So Cal Builders & Design Inc
I hired So Cal Builders to refinish all of the wood windows, cabinets, floors, doors, and baseboards in my house. In addition, they painted the whole interior of my house, resealed the stone on my patio, and repaired outdoor stone and indoor plumbing. At the end of the job, they returned to touch up, and to ensure everything was completed to my satisfaction. The contract that we signed was very specific, and they completed all parts without ever attempting to add costs. The workers were very skilled, polite and respectful of both our family and our neighbors. They cleaned up at the end of every day, and were meticulous in both their work and clean up. The project manager and foreman were available at all times if I had concerns or questions, and both made frequent visits to the house to ensure the job was being completed at a high standard and in a timely way. My home looks as if it were brand new. I would highly recommend this company for any size home renovation, and I will hire them again when it is time to complete work on the exterior of my house.

    SC Contractors
Joseph showed up on Saturday to quote the job, which he did on the spot, saying it would take a week and they could start the following Monday (2 days later). We agreed and a crew arrived Monday morning. They worked solidly through the week, removing an existing concrete patio, clearing the side passage of gravel and rubble and preparing the ground. Concrete was poured in two stages, to make the job more manageable a get a better result. Some contractors would have done it more cheaply in one pour, but with a lesser result. Everything but the final coat of stucco was completed within the week. They were back on the following Monday to complete the finishing touches. Joseph was always available by phone, or in person, for any questions, minor modifications, etc.

    Gaines General Contracting
This was a major construction project that required us to move out for 4 months during the worst of it and to live on the property for another 4 months during the construction. Adding new construction on to an old house presents many challenges that cannot be foreseen and you need an excellent troubleshooter as your contractor. It's critical your contractor be flexible and most importantly be fair when adding additional work. My house was originally built in 1932, with an addition made in 1998. We bought the house in 2012 and inherited a lot of unknowns below the surface. We did work to the house before we moved in by converting what was a duplex into a single family by demoing one kitchen and updating the other kitchen and bathrooms. So we already knew what we were in for when we embarked on this ambitious addition and we knew it wouldn't be easy so we attempted to plan it out carefully. We had architectural plans drawn up and got city approval ourselves to start construction. At this point, I contracted Gaines General Contracting (Gaines) to add 1000+ new interior square feet plus two roof decks and take me from demo through to Rough Plumbing/Rough Electrical, but eventually as my satisfaction and appreciation of his work grew I contracted Gaines to take me fully to Final Inspection. When we started demo and framing, Gaines quickly found that the architectural plans I had done previously were not complete, missing things like details about additional footings and shear walls. In some cases the drawings on the plans were correct, but the corresponding dimensions of structures, walls or doors were not. Often these omissions or errors required alterations, different materials and even at times new engineering calcs. Gaines identified the issues, worked them out with the architect and engineer, then got city planning approval of the changes. The owner, Michael Gaines was a strategic planner that understood the construction plans better than most, and at times moved mountains to keep the job on schedule and on budget that saved us what would have been wasted work or lost time. When changes or additions happened, something bound to happen on any job of this kind, I am glad to say this is when Gaines really delivered. The honesty and integrity Gaines showed as the project grew was most impressive of all his skills. When new work is added and/or required, this is when typically a contractor can and will gouge you. They know you are in a hurry, they know you don't have time to get multiple bids for a change order and they try to increase their margin the easy way. This NEVER happened with Gaines and is one of the most important reasons I feel compelled to recommend him so strongly. I know enough about construction to be able to manage my own work and hire subcontractors, but in all cases where I tried I could either not get bids that matched the price or the sub to deliver the quality of the subs that Gaines brought to the job. The overall work of Gaines was excellent, Michael kept the job schedule on track. In many cases he under promised and over delivered. Gaines provided for an excellent experience for me and my wife and our two young kids during what is always a stressful time trying to live through construction. I would and will hire Gaines the next time I add to our house, renovate existing or add space to this home or embark on a future investment property.

    G & G Garage Door Co
Without realizing why my garage door had difficulty opening, I ordered the on-line tune-up special.
The true problem was properly diagnosed and fixed at reasonable cost, and my original payment for the on-line special was credited towards the cost of what was ultimately done.
The staff was professional and also willing to discuss some other potential concerns about the garage door, so that I could keep an eye on that to determine when I might need additional help with that in the future.

Fuller Natural Stone & Concrete Care
Larry Fuller is terrific!  He is extremely knowledgeable about his craft and truly cares about the quality of his work.  Even more so, Larry cares if the customer is 100% satisfied by following up a week later.   Great guy to handle your home's stone needs.

    Nexxus Remodeling Inc
I had a previous good experience with Tony and his crews when they repaired water damage to the front of my house. This is the second time I hired Tony because I had confidence in his work. This was a much larger job and I wanted quality work completed in a timely fashion as he had done the first time. Tony insists on quality work and quality appliances. I was not disappointed. There were a few unexpected glitches that he readily took care of at no extra expense and to my satisfaction. His crews were awesome. John, Francisco, Hugo, Abraham and their guys were prompt, courteous, helpful and did superior work. Tony was on site checking up on the crews most days that they were here. Tony is very particular about the work and he would direct the crews to make any changes that he felt could be improved upon. The transformation of my very unfriendly cramped kitchen to an amazing workable, bright and beautiful kitchen was awesome. I absolutely love it. The bathroom is the same. It was very cramped old fashioned and ugly! It is now bright and cheery. The custom cabinets in both rooms are amazing. I can't say how happy I am with everything. My neighbor noticed the work they had done in the patio and she hired him to put in a phantom screen and an iron railing. If you want quality workmanship and quality appliances and materials  then I would recommend hiring Nexxus Remodeling. I live on a walk street and when my neighbors walked by they all made positive comments about the patio, the new porch landing and the jacuzzi. They made a form fitted wooden platform for the jacuzzi. Friends who had a tour of the kitchen were amazed at how much bigger it looked and how beautiful it is. The bathroom was equally appreciated with it's new shower, tiling, glass embellishment and floor tiling.

Thank you to Tony  and all the guys,
    Doris

    Creation Builders Inc

I wanted to do something to my backyard to increase the usable space.  I had originally tried to get a referral from friends but nobody could endorse their contractors. I met with Creation Builders based on their reviews on Angie's List.  I planned to meet with other contractors but after meeting with Leo from Creation Builders, hearing his ideas, and viewing the product, I had a signed contract in hand.  I wanted to replace approximately 650 square feet of deck and grass with stamped concrete.  I also needed to move a hot tub.  Leo suggested pavers as a premium to stamped concrete and offered beautiful options at a reasonable price.  They started work the following week and finished, to my surprise, within 3 days... in time for the 4th of July.  The team was efficient, pleasant, respectful and professional and did beautiful work.  I couldn't be more satisfied with the service provided.

    PARRIS CONCRETE PUMPING
We used Parris Concrete Pumping for an addition to our home in Hermosa Beach. We were in desperate need of a pumper because we were going out of town. We called Parris and spoke with the owner. He immediately put us at ease and explained he would arrange for the concrete delivery and finisher (paid separately from the $250), and he would make sure the work was completed before we went on vacation in a few days. Sure enough, everything worked out just like he promised, and at prices lower than other bids. Everyone was super professional and respectful of our gorgeous backyard and pool area. When they left the site, everything was in pristine condition, and the new slab turned out amazing. We will continue to go to Parris.

    Ramiro Santos
He did a really good job. He recommended a painter and he did a good job too. The two gates were for $700 each and the big gate was $800. He was punctual. He was very careful about what he did. He cleaned up really well and he pulled the trash thing out and cleaned all the old dust that was back there, cleaned the whole street; that’s a condo that we live in. It was quality work and that’s good. He used red wood, it was quality wood. So the price was fine; it seems fair.
