    EA Construction Driveways-Hardscape-Pavers
We are very happy with the work that EA Construction did on our house. Eric, the owner, was very professional -- he kept his commitments, was timely and honest. Once he started our job, he worked continuously on it until it was done. He communicated clearly and honestly about every phase of the project. Eric was very conscientious about sticking to our budget. Even when he found wood damage under the rock, he was able to work out a solution that stayed with the original estimate. We were concerned about having to call our gardener to replace our sprinkler pipes that went under the front walkway. Eric said that he would take care of and it was part of his bid. He replaced the sprinkler pipe and also some of the sprinkler heads. It was small compared to the entire job but something that we really appreciated. Overall, I feel that Eric really takes pride in his work and it is reflected in the great job he did on our house.

    Preferred Garage Door
As soon as he hit the door started telling me how low quality my current motor was. He was probably right because new constructions are not known for the 'best' quality rather bulk materials at cheapest parts. I still did not appreciate what felt like an instant set-up for an up charge. I told him how my garage would not close ( four times in past two years). He tried new sensors and at first it worked then somehow it didn't. He said I might have rats because it might be a wiring issue ( (I do not have rats) Anyway $ 475 later I had him install a new motor, sensors and controls which he was able to do right away (back in less than an hour but it did cross my mind that the new equipment was probably already in his truck). The garage door is quieter and I do not think the work was badly done, I cannot even say 100% that it was not needed. The overall rating of D is because my gut tells me that I was 'targeted'. Also I feel that the $79 for tune up should be deducted from costs like it is at professional establishments as a courtesy and show of good faith. The guy was nice, personable so no complaints other than that gut feeling. I did express many time how I was not happy about spending so much more money. In the end I chose to spend it so I own my decision but again - something felt 'not right'

    CALIFORNIA CUSTOM LANDSCAPE
CA Custom was amazing and I'm only sorry I didn't write this review sooner so that I could give you more details. I was surprised b/c their quote was so reasonable, I thought maybe they would cut corners, but they didn't. They cleaned up the site after work, every day; the workers were very courteous and considerate. They were very patient w/my indecisiveness regarding tile selection and everything turned out beautifully!

    Preferred Garage Door
Victor came to the working site and gave me a very reasonable quote compare to another company. On the day Victor came to installed the garage doors, he could only installed one door. Victor needed to come back another day to installed the second door, because the plumber put the water heater location by mistake to interfere the garage tract can't roll up. Victor was very nice came back to finish his job without charging us extra for another trip. Victor did a great job on both doors, The doors operators are quiet and roll up smoothly. This is the second time we hire Victor, he is very professional and reasonable with his price. I highly recommend Victor and his company if you need garage door to be installed.

    Preferred Garage Door
It went well. They listened to my concerns about my garage being too loud and accurately diagnosed and corrected the problem. I thought a tune up would take care of it, but it ended up needing new springs, where were quite the expense. But I must admit, they solved the problem.

    MONROVIA GARAGE DOORS
Great! Got service same day, super nice guy (Craig) called when on his way as promised, did the work and explained it thoroughly. Would definitely use them again, although I hope I won't have to as their work has a one year guarantee!

    Landscape Technologies
Start to finish without a hitch. I called Eric and gave him an idea of what I wanted, that was a water efficient native landscape and he made what I had pictured in may head happen at a very reasonable price. I get major complements on the results. I highly recommend Eric and his team.

    J.W. Lindsey, Inc.
The work went very well It took a number of months because they were working with a landscape contractor. I also hire to redo both my back yard and front yard. Thus I finished each job before starting the next.

    Mission Concrete
Needed a new driveway, old asphalt driveway was buckled and cracked. Mission Concrete's foreman, Juvenal , arrived at the appointed time for an estimate. In addition to the driveway, I decided to add an additonal parking area  for a motorhome and a concrete walkway next to the garage, from the sidewalk to my back yard.
Juvenal, quickly undrstood what I wanted done, and suggested my need for a drain in the driveway to the curb. The removal of large amounts of grass to provide for the additional parking area left nothing to soak up rain water. This was borne out after an unusual thunder storm here in So. Cal.
The work was done in a punctual and professional manner. All debris and grass was removed to my satisfaction. The price for the job was much more reasonable than another estimate I had.. I plan to use Mission Concrete for any further concrete work  I require.

Good guys, good price, marginal work.
The >outdoor patio< paint job went mostlyok. A couple of spots no one would notice (I just did while up on roof) went untouched but mostly good work.
The >breezeway<...ugh. This is a partially covered exterior entryway. The exposed six-inch beam header for the entry doors - the top was completely untouched. As they painted the walls over the door, easily accessible and visible to them. The stucco was a lighter color and trim darker - in places where I had applied caulk at the seams between the two, the caulk (white) remained unpainted and now glares out at me like a neon sign.
entryway...ugh again. This is a two+ story entryway, with curving staircase to the second story. The prep work, even though promised to be thorough was abysmal. Holes from previous picture hooks were simply painted over instead of patch and scuff sand. Unfinished (needed scuff sand again) wall repairs were mostly ignored and painted over. I said I would come back and high gloss paint the trim/baseboards and in many places the wall paint didn't go all the way up to the trimwork. There were also a few spots where it seemed two painter met in the middle of the wall and didn't thoroughly (or properly) overlap their work. Very sad.
    In all fairness -
    1. I was recovering from cancer surgery at the time and (clearly) should and could have done a better job of supervising the work being performed.

    2. I shared my disappointment with Cynthia at Regal and she seemed interested...but taking pictures and emailing them just turned out to be a bigger challenge than I was up to at the time.
    3. The crew was friendly, and very professional in their conduct throughout the handful of days they were in my home. But my definition of "Professionalism" includes paying attention to quality of standards, not what one can 'get away' with.
