    ARMSCRAFT CONSTRUCTION
I really appreciate the work done by Edgar and his team. We ended up stripping up carpet and completely replacing subfloor--lots of unevenness and squeaking and earlier patches. Then put it in new laminate flooring. Edgar was super responsive and helpful and they got the job done very quickly. Would absolutely use them again. Not rating price because the other bids I got didn't get to point of including subfloor replacement, so I'm not sure how they would measure up.

    J. Baron Construction
This is the second time I have hired J. Baron Construction (JBC). They did such an awesome job remodeling my master bathroom, that I had to have them return. My condo recently flooded due to an upper unit flood. The remodel started out as an insurance job, however I took advantage of this incident and decided to remodel the entire unit. I was so grateful to learn that JBC was very knowledgeable when working with my insurance company. The lead contractor had a lot of patience and was able to guide me in areas of the insurance process that I did not understand. As far as the remodel, well what can I say other than it is FABULOUS!!! This Team always delivers with excellence!! The details in their work is worth every penny. I love the feeling I get every time I open the door to go home. Thank you JBC!!

    Jeff G. Pieters & Accocaites
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, POSSIBLY CRIMINAL, STAY AWAY!!!!!!! I'm the owner at 5233 Hub St. You can check that address against the permit applications by Mr. Pieters We hired him January 3, 2017 for a complete remodel of the property. Jeff's bid for the project was $84,000. To date, Mr Pieters as received almost $75,000 of that allocation. Last week he started to replace the roof on the main dwelling, demoing the existing tile and prepping for the new shingle roof. This morning he walked off the job. Currently, there is no roof on the house. There are no fixtures in the bathrooms, the windows aren't installed, the back deck is only 25% complete, the doors aren't hung, the molding isn't in, the bathrooms aren't tiled, no showers or toilets, and there is no roof on the house. Estimates from other contractors range between $25,000 and $35,000 to complete the job. Originally this job was promised a completion time of 4/30/17, I would check in every week as I continued to write Jeff checks and he always told me we were on schedule. By March, I was getting concerned as there was much work still to be done and the estimated completion date was coming within 4 weeks. Jeff then asked to move the completion date to May 26. We agreed. This charade continued until May, when it was obvious we were nowhere near completion, he asked to move to June 15. June 15 came and went and we are still a long ways from completion. Just last week Mr Pieters asked me for an advance of $150 so that he could purchase nails and paint to finish the fence. Hes received almost $74,000 from me yet doesnt have the money to pay for minimal basic materials. He also told me he did not have the money to pay for additional labor help. Jeff has been consistently deceptive in his progress updates and willingly admitted to mismanagement and misallocation of funds. Hes told us on several occasions that hes waiting on another job to start and that when it does hell have the money to pay for materials and labor(materials and labor weve already paid him for). Hes robbing Peter to pay Paul, our money is gone and hes waiting for the next job to come along so that he can use that money to finish our job, and then the cycle will continue. I've filed a claim against his contractors bond, am filing a claim with the state contractors licensing board and will be taking Mr. Pieters to small claims court.

Danny was great from the beginning.  His communication with me was top notch.  I was not able to be present at the job everyday, and he would provide text and photo updates as each item was completed or if there were questions he needed answers to. His level of professionalism is what I expect from a contractor and he certainly lived up to it.  As the job wound down, he was also very attentive to some final changes as well as the final touches on the project, making sure that I was completely satisfied with the final outcome.  I have already recommended him to friends and would highly recommend him to anyone else.

So Cal Builders & Design Inc
Avi was very professional and has remained so throughout the process offering prompt responses and support to our needs. The construction crew has been courteous while in our house and asked questions when unsure how we wanted details finished. Construction was able to begin immediately after contract was sign and there was no wait time. They did the design and permitting for the removal of a wall in the kitchen which went smoothly. Part of construction also entailed removing the old floor and laying down a new subfloor. This included moving a gas line. They provided many options for cabinets and counters. The quality and look of the final installation is very nice. We supplied all our own appliances, tile, sink and faucet. There were multiple times when we did not have all the right parts needed to install appliances or tile and had to do last minute runs. Luckily we were available to do so, but that may not always be the case so I would make sure you get a clear outline of what is needed on what day in advance. I'm very happy with how the kitchen came out and the service level provided. I would use So Cal Builders for future projects and recommend to others for their needs.

    Cielo Construction Company
I don?t know what could say it better than BEFORE and AFTER pictures: Cielo transformed our house!
This is our first house: we bought an 83 year-old fixer.  The previous owner didn?t do any upkeep, maintenance, repairs, or CLEAN for the 25 years he owned it.  Lots of duct tape, silicone, staples, nails, and string were holding up the previous owner?s special style of decoration and customization.  We had done all we were capable of doing on our own to the inside.  Plaster, paint, tile, electrical, plumbing and some flooring; but, we needed professional help with the outside of the house.
The outside looked SO bad, I saw the robot driving the google maps car pinching it?s nose when it drove by.  When friends would come over I would tell them to look for the haunted house on the right.  Now, with help from Nick and Sam at Cielo, our house looks amazing.
New windows and doors, new stucco, a new roof, some structural repairs to the porch, and lots of little details have given our house the overhaul we were hoping for.  Nick was in constant contact with us throughout the process so we knew what was accomplished everyday and what work would happen the next day.  He kept us informed of progress throughout, including when things like the windows and doors would arrive.  When the job was done, there were a few things we asked them to come back and touch up, and Nick made sure the touch ups were taken care of.

    Preferred Home Builders Inc
Omri planned out everything in detail and communicated those details with the crew. Work was performed every day except for Sundays and when cement and plaster were drying. They got ahead of schedule within the first few days and completed the project early. Cabinet and countertop  installation were provided by the cabinet vendor. The contractor was able to make a last minute schedule adjustment to accommodate the cabinet vendor's schedule. Everything was cleaned up and ready to use on the last day, no debris was left in the backyard.

    Cielo Construction Company
Working with Alfi and Cielo construction was a great experience. Alfi listened to what I wanted to to with my space and was willing to work with my budget to give me the kitchen I really wanted, not just the same space reworked with slightly less cheap cabinets and fixtures than the ones I already had. After my budget was agreed upon Alfi didn't cut corners and just do the minimum code required. He went above good enough, and built a quality space beyond what is visible. This included supporting the now open kitchen with not only one over sized beam, but adding an additional beam perpendicular to level and tie in the ceiling over the old kitchen that was slightly sagging from age. This was all tied in to a new post and footer down through the floor to the foundation. All this structure was hidden in the ceiling and walls without the need for ugly bulkheads. Also, Instead of simply cutting out and replacing damaged sections of the old 1x10 subflooring, Alfi replaced it all with tongue and groove plywood subfloor. Later, When problems arose (as they will when opening up the walls in a 1926 house) Alfi and his team handled the termite and old water damage fully. They didn't try to patch up and cover over the damage. Ultimately, we decided to fully restructure all exterior walls in the kitchen and re stucco the out side. This was an extra cost of course but Alfi didn't use it as an opportunity to gouge me. The additional cost was very fair for the amount of extra work needed.
Throughout the project Alfi handled changes in stride and I never felt like if I wanted to move the sink a foot more to the left or something that it was a huge hassle. Alfi's motto is "I want you to be happy", and that is what he would always say when I would ask "Alfi, can we...?" Alfi would also suggest changes that seemed like more work but ultimately made the space better like moving and re sizing windows.
Also, Alfi has a great team he works with. The quality of their work is exceptional. Roberto and his brother who were two of the main guys on my project were fantastic. They did an excellent job of protecting the rest of my house and cleaning up every day when they were done for the day. Even if they were coming back to the same spot the next day they didn't just drop everything and bail. I was often at work during the renovation and not able to oversee the progress or simply be around for questions, but I never worried, and never had any problems trusting the crew.
Finally, and most importantly Alfi and Sam at Cielo construction are honest and trustworthy. Once we made a deal they stuck to it and the quote din't become this moving target. I will definitely be working with them again on future projects.

    Supreme Remodeling Inc
This was the second time I used Supreme Remodeling. Supreme also remodeled my kitchen in November 2013. Both jobs were incredibly complex given the structural issues present in our lathe and plaster 100+ year old Craftsman with a second floor that was DIY by the former owner into the attic in 1979. The work that Supreme did on both jobs was incredibly thorough and professional. My only complaint was - like any contractor - you have to wait a little while for the job to get started. Nonetheless, Micky and his team always made accommodations to ensure that we were happy with the progress of the project and that it was going according to our design scheme. We have a dog that could not be around the construction so Micky always let us know when a worker would be at our home; and Micky and I usually FaceTimed when there were any questions re: the design or implementation of it. I would not hesitate to use him again, and I have already recommended Supreme to my friends for their major projects and kitchen remodels. You can't go wrong!
