    Hollywood Home Improvements
Not one piece of the work was performed professionally or correctly. Everything had to be redone. Boards were cut too short, the shoring up of one part of the deck was done by stacking loose pieces of wood up to wedge in a make-shift support, nails were left jutting out on the top of the deck, and the gate was nailed into place with inadequately small nails. It slid off the nails within two days. When I reported this to Bernie, he asked me what we should do. It was my understanding that he was the handyman, not me. I expected him to have the solutions.

    M.Y. Electrical contractor
There were issues in communication and although the electrical upgrade was neatly done, the electricians failed to place our jacuzzi where I had asked; they placed it on top of a hose and it's too heavy for me to move it now. I'm grateful for their efforts. Again, miscommunication caused more problems for me at the end of the day.

    Martin handyman
Excellent. Martin was so courteous and professional answering the phone. He was able to come on over within the hour, give me an estimate, and started work immediately. His work was professional and he saved the wood molding so that it could be re-installed the correct way and plumb. He also was very careful to damage the wood floor and cleaned up after himself! He will be the only handyman I hire for my condo.

    Honey Do Handyman
I contacted Steve to get a rain barrel set up as well as to have tile put in behind our stove as a backsplash. We first messaged on the 16th and agreed that he would come between 8am and 8:30am on the 23rd to do the work. He then texted me on the 23rd at 7:30am saying that he needed to reschedule because "the guy who I had planned to come there says he doesn't do tile. I thought he did." He had a fully week to find this out in advance. He then asked when would be good for me for him to come back and I responded that I would get back to him... but I didn't and I won't be using his services because I found this late notice and lack of skilled labor unprofessional. I could have had someone else do it during that week.

    O'Malley Construction Co
Randall was an absolute pleasure to work with. Response time was totally reasonable. I don't know why other reviewers have negatively reviewed him due to not calling back. I see this on Angie's list all the time and it shouldn't be an indication of quality of service. If the person or company is too busy to call back, then call someone else on the list! But I digress? Randall was fantastic and we'll be hiring him again in the near future for many other things on our to do list around the house!

    Honey Do Handyman
Everything went wonderfully. He was very accommodating and he worked quickly and efficiently. There were no mistakes. He did a perfect job with what we asked him to do. We even asked him to fix a window and when he wasn't able to, because we needed to order more expensive parts, he gave us a price range and offered to do it once we bought the parts. The house is now looking spic and span because of him and no more creaky doors! I would recommend him to anyone who needs some work done around the house.

    TME Construction Inc
I put together a list of handyman tasks and set up a meeting with Tony to go over them. After going over the work, we made an appointment for a week later and Tony and his crew showed up in force! They methodically went down the list and got everything done with skill and efficiency. I've hired TME for similar work on several previous occasions, and have always been impressed and satisfied with their services.

    Dan the Handyman
Dan the handyman is a real piece of work. He does all the things a bad handyman will do to drive you nuts including: never writing anything down, taking other jobs while not completing yours, complaining about everything, buying the wrong stuff and wasting time, letting his dog freely hangout in your house, not returning your calls and texts, and more I'm probably forgetting!
Dan is capable of pretty good work, but I didn't get much of it. What I did get were a lot of headaches along the way. In retrospect, the job was just too big for this guy and his attention span. If you have to use Dan, by all means make sure it's something you can do in just one day. He built some closets for us and in the process did a real bang-up job on our laminate "wood" floors. The hardest part working with Dan is getting him to finish anything. He will feed you all kinds of excuses if he even responds at all. I shouldn't have kept bugging him to finish and just let him go, but when various parts of a job are incomplete it's no fun looking for someone else either.
In the end, I got a lot of half-a** work. The best work that was done was the electrical and that way by his electrician buddy. Dan cut corners by not finishing the drywall or painting parts of the insides of the closets which he later claimed I said not to worry about. The funny thing is, the whole time he is working he is disparaging the fictional Mexican worker that must have done the lousy work that preceded his. When it was he who did lousy work and ironically it was an excellent Mexican handyman that we hired to fix it all after he was done.
It's also worth noting that this guy is very unstable. He clearly has problems with authority and pretty much the maturity of a 15 year old boy. He can be funny and charming at times and I often found myself feeling sorry for him upon hearing some of his stories. I'm sorry it didn't work out because I was starting to like the guy until he showed his true moody and unreasonable self. The work speaks for itself though and it was sub-par. I can still hear his voice in my head going "You're gonna love my work!" and "Look at my reviews on Angies List!". At least now I can laugh about it all.

    Dan the Handyman
We have been members of Angie's list for 3 months trying to get a handyman to use on a regular basis to complete multiple projects around our fixer house. After much searching, finally we found Dan The Handyman.
He works an 8 hour day for $250 - no fractions thereof, which is fine since we have so much stuff to do. After one cancellation by both us and then him, he and his son came over and gave a good day's work. While no one job was fully completed (i.e. baseboards installed but not caulked or painted, holes patched but not sanded, etc.) we were looking forward to having them back asap to continue. We asked if he could come back the following Saturday and he said he was already booked, so we scheduled him for the Saturday after that. He was supposed to arrive at 9am (no, he can't come any earlier, ever) but he didn't show up. I had called the night before to confirm, and then texted Sat am both before 9am and then again at 915. No answer. When I then called to find out where he was, he told me he was on another job that needed him to come in, and said that it was *my fault* for not having reminded him about this job sooner (although we had scheduled him two weeks earlier)!
I run high end construction jobs, and because of that I don't have the time or the energy (much to my wife's chagrin) to do smaller jobs around the house. Nor do I have the time to run Daniel's business for him -- he should be the one confirming with us. The way a person acts as a businessman (as well as a "handyman") is what creates trust and repeat business on bigger and bigger projects. Being a professional means minding your own schedule and not blaming your clients when you make mistakes. In this business it's equally as important as the quality of actual workmanship. Unfortunately I cannot recommend Daniel -- while his one day of work was decent, it wasn't great and his lack of organization was very disappointing.

Mr. Handyman serving Beverly Hills & Hollywood
I was really happy with the quality and caliber of work. The handyman was punctual, polite, efficient, and an excellent problem solver. Our front door had been sagging for a while, and it had gotten so bad that it wouldn't shut any longer. The handyman removed the door and leveled it out. Now the door opens and closes like a dream! The door that connects to the garage was starting to do the same thing, and he was able to fix that door quickly. He also took a look at some other complicated issues around the house and planned how he would address them on his next visit. I am not someone who knows a lot about home repairs, and it was a huge relief for me to have someone trustworthy take control of the problems. My only small issue is that the price is a bit steep for a couple of hours of work, but it is worth it to me to have a licensed and insured handyman who knows what he's doing. I will definitely be using them again.
