Drain Pipe Installation reviews in Hollywood

  • My house's main drain line to the city sewer completely backed up. My plumber was not able to clear the line, even with a power snake, due to the collapsed clay pipes from my house to the city sewer under the street. He tried to blow a new liner in but could not connect it to the city sewer. So I called Victor's and he came out immediately. After running a camera snake through my drain line, he recommended a pipeburst-style one-piece replacement with a 25 year guarantee. Victor and his crew were prompt, thorough, totally customer service oriented and explained every step. They maintained a clean workspace at all times. Price was very competitive. Mission accomplished...drains are flowing freely now. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had with a home repair crew. I would absolutely recommend Victor's. He is amazing.

  • They were prompt and efficient. They were expensive, but I doubt they were more expensive than anyone else. I liked the supervisor and they got the work done efficiently. They put a camera in the pipe and found the problem right away. I thought they did a thorough job and I would recommend them.

  • I had ongoing problems and had used a well known "rooter" company but the problem kept coming back.   Went to Angie's list
to find a local company actually in business rather than a national company who had a bunch of independent plumbers on speed dial.    Chose Red Lilly and hit the jackpot.   Giovanni came out promptly, snaked the drain from the clean out to the sewer and ran the camera through to show me the forest growing there in my 50 year old drain pipes.   Gave me an estimate of between $5500 and $6500 because of several unknown factors.   My house is not on flat ground so a lot of the work had to be done in very awkward positions.    Also, they had to cut through artificial grass before starting to dig.
They were incredibly careful cutting the grass,  then pulling it up along with the zillion nails that were holding it in place.  They pulled up a section big enough to expose the area needed to be excavated.  They folded that section back onto the existing lawn and covered everything around the area with a tarp.   All of the dirt and the broken pipes with their fabric-like roots were dumped onto the tarp so that all the mess was very well contained.
They replaced the exposed pipes and relined the pipes going under the street to the sewer.   They got to work on time, had a full crew, got in and out with very little noise or mess.  When the crew came to work,  they were neat and clean and even their trucks were clean.   When the job was done, the hole was filled and  the grass was returned to its original position,  nails were replaced  and it looks perfect.   They even brought in the same special sandy gravel for the top layer just as the original supplier had done so the nails held better.
While doing this job,  Giovanni brought to my attention that the horizontal pipes were not in very good shape under the house.
Bear in mind,  these are also 50 year old, cast iron type pipes which are exposed to the elements. I was able to see that a number of them were leaking and many were rusty.  Since we had the ground dug up,  it made a lot of sense to go ahead to
replace them rather than waiting for another year or so and then having to re-dig to attach new ones to the new drains.
The price was $4000 for this part of the job.   In the meantime,  we settled the bill for the first part AND THE PRICE WAS
THE LOW END OF  $5500 ,  NOT THE HIGH END.
Replacing the horizontal pipes required the crew to work on scaffolding which is not easy but they were very efficient and did a great job.
Obviously,  I am very pleased with the work and the efficiency.  I have compared prices and experiences with some of my
neighbors and know that I got a fair deal price wise and much better service.

  • I did not realize that a regular licensed plumber is prohibited from working on sewer pipes under a public right of way (sidewalk) that attach to the city owned main. Only approved companies (Bonded Sewer Contractors) are able to perform this work.
I called the Rooter Drain Expert, Inc.  Adon arrived and spent over an hour analyzing the job.  He used a color camera (clearer than black and white) to show what shape the underground pipes were in.  He also used a water detector instrument (like a Geiger Counter that transmits from the camera head), figuring out the best but most cost efficient way to deal with my problem.   Even though it was at the end of the day, and getting dark, he seemed to have unending energy and a great attitude.
On the appointed day, his team showed up on time and went right to work.  Manny, the supervisor, answered all questions clearly
and in great detail.  They advised me that a liner inside the pipe was the best way to go.  This would avoid digging a long and
deep trench which could be expensive. One of the men, Luis, didn?t even stop for lunch. Their crews are very well trained
and work as a team.  As Manny explained, timing is important because the resin in the liner will harden in just 20
minutes and there is no room for error.  They were precise and professional.  Their finish work was excellent; they cleaned
up and left the job site in better shape than they found it.  Adon returned a day later to make sure
    everything was okay.
I cannot recommend them highly enough.  Their equipment was state of the art.  They will give  discounts for certain groups and  are willing to help out on the price. Their warranty is excellent. They take care of all permits and worked very well with the inspector who came to approve their lining procedures.  I am very, very pleased with this well-run company.  No more roots, no more sewer back-ups.

  • We hired them a couple times. The first time we hired them was concerning a drain by our jacuzzi area. We had a plumber tell us the entire pipe needed to be dug out and replaced, so we hired MVP for a second opinion hoping that wasn't the case.  At first they said they could snake it and were sure that would work, so we had them do it and paid a couple hundred for that. That didn't work and then they said it had to be hydro jetted and they were positive that would work. After trying that they told us the drain needed to be replaced, just like the first company we talked to told us. In essence, we wasted several hundred dollars due to their lack of expertise and lack of any result. They gave us false hope we could save time and money, which actually cost more time and money in the long run. I do have to say though, they were very nice, which is why we gave them another chance against our better judgement.

Most recently we worked with them concerning a sewer backup. Our sewer backed up and our regular plumber was on vacation. We hired MVP to snake the drain (couple hundred dollars) and install a cleanout ($1200). Now several months later, we had another sewer backup which flooded the bathroom and called out our trusted plumber.  According to our plumber they put the clean out in the wrong location and at the wrong angle so it is "useless". He said that the cleanout should have been placed down in another location which would allow any backup overflow to not back up into the house and cause property damage. Our plumber also told us they capped the cleanout in a way they should not have. Due to these errors, when a backup occurs it is flowing back into the house and causing extensive property damage, which we had paid the $1200 to avoid. I will give our plumbers info to Angie's list to validate this, but I don't want to make the plumbers info to the other plumbing company without their permission.

  • I had a problem with water backing up and leaking under the toilet after taking a shower. I looked at Yelp for a plumber with the most reviews/stars and found Showtime. I heard from the plumber within the hour and he came to the site the next day. I thought that it would be an issue of just roots and that cutting the roots out and flushing them down (or pulling them out) would be the end. However, this project ballooned into a $12,000.00 monster finding more problems in five days and being without a sewer and with the plumber digging up the neighbor's yard. I felt that I was "lead down the garden path" as it were. He used the most expensive methods and roto rooting was not on his "menu". I would go to work and get a call from him that he had found MORE trouble and the costs were crazy. I have been had.

  • I chose MOE because of their long-standing reputation in the community, and because Jeff Hachey, who came to do the original estimate, was very knowledgeable and professional in his assessment of my plumbing needs.  I had an unusual situation, where laundry facilities were being installed on the street-level of a three-story home, and the laundry water needed to be routed to an ejector pump located on the third-floor area of the property.  Jeff quickly provided a reasonable estimate, and set up a date for the work to begin.  He kept me informed of all aspects of the project from start to finish, responded very promptly to my questions and concerns, and provided excellent service in that area.  He also assisted me in choosing bath fixtures and products that were suited to my particular needs.  The representatives of MOE, who actually did the work, were Eric and Ronnie.  They were always on time, always professional, and did a fabulous job.  They were always willing to answer any questions, and kept me informed of their progress from beginning to end.  I am very happy with the services that MOE Plumbing has provided to me, and I would highly recommend them to anyone to needs their services.  Their office staff, including Jennifer and Rachel, were always courteous, friendly and helpful, which is greatly appreciated during the stressful moments that accompany even the most modest remodel project.  Kudos to MOE for a job very well done!

  • Grigori answered my call about an unexplained leak that was coming through the top of a door frame.  He pretty quickly diagnosed the problem as a backed up drain from an upper deck in my house.  He said the drain was full of roots and that the pipe itself was the wrong size.  He said the drain pipe had to be replaced, and should be buried -- unlike the one needing replacement.
He quoted me $9000 to remove the pipe on the surface and bury the replacement.  It is an almost straight run of 160 feet, replacing a much shorter run.
He said the cost should be $12000, but since I was on Angie's List, it would be $9000.  A few days later a crew of 2 or 3 men appeared, and the work was completed in 2 days.
The men were neat, and cleaned up after themselves.  They worked quickly.  An electrical problem developed that I thought had been caused by the work.  Grigori came with an electrical contractor and checked it out.  The repair was simple and free.
I feel the pipe could have been more efficiently located.  I feel that two days of 2 men is not worth the high cost incurred.  And I find that
burying the pipe added greatly to the cost, even though it is only about 2" below the surface, and heavy rain will likely uncover it.
I can't believe that someone not on the list would be asked $12000 for this work, as other contractors have since quoted from $2500 - $3500.

  • Problem arose on Saturday night--as always--I called Malcolm Sunday morning bright and early. He came out that day and didn't charge overtime. He was knowledgeable and explained well what the problem was. He ended up charging less than he said he would and gave me options for how to handle the problem.

  • Found white mold in our basement and called Absolute Maintenance from web search recommendations. Cameron Figgins was out THE NEXT DAY and had a crew in immediately and did an extraordinary amount of work in three days. Everything was completed to our total satisfaction at a price we found a great deal. Cannot recommend this company and Cameron highly enough.
