AFox's DraperiesI called the owner/operator, Jon Fox of Fox's Draperies to schedule an appointment to repair or replace the overhead rail track that broke over the weekend. The track was 10 years old so Jon recommended that I replace it. He had the part I needed in stock and scheduled an appointment the same day! Frank arrived on time and quickly took down the track and drapes and replaced it with a new track with a hand wand verses draw string opening mechanism. Parts and labor came to a very reasonable $175. Excellent customer service and quality job!!- David F J.

AFuture View Window FashionsArranged to request a quote at Sacramento Home & Garden Expo after very clear-eyed conversation with Daniel. Sommer from the company came to our home, listened and provided good suggestions and a detailed quote that beat the competition and offered all US-made products. Installation with Daniel and Tim was timely but very meticulous. Daniel even noticed a flaw in one of the shutters (that, quite frankly, we would never have caught) and ordered a replacement immediately. AHall's Window CenterSo we just got finished getting some Hunter Douglas shades installed in our Land Park home. I apologize in advance for the long review but I think it will ultimately save you time (and money). A good friend of ours recommended Hall?s Window Center to my wife for their selection and service. We are fairly new home owners so cost is a big factor. I must say I had a bit of sticker shock when I left Hall?s showroom. ?You want how much for window coverings? Really?!? To be clear, and fair to Hall?s, most of the shades or ?duettes? we picked out were energy efficient and blacked out all of the light. Additionally, when fully closed, the tops can be lowered. This is a key feature in our dining room and bedrooms because we want to let light in and retain privacy. Okay- so now it was time to do my homework. I made my rounds and found Costco and 3-Day Blinds all featured the same (or so I thought) products for much less. I called Hall?s back and asked if they would do any price matching. I spoke with Mario. He was very patient but assured me that their prices are very competitive and that the products I was researching were likely inferior to those that we had picked out in the showroom. It was a classic apples to oranges scenario. Again, wanting to see this for my own eyes, I went back to the other locations and had them price out our selections. Wow, did I feel? well, dumb. The prices at the other locations increased dramatically. Each product was only a few dollars less than quoted prices form Hall?s. Armed with this information, I had to reconsider. I could choose to measure my own blinds and have them installed by a subcontractor hired by a retail chain store or a warehouse store where I also buy tires, tvs and vodka; or, I could have a very reputable ?Window Center? perform the measurements and do the installation. Finally, this seemed like an easy decision. And now I am here to write it was definitively the correct decision. Hall?s was fantastic. Their sales person Doni came out to our home (on a Saturday no less) and helped us pick the right colors to compliment each of our rooms. She also took measurements for us. Within a very short time (maybe a week?), Hall?s had scheduled our installer Stan to perform the install. Due to our busy schedules, we had to leave Stan to fend for himself after some brief instructions on what went where. I would also do a disservice to Hall?s and Stan to not mention in our brief time together he might be the most pleasant and enjoyable person we have ever had perform work in our home. Not only did Stan do a very professional job with all of our shade installations, he also removed, collected and neatly stacked our old cheap blinds. There was zero mess and we could not be happier with the finished product. The one drawback from all of this is the ribbing I get from my wife when she constantly reminds how ?I told you Hall?s was the place to go?. And to be honest, I don?t mind because the Hall?s ?experience? was worth every penny and then some. It is easy to see why they have been in business for over 30 years and I have zero hesitation recommending them or taking the time to write this review. In fact, after revisiting their showroom to thank them- we just ordered a new front door. That experience has been equally great thus far and I will follow-up with another review once it is installed.- Jonathan K.

AHawkins has now done two whole-house window replacements for us. This second home is a one-of-a-kind designed Mid-Century Modern classic home, and we have been very fussy about how the windows needed to look in order to retain the essential look and style of the old window styles. Hawkins has been able to provide us with really spectacular replacements. Gary Hawkins, the owner, came personally to look at our home and listen to our concerns, and then was able to select the precise windows we asked for. We find them to be reasonably priced and responsive to concerns. Since they have done multiple jobs for us, we know they do a great job of keeping their customers happy and also hit the "budget-friendly" button, too! This project includes replacing 3 sliding glass doors, (one which is 10 feet wide), 18 windows, (3 of which are 8+ feet wide picture windows), 4 floor-to-ceiling fixed tempered windows, and 3 specialty reeded glass windows.

AWe went in not knowing what we wanted. Steve was very helpful with product choices. He came out to measure and made recommendations. He gave us an estimate and when we weren't quite ready to fund the project he said he would keep our information. Sure enough 1 year later we contacted him and he still had our original estimate with all of the products we wanted. Once the project was started, Dimitri and his son were amazing and put in very long days until the job was done. They were very meticulous and did an outstanding job. We will definitely go back for our next flooring project.

AThis experience was so painless. The guys said they would be here in 30 minutes and they were. They lifted the door out; replaced the rollers; and replaced the lock too, all in less than an hour.. They also gave me a lesson on why to not use WD-40 on the door tracks and locks. Why didn't I call them two years ago when the door started giving me problems?! I'm just sorry that I forgot their names. I highly recommend.
