    We considered a number of options regarding security at our new home and opted for a state-of-the-art multi-camera surveillance system.  I interview several installers and decided to go with Chris and his team at TekMan.  Despite our design posing several logistical challenges and the constraints of a very tight timeline, Chris remained composed and flexible.

    During the course of our renovations I also asked Chris to handle running all the new cable for TV and broadband services because if you leave it up to the cable provider you'll end up with whatever installation that suits THEM best.

    Finally, I asked them to hang 3 TV's including one particularly large one which required 3 experienced technicians to install.

    I found Chris and his team to be nothing short of consummately professional.  They were always on time, fastidiously neat in the work area, and we came to a very appropriate agreement on price which was highly competitive within the several bids we received.

    I recommend TekMan Security services without reservation and will use them again for any further services within their expertise.

    Secure Tech
    Bruce arrived on time and assessed the system.  He discovered the issue right away.  The problem was caused by a power supply unit that was under power for the size of the system.  He installed a new power supply and restored the system.  The entire job took about an hour.  The price was very reasonable, especially considering I had a few thousand dollars invested in the system.  I would not hesitate to call Bruce at Secure Tech for any future alarm or surveillance camera repairs or installation.

    Protection Alarms
    Called Paul at Protection Alarms on 2/5/2014. We scheduled an appointment for the following day. 
    Paul arrived promptly. He was extremely knowledgible about security systems. He has been involved one way or another with the security industry for  30 years. He explained our options. We chose the system we wanted and set up an installation for the folllowing Wednesday.
    On February 12, Paul arrived with his crew on time.  He reviewed the installation with his crew (Paul and Eddie),and left for another job site. Paul returned a hour later to set up the system. He explained the system in detail.
    The job was done in a professional manner. They cleaned up before they left.
    One of the workers,(Paul), even gave my wife tips on playing Candy Crush.
    When I first came to California, 57 years ago, we didn't worry about security systems. Unfortunatly, times have changed.
    Therefore, I highly recommend, Paul Eisenstadt and his company Security Alarms.  818-8857726.

    Protect America Home Security
    How did it go?  Not very well.  Everything is great until there is a break-in or your equipment malfunctions.|Break-in Nov 2013 while I was on vacation 2,000 miles away.  I had them dispatch police.  They said they'd call back with status.  They never did.  I had to call them.  They had no record of who they spoke to in the PD but just assumed that since they heard nothing back that it was a false alarm.  Neighbor went to the house and found the garage door broken into.  I called the Protect America to find out who they spoke to in the PD.  They said "we don't keep that information,  call the Police Department."  Police department said they never got the call.  Filed a police report.  ||When the equipment malfunctions or goes off-line, they have an "oh well" attitude.  I've written to the CEO, Todd, about their attitude with "sorry about that" reply.  Recently called when equipment failed at 2AM on holiday.  Got the response that "we only respond during normal business hours" so call back then.  When I called back, they only had a limited staff on hand and promised they'd call me back in 1 - 2 hours.  They didn't call back.  I called the next day and was told they would "try" to connect me with level 2 support.  I insisted on waiting and finally got help.  Diagnostics took 1 hour over the phone (tech to my home costs 175 per hour) or "do it yourself" talk to tech.  Told me to go to Radio Shack to buy and install expensive batteries and see if that solves it.  If not call them back.  Sold me batteries w/3 to 5 business day delay.  They have no sense of urgency in helping me protect my home.  The attitude seems to be "oh well.  That's your problem."  Unresponsive, uncaring, do not keep promises.|I have a 3 year contract that must be paid in full to terminate.  Lesson learned.  All the ratings I read before I signed up said they were the best in customer service.  If they are the best, I hate to think what the others are. As I said, I've written to them and recently related my experience and dissatisfaction in my response to their survey.  They just don't seem to care.

    Secure Tech
    Secure Tech?s owner, Bruce Aronson, got me out of a tough situation.  I had an immoveable deadline for getting an alarm system fixed, my regular service company had been unreachable for many days and Bruce was all booked up when I tried calling him on a Saturday.  After explaining my circumstances, Bruce stayed in touch with me, worked around his existing schedule and managed to get to me within a few hours.
    The alarm was a fairly common system, but one with its own set of rather old proprietary codes.  As Bruce went through the programming sequences, I was amazed to see he was doing it all straight from memory.  He successfully zipped through the process and then got me back online with our monitoring service.  Earlier, they had mentioned the supposed need to pay a new ?Start Up Service? fee, which wasn?t how their contract read.  Bruce got us up and running again without any additional monitoring charges, making it a non-issue.  Bruce also saved me the time and trouble of locating some minor parts I needed for modifying the location of one of my alarm speakers.
    On very short notice, Bruce showed up quickly, for what was an emergency to me.  He knew the system better than anyone else I?ve ever seen work on it.  He got me back into monitoring without having to argue about any kind of additional fees. 
    He fixed all existing system problems in short order and then gave me materials I would have had to hunt down and go out and buy.  And for all that, he charged a very reasonable fee for what was done. 
    Bruce is an extremely knowledgeable professional who is willing to go out of his way to help you out of a difficult situation if he
    can.  He works quickly, cleanly, and charges fair prices.  I plan on using him from now on and would highly recommend him to anyone.

    PACIFIC SHIELD ALARMS
    Dave, the owner of the company was very professional. I called him to fix my intercom system which is a very old system and once he has seen the unit, he knew exactly the problem. He gave me 2 options to fix it and he fixed it in a very professional way. He is honest, so accurate and very helpful. He has a long experience in alarm systems too. I would recommend him to anyone in future.

    Post Alarm Systems
    Bruce met me at my home to look over the house, make a recommendation for a security system and provide an estimated cost.  He was knowledgeable about the system and products.  I had researched information about options on the web and inquired about several different items.  Bruce was patient and explained the various features.  I appreciated that he provided an honest appraisal and did not try to up-sell me on items he didn't feel that I needed.  My home is relatively small and I ended up with a modest system that does what I need.
    On the day of installation, Bruce came again to introduce me to Jaime who would do the installation.  Jaime was polite and efficient, but encountered a problem when he found out I didn't have Wi-Fi in the house.  During the initial interview with Bruce, he did not ask me if I had Wi-Fi and did not indicate that this was important to make the secuity system function properly.  The Wi-Fi issue turned out to be a fairly significant hitch in the installation.  Post initially said it wasn't necessary and Jaime worked to use a different set up that involved hooking to the cable internet system.  They got most of the alarm system working properly; however, Post was not able to enable the functions that would allow me to access the system remotely using TotalConnect. 
    Ultimately Post had to come to my house five times to get everything working properly.  On visit #4, Victor, the installation supervisor, also came and determined that it would be much simpler to make the system work properly using Wi-Fi rather than trying to modify for a wired system.  Upon my consent, Victor went to the store and  purchased a Wi-Fi router for me and installed it.  For me, this was a bonus.  I paid for the router, but he installed the Wi-Fi for free, so the result for me was a working security system and Wi-Fi to enjoy for other purposes.  I appreciated Victor's willingness to do what was necessary to get the system working.
    Once the Wi-Fi was installed, this pointed out another issue.  AT&T cellular is the primary means by which TotalConnect communicates with the security system, but the signal was too weak in my neighborhood to make the system function properly.  Post needed to switch my system so that the Wi-Fi was the primary communication with the AT&T as back-up, but they were not able to get this to work during visit #4.  This meant Victor had to come back for visit #5.  However, visit #5 was pretty quick.  In the interim period, Post had contacted the software manufacturer and had him fly out from North Carolina to explain how to fix the issues with my system as well as a few other clients' issues.  Armed with this information, Victor was able to get everything working.
    Now that all is working as it should, I am very happy with the system.  I really like the Honeywell product and love being able to access the system remotely from my iPhone.  The only reason I didn't rate Post overall as excellent was the need to come to the house five times to work on the system.  This was a bit aggravating, and to me, excellent would mean getting everything right on the first try.  But I do give them very high marks for customer service and follow through.  A lot of companies would not be so dedictated to making everything right once they have your money.  But every person I talked to at Post from the installers to the appointment schedulers were unfailingly polite and responsive, and the staff did not quit until I was satisfied with the system. 
    I have accidentally set the alarm off twice, and both times the monitoring center called me within a few seconds to see if I needed assistance or it was a false alarm.  This gives me peace of mind and I rate the call center's responsiveness as excellent. Overall, I would be happy to recommend Post to others as a skilled and reputable company.  I like the fact that they are a locally owned company and that all of the people whom you encounter are employed directly by them.  This makes me feel more secure.

    Protection Alarms
    I called for a quote a few weeks ago, Paul came out and gave me a fair quote while explaining everything to me. Once we arranged for the system to be installed, they came out at the designated time and had it installed in a couple hours. Paul then showed me how it works and we went over all the sensors, etc. The cleaned up the small amount of dust they made and left the place as they found it. Great job.

    Some of the problems: 1) They didn't show up when scheduled. 2) they had a hard time in converting what I wanted to an actual system plan. 3) They were were sloppy in the installation. 4) It took about three times longer than they estimated, which of course, they wanted to charge me for. We compromised on that and split the difference. 5) There were numerous problems with the new system such as continued fire alarm trips, problems with motion sensors, etc. It took them the better part of two months to finally get it all working reliably. 6) Their troubleshooting skills seemed lacking. 7) They spent a fair amount of the install time arguing amongst themselves.
