    Tower Roofing Inc
I had several contractors give me estimates on my roof (and gutters), and Tower was the most expensive, by over 10%.  I still chose to go with them because their estimator spent a bunch of time with me going over all the things I wanted to make sure were done when I had my roof done.  He was really thorough and noted all the details had questions on, pointed out the areas that they would have to touch up, and made me feel like I was going to get all my concerns addressed and a get high quality job, and I thought that way I would not have to spend my time babysitting the job to make sure it was done right.

Originally I was planning to have my house tented after the old roof was removed before the new one was put on.  A friend recommended that idea to me after a tenting company tore up his brand new roof.  The scheduler from Tower told me they would come Thursday morning and tear the roof off and have the plywood down by Friday afternoon so the tent could go on.  I ended up having to cancel the tenting because I couldn't get help moving the required stuff out of my house.  Even with the tenting, the work was originally supposed to last just a week.  I am thankful that I had to cancel the tenting otherwise I still might not have a roof.

The guys who came didn't bother to read their instructions that I was getting new gutters and spent A LOT of time working around them and fixing damaged trim that was going to get removed in anyways.  After watching them for most of Friday I had to ask the lead worker why he was doing this, and this is when he broke out his instructions and it dawned on him as he read them for the first time that he wasted a bunch of time and material.

To make a really long story less long, one of the guys came on Saturday to try and "catch-up" for the time they had fallen so far behind on.  They finally completed the roof after a week of work.  When I went to go inspect the work, I saw areas that were braced with splintered scrap wood, instead of new construction materials.  What a joke.

The gutter people were not even available to start their work when they were supposed to (immediately on completion of the roof), and I had to wait even longer, a full week after the roof was done because apparently the material they had ordered for the job had not even showed up yet!

The big issue here was in the place of the old gutters, they had the transitions from the roof line to the edge of the house, now approximately 8 inches lower, which is much less visually appealing, and very problematic in the spot where one goes right over my gate, which I now have to duck under to avoid hitting my head.  They also didn't read their instructions and didn't have the gutters in the front of the house drain onto the lawn as I had requested instead of the planter boxes which causes me problems when it rains.

So all of this was a pain, but the real insult came when I got the bill with many hours added on to the estimate, raising the already high price EVEN MORE.  I couldn't believe the audacity of the proprietor after I had spoke with them about the countless hours wasted on the job.  It only got worse, when I asked him to break down his estimate to show that the additional hours were not overcharging as I claimed, and he refused.

    Ricks Rain Gutters
It was perfect. They were the most accommodating. They removed the old gutters and they coordinated well with my painter. Everything was great. The people across the street used him and they recommended them highly. I would call them for anything I needed that is in their line.

    Korling Green
Amboy Korling and his assistant were extremely polite and professional.  They did nice work, particularly on the door frame, where looks are critical.  They arrived at 8 am, with materials, and set up their table saw on the patio. They plugged it in and began work.  They were finished at about 4 pm, on a job that could easily have taken 2 days.
They replaced the rotted header for the door with a nice piece of 4x4 lumber.  They replaced the casing for the door, making sure that the original door would still fit.  It looks great and all we need is to have it painted.
They cut and installed extensions for about 40 rafters under the eaves.  The original rafters were rounded at the end so that they would not take a gutter.  The extensions will allow us to get well-placed gutters.  Our present gutters were installed with a crude system that led to the dry rot problem.
The original plan had been for them to add a downspout in the middle of the gutter on one side of the house, but after looking at the relatively simple installation of the gutters they left that out, and cut $200 from the price.  However, they tilted the gutter so that it would drain to the far end: if the original installer had done this, the dry rot wouldn't have happened to begin with.
We're now on our way to having the woodwork of the entire house painted, and new gutters installed, but those are tasks for other contractors.
This was a great repair to something that I had despaired of getting fixed.

    Tower Roofing Inc
Everyone from the estimator to the installers were very professional and provided quality service and work.  I don't know if the price was the best I could get since I never ended up getting another estimate.  After talking to Tower I knew I wanted to work with them.
Part of my roof was not straight due to an original construction defect.  Tower had several people, including the owner, at my house trying to figure out how to improve the appearance without spending a lot of money.  They made it look much better for just a few hundred dollars.
The only problem I had was that the demo crew (Tower contracts out the demo portion of the job) pulled the old gutters off and in some places they were screwed to the fascia boards.  Now there are some gashes in the fascia I need to patch and paint.
I never mentioned this to Tower so I don't know if they would have made the repairs.
I believe Tower Roofing is a 100% professional and reliable company!

Joel's Roofing & Gutter Co, Inc
Joel at Joels Roofing and Gutter is great. His team did a great job, used top tier material, and completed on time and under budget. One thing you have to watch out for in Santa Barbara is cheap contractors not filing for permits. Joel had his work inspected and filed my permit. My roof had a few challenges such as termite damage, weird slopes, etc. and his team still did a great job.
    Love my new roof!

After we had plastic rain gutters installed several years ago (it was a disaster), we decided it was time to get the job done right. After reviewing the reviews and ratings here on Angies List, we contacted Sean at Sure Flow Rain Gutters. He promptly returned our call and came out within a couple of days to provide a written estimate (our location was 40 miles from the business.) Sean, the owner, was knowledgeable, helpful, courteous, and professional. He helped us choose a color to match our facia trim as well as a color for the downspouts to match the house color. The estimate was much more reasonable than I had anticipated. We scheduled a future date (we wanted the work done after we had our solar panels installed on the roof.) Sean and his assistant arrived at the agreed upon time and date. They were quick, efficient and careful (we have an aluminum roof which requires a little TLC when walking on it.) We couldn't be happier with the finished product. It looks great! And now, with two storms under our belts, I can say the rain gutters work great as well. We would gladly recommend this company and use them again if we ever had the opportunity!

    Tower Roofing Inc
Tower roofing did excellent work on my house.  They provided good information through several visits by the estimator.  They provided both samples and addresses to assist us in making a choice about roof colors.  They allowed us to do some of the work on damaged rafters in order to keep the cost down.  They scheduled the job around our schedule and did it promptly.  They gave us a price break on some of the repair work.  They did a good job of replacing the roof and cleaned up afterward.  They replaced the gutters a desired.  They were ver professional in all of their interactions with us.  They stuck with their estimate on the job, i.e. there were no hidden fees.  Overall, we were very satisfied with the work done by Tower Roofing.

    Action Roofing
I first called the number, where they were nice, responsive and put me in touch with; I think one of the owners. He came out looked at things and told me he would get back to me with a bid, but I had to call them 4 times to get the bid. Finally, he just dropped it off at my house one day, so it was kind of frustrating to know what his bid was, but his bid seemed reasonable. We then scheduled the work, his guys were late, but they did the work and it was fine. They got up there, cleaned the gutters, and molded the ones that needed to be. The work was fine and I asked if I had to pay them, they said they will send the bill and then it should be paid. I got the bill after a month; so they are not that responsive. The work was fine, but it was not the best. I will not use them again in the future.

    C L Wright Roofing Inc
All of the work was handled over three service calls. After contact them (thanks Angie's List), Mr. Wright came out to discuss the work. We needed the front gutters replaced, two leaky skylights repaired and a damaged facia repaired. Mr Wright was right on time and worked quickly to get the information he needed to provide an estimate. Proposals were sent the next day, which we accepted. The first service call addressed the gutters and facia repair. They arrived on time and completed the work quickly and professionally. On a second service call, to address the leaky skylights, Mr. Wright discovered the reason for the leaking was the previous contractor (bad Virginia Sunrooms and Remodeling) installed the roof incorrectly. The roof needed to be stripped, rotten decking replaced, and a new roof installed. So, more measurements and the next day a revised proposal. The room is 14x33, so we were bracing for a nasty surprise but the proposal was very reasonable. Arrangements were made and the roof was completed a few days later. They did a fantastic job and left the site cleaner than they found it! We'll be calling these guys again.
