    Jeff G. Pieters & Accocaites
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, POSSIBLY CRIMINAL, STAY AWAY!!!!!!! I'm the owner at 5233 Hub St. You can check that address against the permit applications by Mr. Pieters We hired him January 3, 2017 for a complete remodel of the property. Jeff's bid for the project was $84,000. To date, Mr Pieters as received almost $75,000 of that allocation. Last week he started to replace the roof on the main dwelling, demoing the existing tile and prepping for the new shingle roof. This morning he walked off the job. Currently, there is no roof on the house. There are no fixtures in the bathrooms, the windows aren't installed, the back deck is only 25% complete, the doors aren't hung, the molding isn't in, the bathrooms aren't tiled, no showers or toilets, and there is no roof on the house. Estimates from other contractors range between $25,000 and $35,000 to complete the job. Originally this job was promised a completion time of 4/30/17, I would check in every week as I continued to write Jeff checks and he always told me we were on schedule. By March, I was getting concerned as there was much work still to be done and the estimated completion date was coming within 4 weeks. Jeff then asked to move the completion date to May 26. We agreed. This charade continued until May, when it was obvious we were nowhere near completion, he asked to move to June 15. June 15 came and went and we are still a long ways from completion. Just last week Mr Pieters asked me for an advance of $150 so that he could purchase nails and paint to finish the fence. Hes received almost $74,000 from me yet doesnt have the money to pay for minimal basic materials. He also told me he did not have the money to pay for additional labor help. Jeff has been consistently deceptive in his progress updates and willingly admitted to mismanagement and misallocation of funds. Hes told us on several occasions that hes waiting on another job to start and that when it does hell have the money to pay for materials and labor(materials and labor weve already paid him for). Hes robbing Peter to pay Paul, our money is gone and hes waiting for the next job to come along so that he can use that money to finish our job, and then the cycle will continue. I've filed a claim against his contractors bond, am filing a claim with the state contractors licensing board and will be taking Mr. Pieters to small claims court.

    Kevin Anderson Construction
We started work in October with the hope of the addition being completed by the New Year. Despite a couple minor setbacks, mind-changes, and time off to enjoy the holidays, Kevin was able to deliver. Even more importantly, it was an overall great experience. Kevin is personable and knowledgeable. He knows how to captain his team, always kept us apprised, and provided good advice when we needed it.
Obviously, he doesn't always work with the same subcontractors but we weren't disappointed by any of the subs he used on our project. He always let us know what to expect and made sure we were comfortable with all decisions. Everything was orderly and the disruption was minimal. The billing was clear and straightforward.

    GPO Construction
It went horribly wrong. We initially contacted them in November 2010 for the repairs. They came out pretty quickly to take care of the leaky roof, but everything else took months to fix. When they finally returned to fix the interior where the leak was (2 months later) they did a bad patch up job. They didn't even use the same color paint to cover the ruined drywall. It took them another 2 months to come out to fix the fence. When they did they promised us that they would replace the broken pieces with treated and matching wood to the rest of the fence and would be back 2 days later to do it. A week later they came out and slapped up a piece of wood that is not the same type, color or finish as the rest of the fence. They also refused to fix the wood on the broken garage door, telling us we would have to pay $225 for that repair (a job that a handyman could do with a drill and a couple of screws for less then $50 most likely). I would not recommend this contractor. Taking almost 5 months to fix problems that stemmed from their original workmanship and in the meantime not returning phone calls and being rude to the client proves them to be unprofessional.

The project took approximately 6 months from start to finish, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the final product. James was professional and personally accountable for all aspects of the project. Further proof of James' fine work was reaffirmed when my house was featured on "My House is Worth What" on HGTV; the segment originally aired in October 2008 and the remodel was deemed a success.

While James's table-side manner sometimes left us a wee bit cold, this was clearly outweighed by his professionalism and the craft in his work.

    Again, thank you James.
