    Gold Country Automotive
I've been taking my car to Kevin for years for routine maintenance, and I recently had to get new tires.  The cost was very reasonable, the job was done quickly and my car drives great now!  Thanks!

    Dave's Auto Repair
We have taken our cars to Dave's Auto Repair for over 20 years, and have always been happy with the service, and never felt like we were over charged. As a woman, I have always felt respected and never taken advantage of. Dave is a good guy and his staff are professional and they have your car ready when they say they will. HIGHLY recommend Dave's Auto Repair.

I have used Volz Brothers Automotive for a long time and trust their advice. My Subaru Legacy is 18 years old. It runs very well and I hope to keep it running for at least five more years. Volz Bros. understands my desire to keep it running. They installed a temporary timing belt to determine that the engine was not damaged before developing an estimate of the repairs that they recommended. They completed the extensive repairs in only two days. I have great confidence that their work will extend the life of my car.

    Alta Sierra Family Automotive
I spoke with the owner when I made the appointment.  He took to time to review the maintenance to be performed and explained what you would get for your money.  I thought it was a bit over priced, but I do like supporting our local business and I really don't like the franchised oil change companies.  Alta Sierra Family Automotive was flexible in making my appointment and they accommodated my schedule.
I could see the work being performed while waiting in the waiting room.  The mechanics were careful around my car and took the time to clean any oil from the chassis supports, etc.
Overall, I recommend Alta Sierra Family Automotive for an oil change.  I have not used them for any mechanical work, yet.

    Common Cents Mechanics
This was the best experience with any mechanic I've every had.      Dave Nelson brings his tools and expertise to your home.  He originally replaced the battery in my mom's car about 6 months ago.  He then came to fix my car which was a simple oil change.  The "professional" auto repair shop that did the last oil change had over-tightened the oil cage and failed to lubricate the gasket, causing the parts to freeze in place.  Dave had to force them apart and they broke.  He explained everything every step of the way, what had originally happened, what should have been done, what he was doing now to repair it.  It runs beautifully, he never charges more for the parts than what he pays for them, his labor cost was very reasonable and I was so impressed I scrounged around to add a $25.00 tip.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MAN FOR ALL OF YOUR CAR REPAIR NEEDS.  PLUS, HE COMES TO YOUR HOUSE!  Call DAVE at 530.575.1461

He destroyed my car. I initially took it in for a clutch problem, then he made it a transmission problem, which later became a failure for the car to work. I later had to have the car towed away from his shop. It costed me an additional $2,800 to repair the damage he caused.

I brought the car in to find out why it wouldn't start in certain situations.  I also wanted to know if the car were fit to travel from NY to CA.  They couldn't replicate the no-starting problem, but I know they tried.  They seemed to do a thorough enough job in checking, I had the car overnight.  Because they couldn't find the problem, they didn't charge me one penny.  And the people I spoke with were really nice.  I just have a B on quality only because the problem wasn't found and - I'm no mechanic - but I was a little bummed out about that.  On the road trip it was only once that the car wouldn't start, but after a minute it did.

When I got my car back there were several new problems that AJ confirmed never existed prior to leaving the vehicle. He broke the axle (violent vibration at highway speed); the air conditioning no longer works; the battery was dead when it arrived at the second mechanic; and there is a missing lug nut cover. Also, he called about an oil leak that he claimed would be cheaper to fix while doing the transmission work. We never had oil on the garage floor, but we did authorize the repair. There is definitely a leak in the steering fluid hoses. In addition the steering column makes a clunking sound when turning. These are only the things we know of so far! Rocking the engine, really? Come on! Does anyone out there think that sounds like a good idea??? We confronted AJ about what he planned to do to fix these problems he created. He told us he would do the work at our expense and if it was his fault her would not charge for labor. Or we could take it elsewhere and he will not pay for the repairs. We have taken it to another mechanic for these repairs. So far we have spent $388.54 for the axle repair and air conditioner recharged. And got an estimate for another $683 for the rest of the repairs. NEVER take your vehicle here!!!!

    Foothill Car Care
The reception is very professional. Needed service is discussed, permission to do the work is signed, then the mileage is noted and a paper protector mat is placed on the driver's side floor. All work is logged in the computer system, which also lists scheduled maintenance required by manufacturer. Occasionally, I have called to inquire about work done or due, and thave found my car and its service record is available in their computer. If the job will take a long time and one needs a ride home, that is provided. Otherwise, one can sit and wait. When the job is completed, a ride back to the garage is provided if needed, and then the service coordinator goes over the mechanic's report and will answer questions as needed. If requested, old parts that have been replaced are given to the customer. All personnel are friendly and eager to help. The work done is excellent. Although Foothill specializes in care of Subarus, I have seen them work on many different types of cars and trucks. I recommend them highly to anyone who wants a professional auto service.
