    budget sew and vacuum repair
    I dropped off my beautiful Singer 160 Limited Edition and when I picked it up, not only had they been unable to fix it, they seriously scratched and cracked the body of the machine and Carl denied all responsibility. It is now in another shop and I'm waiting to see how much it wil cost to fix the original problem plus now the damage they caused. DO NOT GO HERE.

    TIME WARNER CABLE
    In an attempt to help my 84 year old father, who has some dementia, save a little money I suggested we switch his phone, internet and cable to Time Warner. What a HUGE mistake! We had an appointment scheduled for the advertised "one hour appointment window" for June 7 between 10:00 and 11:00am. I drove 100 miles to make sure I was there for the appointment. When no one had shown up or called by 12:25pm, I called them and was assured someone would be there by 12:35. At 1:15pm a technician finally showed up not knowing what was supposed to be done. After spending 20-30 minutes looking up and down the block for the main cable line, he informed us that nothing could be done because the wiring from the street was inadequate/not up to code. I pointed out that the neighbor next door had Time Warner but he didn't know how that could be. He said "construction people" had to run new lines. He could see my frustration was turning into anger so he called his supervisor to help find the main cable box. Thirty minutes later, the supervisor showed up and told me again that there was nothing they could do until the new lines were in. He also said I had to contact the phone carrier and make sure they didn't turn the phone off. The new lines went in later that day yet no other work was done and no effort to contact us or reschedule service was made by Time Warner. I immediately called both the current phone provider (Frontier) and Time Warner to insure that no one turned off the phone service. On June 8 I called Time Warner back and requested another appointment to complete the install. I was told that they couldn't schedule anything until the ticket in their system for installing the new lines was closed by that department. The woman assured me she would follow up and call back that day so we could schedule something. She never called. Skip ahead to June 10. My father's neighbor called me to let me know the phone had been turned off!!!!! I spent the next several hours on the phone with Frontier, Time Warner, and the Public Utilities Commission trying to figure out what happened, who was to blame, and how it could be corrected immediately as it was a safety issue. Ultimately, it all points back to Time Warner. I spoke with three different Time Warner "supervisors" who all offered their regrets but they all told me the soonest I could get an appointment was not for 5 days. They agreed to "escalate" the issue and call me back but, you guessed it, no one ever did. Frontier cannot restore service because Time Warner is now in control, or in possession of, the phone line and they simply refuse to do the right thing and correct their gargantuan mistake. To add to all that, the third and final "supervisor" we spoke to was rude and told us we just didn't understand what happened and how these things worked. He then transferred us to the "telephone department" saying they could help us work with Frontier and get the line turned back on because "that's what they do all day long". Well guess what, he was 110% wrong. The telephone department person said they don't do any such thing. So once again, he also offered his apologies and said he would "escalate" the issue. One more thing to note: At no time has any one of the dozen or so Time Warner employees ever offered any kind of compensation, rate reduction, or additional service to make up for their tsunami of incompetence. Not only do they not care about people's basic safety, they obviously don't want our business. Unbelievable. P.S. We bought my father a basic cell phone so he has something but not sure he will remember where it is or how to use it in an emergency. People with dementia are not always comfortable with new technology.

    The arrival window was to be between 2-3 in the afternoon. The welder arrived about 3:05 p.m. He had his equipment ready in a few minutes. The entire job just took about 30 minutes. Very efficient.

    ALPHA TV & REPAIR WERE VERY HELPFUL & KNOWLEDGEABLE. WE TOOK A TV INTO THEM BEFORE AND THEY WERE HONEST STATING THAT IT WASN'T WORTH THE REPAIR. THIS SHOWED ME THEY WEREN'T GOING TO RIP US OFF. THIS TIME THEY FIXED THE TV BEFORE THE DATE THEY PROMISED AND IT HAS WORKED GREAT EVER SINCE. ALL THEIR WORK COMES WITH A 90 WARRANTY.
