Excellent job. Easygoing and professional. Elyse answers the phone right away and responds quickly to answer questions. Jason stained a new entry door for me and did a superb job. Stain matched color to exactly what I wanted. No stress, gorgeous outcome, well worth the price

    George Dones
Arrived on time with all tools and an assistant.  Suggested rebuilding the door sill on the exterior door as it had been poorly done originally. Performed all work described above in a professional manner.  I was extremely happy with the outcome of Mr. Dones' work.  Additionally, having shopped around regarding pricing, his price turned out to be lower than all other estimates and less than half the cost of a contractor recommended by a leading builders' supply retail store.  The "B" grade I gave on responsiveness above is due to the fact that he is booked up well in advance and, being busy every day, didn't return calls for a couple of days.  Quite understandable so if you call, be patient and he will call back within a couple of days.  I would seek out Mr. Dones in the future for any handyman type work that needs doing.  I cannot recommend him highly enough.

    Door Dr
His job went well and he didn't waste any time, when finished, I was presented with a well fitting door that matched the others in my house.  His prices are reasonable, and I'd hire him again--good workmen are hard to find.
P.S.  Please forgive me; the above was written a month ago.
When I called him back under warranty, he didn't return.

    George Dones

George is a jewel like many of Angie's raters said.  He was prompt in returning calls and was here early every day. He and his helper Santos worked diligently to get the door secured and eventually replaced. We had some other doors unrelated to the repairs that  were hard to open and close. He  noticed them and fixed  them without expecting compensation.  How often does that happen in this day and age?  He is a true professional and we wouldn't hesitate to use him for any work around the house. In fact, we are looking around for all those items that we can't do but George can and will be calling him soon. We would recommend him to anyone needing work done around their home.  He will not disappoint.

    The Screen Pro
I priced sliding screen doors at Lowe's and Home Depot. The Screen Pro's door was a betterprice and the materials were much better quality. He built the door onsite and it fits perfectly.Much better than the old one.

    Open Hand Remodeling Co
My wife and I interviewed 4 different contractors for this project.  All 4 were within $10K of each other in their quotes.
We met with Mike from open hand to discuss our plans.  We wanted them to be the last quote since I had read great reviews on them and I had an idea what the other contractors were offering us.  Mike sat down and listened to what our vision was.
He then proceeded to show us different pictures of the before and after projects they had previously done.  He brought samples of materials for us to look at also.  He was very patient and understanding of what we wanted.  I wanted him to know that it was very important to give us a true time estimate to complete the project as we were going to move out during the work was being done.  He told us it should take approximately 6 weeks.  His quote included all materials and an allowance for fixtures/mirrors.  Other companies said we needed to buy fixtures on our own and they would install them.
One of the major reasons we picked Mike and Open Hand is that before they started the work, he had the popcorn ceiling tested for asbestos.  He said he did not want to have his workers or us exposed to the dust while they removed it.  Other companies said that they would just have their crew remove it as it was minimal the exposure.
Obviously the removal of asbestos was more expensive than anticipated but Mike did not charge us extra.  He also repaired rotted wood that was in one of the bathrooms without extra charge.  When it came time to place the hardwood floors throughout the house, the crew was supposed to start on a Monday after they had the wood acclimate to the house temperature.  As usual, I came in the morning to check on the progress and they were ready to start.  In the afternoon (during my evening rounds of the project!), I noticed that they did not start on the floors. The floor guys told me the next day that Mike had seen the sound barrier they had brought and he was not happy with it.  He had them order a commercial cork subfloor for the 2nd floor of the house.  Again, it was more expensive than what they had originally brought but Mike did not charge us extra for it.
The project took one extra week than anticipated mainly because we had to wait for the asbestos subcontractor to remove popcorn ceiling and glue on tile before other crews could finish their work.
With regards to painting the house, his crew patched and re-textured every wall and ceiling of the whole house prior to painting.
We were very impressed with their work that we have referred them to our friends.

I went in to ask a question and they don't do what I needed, so he referred me to another place. Even after he knew he wasn't going to sell me anything he spent time discussing glass and windows and doors and answered all my questions. Very nice guy (Stewart)

    Design Windows & Doors INC
The quote from James was very competitive and he was informative,
punctual and professional.  I was a bit weary after reading these
reviews and decided not to move forward.  I was quoted with Milguard
windows and I've heard they aren't bad.  I just with with a more
    competitive offer.

    Handyman Unlimited
I have not had the work done  but it's a recent estimate so I'm still considering it.  I have used Handyman Unlimited for other work and was very happy with the work so I definetely will consider using them again for any future needs, they offer very good prices.  Their estimates have been lower than other estimates I've gotten.

    Kyle Beym Home Improvement
I did not have any work done by this company/person.  Kyle did respond to my email the following day and stated that he was booked until the beginning of December.   I was dissapointed that he didn't bother to ask me whether or not I was in a hurry to get my job done (which I am not).  All he said was that he was not taking any new customers.  Unfortunately, I was left with a feeling that he was just not interested in my project.
