind of falling apart and I wasn't too sure who to call. I checked out Angie's list and found my "Life Savers", California Construction Center! I started out with just the bathrooms & kitchen remodeling and then half way through that, because I was so pleased, I asked Jonathan if they could do more work, "Of course we can, we can do whatever you want us to do", so with that, I just kept adding projects, new tile floors, new lighting through out the house, new "stamped" concrete and new circular driveway, new roof, with sky lights and solar, new walls, making more room, I just stand back and look at the difference each day and I am SO happy with my "new" house. I'm truly thinking about adding a pool and outdoor kitchen BBQ, for next summer. Thank you, sincerely, California Construction Center, for helping make a really nervous decision turn into such a "calm" one, Jonathan, you and your company are "family" thanks again!

  • Oscar was friendly, personable, I love the new wrought iron gates better then fence/wood deck and wood panel down on the patio, his brother Santos and Javier should get a raise since they put the new gates in which was a tedious hard job to do. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

  • Excellent.  Tom's was $1000 less expensive, gave me a written estimate with a drawing, was punctual in the appointment and a good communicator.   He worked fast and got the fence done in one day.

  • I was getting work done on a vacant apartment.  The Painter was scraping the Juliet balcony threshold when the wood just crumbled and there were hundreds of termites.  I called a termite company in and they treated it,  but I was concerned about the safety of the actual balcony.  While the beams did not have termites, it did have water damage.  I had to have the balcony totally rebuilt.  The wood balasters were also damaged, so wrought iron was our choice.  We live in a Historical neighborhood and I had received permission for a specific design (1920's) for my wrought iron work on another Juliet balcony on the side where I live but never got around to doing it.  That was two years ago.  But since I have to do it on my tenants side, I thought this would be a good time to do ours also.

I looked on Angie's list and called a few wrought iron companies that had good feedback.  Issac was the only one who came out.  The others had me email the design to them so they could bid on it.  But Issac was right there.  Personality Plus.  The best contractor I have ever worked with.  He knew I was in a time crunch since I was trying to get the apartment ready to rent.  He promised me I could look at a sample before the whole railing was completed.  Even though he had to go out of town, he had his wife Sarah and his manager Johnny on top of things.  I went to their shop and was very impressed.  All the workers are great.  Very helpful.  They delivered it and installed it on the day it was promised, and it wasn't an easy job.  These were very heavy pieces that had to be lifted from the outside because they would not go up the curved stairs in the unit.  I am very happy, and so glad I met Issac and his wife. I will be using them again.

  • We shopped around for a while and decided on working with Jason at Artistic Iron Works/SK Welding when we realized his attention to design detail and their quality of work. When we first called Jason we let him know that we live in a historic neighborhood and needed gates which are period-correct (1920s/30s). He visited our home and we walked around to some neighboring homes so he could get a feel of the neighbhorhood. Jason offered great advice on different styles which may work best and presented us with many options (ranging from custom to various catalog designs). We picked a design out of a book (with some modifications, which he readily agreed to) and then he waited very patiently for us while we awaited approval from our historical preservation board. The designs passed HPOZ review with flying colors and Jason's guys promptly went to work fabricating the gates. The gates ended up being even more impressive in person - really high quality solid core iron and intricate fabrication work. His guys then worked diligently to install the gates perfectly, which was challenging given the fact that our 70+ yr old home on a steep hill has irregular walls which needed to be accounted for. Both gates look perfect. They did a great job and we plan to call them again when want some fence work done.

  • Ricardo did excellent work. He came out to give an estimate a few hours after I first called him and arrived on time to install the railing and the work done was exactly what I had expected. I highly recommend him.

  • Luis and Co. were great. Their estimate was right on. They were thorough and included me in every decision. Proceeded to do exactly what they promised, and beautifully. Only complaint is they were a day later than they'd promised to finish, but they did an amazing job.

  • I first made contact with Tony via email. I was pleasantly surprised to receive back a very thoughtful and detailed response. Most contractors don't even bother to respond to emails, so this was one-up for Nexxus straight away. The next day I met with the wrought iron fabricator to go over my ideas and requirements for the job so I could get an estimate. That was a Friday. They contacted me first thing Monday morning with an estimate. Although, it came in a little high because of the type of automated gate motors we chose. I OK'd the estimate because after having a few meetings with Tony and various phone conversations, I really felt that he understood what I wanted and really paid attention to the detail. From start to finish, there wasn't a day I wasn't filled in as to what the status was on the job. The entire job took 2 weeks INCLUDING 4th of July!!The gates are completely custom and we were even able to modify them on-site. But I barely made any changes because they did such an amazing job off the pictures and drawings I gave them to work from. The large gate turned out absolutely gorgeous, and the pedestrian gate is drop dead amazing; both gates mirror each other. The style is a 1920's deco holly woodland curves. I highly recommend Tony and Nexxus Remodeling. He totally exceeded my expectations and was awesome to work with. He has great communication skills and I appreciated his upfront and straight forward info on costs and designs.
