    Starting the project in December, accounting for the holidays, we were promised a completion date of April 24th. (4 �� months). That date was to pass final inspection, and there was additional time to actually complete the project. We did not actually complete all items until just last week, making it nearly 7 months to fully complete. The good news was we could move back into our house mid-April while the other items were worked out. We had an unusual situation where we lived in our RV in our backyard with 4 dogs while the project went on. Call us crazy, but it���s not easy to relocate with 4 dogs. MHB was aware of that from the beginning and how anxious we would be to get back into our home as soon as possible. We were told that work would happen 5 days a week and sometimes 6 to complete the job asap. That didn���t always happen, and we do feel there were unnecessary delays, but��� even having said that, I will still give MHB a 5 star rating. Overall, we are very happy with our home, the quality of work and feel that we received quality work for a fair price. Having less than 10% in overages (some for items added on our part) is considered very good on a project of this size. I will not lie and say all was smooth sailing. There were definitely some rocky spots along the way. Even so, I am giving MHB a 5 star rating. Even when those rocky spots came up, Yaron did see things through. He did not back away or give up like some other contractors would probably do. We had an unusual situation with the ceiling and it took him several attempts until it was satisfactory. He stuck with it and saw it through. The MHB crew including George and Joe were great to work with. The other tradesmen, sub-contractors and workers overall did a very good job. The most frustrating part of the entire project was working closely with our assigned project manager, Sharon. Rather than go on about the bad experiences we had with the one person from MHB, I will just leave it at this��� do yourself a favor and ask for any other project manager other than Sharon. Yaron has a great eye for design and he helped us in several areas. There were a couple of items I wish I would have received more design assistance with. There was some miscommunication about the design help overall. By February we enlisted the help of someone at the tile & granite shop because we did not hear from MHB other than to start looking at tile. By March we hired someone to come out to give us a 1-2 hour overall consultation on placement of tiles, paint colors and those type of things. A tip from me would be to put in your contract when someone will give you that help and take you shopping to help guide you along. I think this comes up for most anyone and that is not having enough one-on-one time with the person that you actually signed your contract with. It wouldn���t be reasonable that the contractor is on site each and every day. That was not our expectation. Put in your contract how often you will meet with the main contractor throughout the process. Yaron is a busy guy and it wasn���t easy to be able to meet with him for what were important matters to us. Had we known he was coming each week it would have helped us out a lot. There were ongoing issues with removing debris and keeping the site clean as reasonably possible. This may not bother most, but living in the backyard and seeing the site on a daily basis this was important to us. Especially with our dogs walking around it was important that nails and sharp items were picked up. If this is an issue for you, then note it in your contract. When it came time for paint we did have many issues that came up, even aside from the ceiling I mentioned above. To have the construction work done so well and have the construction on a level of 4-5 (on a scale of 1-5) to then realize the painting crew was not a painting contractor who would give us a nice custom paint job, we were let down there. No, the contract did not specify a painting contractor would perform the painting. It was an assumption and definitely a lesson learned. If I were to ever do a project like this again or any advice I would give is to detail the paint portion of your construction project. Detail down to the type of paint, how many coats, samples, who performs the work, etc. Jose the painter was a very nice guy and wanted to please in any way he could. Even so, in my opinion, his skills were not up to par with the type of paint job I feel this project deserved. His painting techniques left streaks, unnecessary paint lines and those sort of things. When I would point things out he would tell me ���just tell me and I���ll take care of it.��� Honestly��� I don���t want to tell you, I expect you to know. I spent a lot of time overseeing the paint and still there are a few items here and there. I was told I was being picky. I believe I had a reasonable expectation to have perfect, or nearly perfect, paint job. My house is like new. I don���t want to look at even minor paint issues for the next 5+ years until the next paint job. We had to have our own wood floors installed. I would have preferred that this was part of MHB���s contract. Doing it that way there was some delays at a crucial period of the project. Take the time to go through things like this on your contract to truly understand what the items you are taking on and leaving out of contract will mean to you. I���ve mentioned a few areas that were not the best experience. I think it���s important to include those in the review. To expect that everything will go smoothly just isn���t realistic. Even so, overall we are very happy with our new home thanks to MHB, and especially Yaron. They are true professionals and good at what they do. Yaron will take care of you. I will recommend MHB to anyone looking for small or large projects, and that says a lot.

    I was actually recommended to them by a friend, she had hired them for a kitchen remodel, and the work was excellent. So when she found out that I wanted an extra room added to the back of my home she told me to give them a call for an appointment.
    As soon as i decided do hire them, they were on top of it all. Not only do they do Construction but they help out with the Planning process as well. Chris, was very patient and helpful, he was in constant communication with me the whole way. Although, the city may have taken a little longer than what I expected; as soon as it was approved, Chris and his team started at the site right away. They do as they say! They will definitely make you happy! Thank you Chris, for a professional experience.

    It went very well. They began work on time every day to begin work. They were very conscientious to keep the work area clean by putting the sheets of plastic to tent the area where they were working so dust wouldn't fly all over the house. They left the work areas reasonably clean after every day.We were very satisfied with the end result when they got the job finished we were very happy with the work they did. We would definitely recommend their service to others. They finished the project on time. We had a situation where there were several broken tiles in the shower and they were very prompt in coming back to fix the broken tiles. On a negative note, the supervisor promised that he would come by about half-way through the job and said that he would come by when they were finished with the project to make sure everything was done correctly, and he failed to do so. He had only come by on day one to get a deposit from us, and then did not stop by again after that. He was very slow in getting the release of lein form. We had to continue to prod him and call him, he kept saying that he had already done it and that he would still do it, and every other excuse for us to finally get the form.

    I can only say nice things about Scott Pesch/Ability contractors and
    his crew. We must have interviewed at least 5 general contractors,
    including many top rated on Angie's List. Scott was the stand-out
    right from the start. We had two very large dog runs built (each
    one was over 50 ft long), as well as installation of washer and
    dryer and large dog bath installed in the laundry room. Over 150 ft
    of vinyl fencing, a roof, and creative door system were required as
    well, so this was a complicated project. We could not move into our
    new house without this project finished, so time was of the essence.
    Our project appeared to be quite a unique request, as the biggest
    problem we had was contractors that did not listen to our
    specialized needs on this project. Scott was very intuitive to
    both our needs as well as esthetics, and puts attention to every
    detail of the project. We LOVED him and his crew, and look forward
    to having him remodel our kitchen, family room, and first floor of
    our house in the coming year. My suggestion to anyone looking for a
    contractor in Southern California is to save your time; don't bother
    getting estimates from anyone else and just hire Scott! I'm betting
    he will give you the best price for honest, quality work. Not a
    combo that is easily found!

    Ben Construction recently completed a large enclosed balcony addition to my home. The project was rather extensive involving multiple construction trades (plumbing, electrical, roofing, iron work, tile and concrete/stucco). 
    From the very beginning of the project to the very end I was impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail that Ben Construction always provided. I was especially pleased with how clean and orderly the job site was left after each day of work.
    Overall I couldn't be happier with the outcome and I'll definitely be using their services again.

    Joe was referred by TME Construction.  I asked him to give me an estimate for a cinder block wall repair.  He came out the same day, Friday, and gave me and estimate.  I found his price to more than fair so we agreed to start the project.  Joe said he would be out at 8:00 am Monday morning.  And at 8:00 am Monday, there he was.  He carefully took down the portion of the wall that need replacing and then rebuilt it using the same 1960's cinder block that the wall was made from.  He finished the job the same day.  Since his estimate was for two days labor, Joe reduced the price saying that "it was the fair thing to do". 
    I would hire Joe again any time and I highly recommend him.  Joe's company does a wide range of construction work from my small wall repair to full custom homes.

    Chris is terrific!  As a real estate broker and investor I am often presented with opportunities to invest in down-and-out properties that need a good bit of TLC.  I have been able to count on Chris for a number of years now to help me go through a prospective property and identify the potential challenges and costs associated with bringing it up to market.  His extensive knowledge of specific trades (ie: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.) has proved invaluable to me in making decisions about which properties to take on and which to avoid.  Once I have chosen to move forward with a project Chris has always been there to see things through to the end.  His integrity and honesty is top notch, which is a huge bonus, since I can trust Chris on the jobsite to get things done quickly and without cutting corners or taking shortcuts.  Chris has also introduced me over the years to many wonderful contacts and tradespeople in the business.   Chris stands behind his work which is one reason I have continued to happily refer business to him and continue to give him business as often as I can.  Keep up the great work!
