ASo Cal Builders & Design IncWanted to take a couple minutes out of the day to say thank you to SoCal Builders&Design particularly to our contractor, Ilan. He did a great job completing our ADU conversion. Ran into a major hick up due to the whole COVID19 issue but he kept us informed and ensured that work did not stop once construction started. Ilan kept us informed of how the whole process was going to be from start to finish. He did not go over our set budget and numbers didn’t change from what our initial contract was. Even after the job was completed he continued to follow up to ensure everything was good and ensured that he sent out his workers for any small issues that may had come up. Ilan was a very friendly and reliable person. We are very grateful for his help with this home improvement project. AConstruction MastersI highly recommend Construction Masters. We obtained 3 quotes for fully remodeling our Los Angeles home and they were not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. Moshe Cohen got the quote back first with great detail and specificity. He suggested ways for me to save money including using his contractor discount from vendors he used a lot. He was able to start quickly and he finished the job exactly when he said he would. Every week he kept me informed and proactively informed me of substandard wiring once he started that would not pass inspection. Moshe passed through this item without tacking a fee for himself. We selected Avi as our contractor, from several we had interviewed, for the following reasons: 1. His bid was very detailed oriented and we are used to working that way. 2. When we communicated with him, he was very responsive and always addressed our concerns and questions. He even caught mistakes or omissions on our plans. His emails were very well written and easy to understand. 3. He was very professional, punctual, and business-like, yet personable at the same time. We also felt that he really knew what it took to build a home. 4. He was willing to work with us on keeping our costs down by giving us credit for the appliances and flooring that we had already purchased. Avi did not disappoint. The construction went well, and if there was an issue, Avi figured out a solution every time. We would certainly hire him again if the need would arise.- sandy h.

ASOD Home GroupSOD Home Group is seriously the best group of people to work with! They turned around my complete house - kitchens, bathrooms, floors, patio, backyard and studio were all renovated. It was a complete overhaul and a tremendous job. Everything was so well done, but in particular I need to give a shout out to the work they did converting the garage into an open plan studio unit I can now Airbnb. That work is truly beautiful and has been noticed by guests and realtors for its quality! To give you some context–before SOD Home Group redid my house, it was an old house that had been shown little love over the years. The original bathrooms were in such a sad state–the showers leaked into the basement whenever the water ran. There was little to no natural light in the house at all. Eden from SOD Home Group helped me to redesign the entire house to modernize it into a beautiful home! Oren oversaw the entire project for 18 months so really so much credit for this job goes to him (see further down for even more of my recommendation!) We started with the bathrooms, which was a complete overhaul of the tiling, toilet, shower, vanity, etc. For the shower, they tarred and sealed the base of the shower completely–which has turned out beautifully. Then we did the kitchen which again was a complete overhaul job. Cabinets, countertop, appliances, cutting a hole in the wall to accommodate the new countertop island… it was all handled so well! Then we did floors… for the entire house! These floors are gorgeous–they’re treated reclaimed barn wood with beautiful texture and grain. I recommend asking for them to be double waxed (just my preference) because I like to make sure they’re very smooth, but some people prefer the rougher texture under foot. All the walls inside and outside the house were completely painted. We worked hard to figure out the color scheme. Oren has a great sense of color–he was such a great help in this process!!! I went with a simple gray and white for the exterior paint, which let the natural red brick and wood of the craftsman shine through! I’m so happy with the results–it makes the house look brand new!!! Then the Pearl team moved on to the garage/studio conversion. This was such an epic job I can’t even describe!!! As we began digging, we found that the old garage unit was missing a foundation! Because of city regulations, we couldn’t move any of the existing walls in the remodel, so Oren and his amazing team actually dug under the existing structure and installed a cement foundation!!! This was an epic undertaking and we followed the city codes very closely. Everything was done to code and done amazingly well! The results really speak for themselves, so look at the photos–I now have a 400 sq ft open plan self-contained studio I can rent or AirBnB for additional income! And finally, the team moved on to the backyard and patio! This involved knocking down existing brick wall and digging up 6ft deep concrete installed by the previous owner, which was a complete eyesore to the property! My backyard isn’t big enough to accommodate a bobcat, so the team spent weeks digging up this concrete slab with jackhammers and shovels! What was installed in its place is a beautiful firepit, garden wall, and a new cedar wood fence. They also installed pavers as footpath and new garden boxes for growing herbs. Oren also brought in a team to install a patio cover, which now provides beautiful shade for parties during the day! SOD Home Group did such a great job throughout the whole house, were so professional, and really went out of their way to make sure everything was the best. I had my home revalued shortly after the renovation and it skyrocketed in value because of the work from SOD Home Group. Finally, if you get the chance to be so lucky, ask to work with Oren. You’ll be thankful you did! I’ve worked with him for the past 18 months and I can say without a doubt he put his heart into the project and went out of his way to make sure I was happy with the results. He has impeccable taste, attention to detail, and a big heart for his clients - all winning combinations for a stellar project manager! He has a wonderful network of people who can get him the best deals on materials - he’s loved and trusted by his team! Oren follows up with his clients to make sure everything is working perfectly and to make sure you are truly happy with the result. Oren is a truly good, honest and hardworking guy and I’d work with him again in a heartbeat! I cannot recommend SOD Home Group and Oren and his team highly enough! ASOD Home GroupOren was the best! He came by in August to look at the house and give an estimate & we clicked right away. Very calm and competent and a straight shooter, he gave us a ballpark & the written estimate was pretty close to what we had discussed. The SOD Home Group team demolished basically the whole house, remodeled two bathrooms, installed a new floor around the house, added new stairs and finished the upstairs room, installed HVAC, and completely rewired and replumbed the whole house in 4 months! VERY fast, in my experience! All problems that popped up, and there are always problems that pop up with even small remodels were handled quickly and to our satisfaction; even the ones that were caused by vendors/delivery companies! These guys are more expensive upfront than many contractors, but they did not go over the expected budget (setting aside project creep-my fault- and the unexpected- see having rewiring the house above) and the job was completed quickly and with no "shortcuts" that you might experience with someone else to keep costs down. If you value up-front pricing and honest work, you'd do well to give SOD Home Group a call for an estimate.- Marla L.

ASOD Home GroupThis was our second complete remodeling with Oren and SOD Home Group. The first time we hired him was for our investment house that we purchased and this time was for our new home. This remodeling went much better than the first (considering the COVID-19). This remodeling included basically each and every space including the complete remodeling of the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, entry, front landscape and back yard. Oren is very easy to deal with and contributes a lot of value-added ideas to the design. We did not live near the new home (because it was part of our relocation) and he’s was very flexible in dealing with us by emails, and video calls including handling many stuff for us. Attention to detail is very good and Oren ensures that there are no loose ends at the end. We highly recommend him.- Wesley J.

AConstruction MastersI needed a new house built on a complex foundation. Construction Masters did an amazing job from start to finish. Mickey and Moshe listened to everything I was looking for and worked with my vision to turn it into a reality. Their attention to sight lines and details are excellent. Mickey took me through all the work of choosing lights, cabinets, fixtures, etc. The two of them work so well together! Mickey and Moshe were there every day of the week to provide oversight on the project. The philosophy of the company is one of excellence and honesty. I do not know this because it is on a website or brochure; I know it because I had the pleasure of being their client. If they create anything, from a stair banister to a luxury bath or a whole house, it will be done to the highest standards. The work they did building the whole house was so superb that when they finished, I asked to be their client again without considering any other builders. AWhen I found IND Construction and decided to move forward with them, I felt at ease. Every single step, from design to architecture to clearing out an old shed, to building the structure and final touches, was done with care. That meant a lot to me and my dad, especially now, with COVID-19. The workers were thoughtful and all my questions were answered and attended to. At the end of the day, I was really thankful that my guesthouse was built. It gave me a sense of relief and accomplishment. When I look at it, I think of my mom, who had wanted to build a guesthouse. I think she would have been really happy.

AThey were able to start earlier that originally scheduled. The workers were competent, punctual, and efficient as had the siding part of the job finished and all but the final coat on the stucco before Christmas. They returned after Christmas to finish the final stucco coat. When that had dried they finished the painting and cleaned up. I have worked with other contractors in the past and found this to be the most straight forward and professionally done project. I would certainly hire them again for future work.

AI just moved into my new place and it needed some upgrades. I met with a few contractors, but from the moment I met with Eran from AGA, I knew I met the right contractor for my project. Eran was very knowledgeable and professional. I met with him about 3 times to discuss different options and design details. He was very patient with me and gave me great ideas. The work took about a month, to remodel 2 bathrooms, re-do the flooring and paint the entire unit. AGA’s team was great throughout the entire project, from the office staff, to the field supervisor to the workers, they were organized and always coordinated with me, keeping me in the loop throughout the work. The quality of work is amazing, and my house was kept clean (as possible for construction). Thanks AGA for the great work!!

I had seen the quality of his work and knew that in addition to wanting the end product to be beautiful and high quality, I also wanted the security in knowing that they would take care of every step along the way so that we would never be worried if it would get done on time and how it would ultimately turn out. They were 100% the right choice. Kris and team communicated regularly, showed up when they said they would, communicated any changes in a timely manner, collaborated on creative decisions, and made the process as painless as possible. In the end, they finished on time and we love our new kitchen.
