    BMO Kitchen & Bath Renovations
Mike was great at every step of the process from the initial bid to the project completion. Everyone on his team did an excellent job; electrical, plumbing, carpentry, tile and paint. Mike did some of the work himself and checked the work done by everyone else. He was very responsive and personable. He was open to questions and involved us whenever there was a question or issue. When the inevitable changes arose, he provided a fair price for both additions and subtractions--the latter I find to be very rare. In summary, we couldn't be happier with the work or the experience working with Mike.

    Creative Home Remodeling Group Inc.
The job was initially relatively small but with Sebastian and Kris's help we discovered a dangerous gas leak in the master bath requiring it to be completely gutted and redone. At all points in this now large project, they were responsive regarding the design and execution of this project. Our home is a 1930s classic so all of this work needed to suit the style of our Spanish revival architecture. We are delighted with the workmanship and attention to detail. The team is willing to spend extra time to be sure the job is done to our specifications. We are so pleased, we are having this group redo our driveway with pavers for our next project.

Everything went extremely well! Randy arrived punctually at 9 a.m., and dived right into the work. After doing a superb job with the grouting on the sink, Randy measured the Venetian blinds and toilet seat...and quickly went to a nearby hardware store to pick up the replacement items. After completing the work needed with the blinds and toilet, Randy quickly took care of the leaky pipe. Afterwards, he repainted a section of our living room, where the paint had chipped off the wall. Randy has done work of us and our neighbors throughout the years; and, as always, we found him to be extremely efficient and professional. The total price was $200, which included both labor and materials.

Overall, I'm happy with the quality of the finished work. And working with the company owner, Alex, was pleasant and easy. Alex was completely willing to do whatever it took to do the job to our satisfaction. Scheduling went fine, and the price was the lower of three bids. But there were problems along the way. Getting to where I was happy with the final product took more checking on my part than I would have liked. Two guys did the work, Dion and his helper, Donilla. Dion did high quality work, but Donilla didn't. Dion wasn't checking Donilla's work, so I did. Part of one window frame was left unpainted, and holes in the eaves weren't patched. The clean-up at the end could have been better. While the crew did the major part of the clean-up, I spent a couple of hours on it after they left. Bits of old scraped-off paint were scattered in the garden, and there were paint drips on a brick pathway. I would hire Keith Painting again due to reasonable prices and the ease of working with the owner to get, eventually, to a high quality job. However, I would ask for a more professional helper.

We wanted to freshen up our 20-something year old kitchen a bit without going overboard financially. We worked with Omri from Preferred Builders. He is knowledgable, professional and a meticulous note taker. Over the course of a few meetings we exchanged ideas about our plans for the kitchen remodel. Omri wrote down every detail, told us what we should buy ourselves (new appliances, paint, floor tile). We kept the majority of our existing cabinets that I refaced myself, saving a few bucks there. Omri did as much cost saving calculations as he could and a price and start date was agreed upon. Demolition started on time and we began a little over 3 week period "living" in our living room. All the craftsmen that worked on our house were pros and never left a big mess around the property. Omri would check in regularly on the progress. When tackling a big job such as this, expect the unexpected. My electric panel kept popping circuit breakers. To bring the system "up to code" a new panel was installed ($$). The pressure regulator for the house water supply decided to give itself up from overuse during construction. The plumber was called in to replace the old PVC system with an upgraded copper configuration ($$). The realities of a project like this seems to say that whatever price you are quoted for the job you better figure an extra 10% on top of that. Every problem was addressed and solved even if it cost me a little more. In the end though, we came out with a beautiful kitchen just like Omri promised.

    Thomas Parks Contracting
I am so very pleased with the work that Thomas Parks and his crew accomplished on my home/decks/roofs and gazebo. It took three weeks but he was very thorough. The first day was powerwashing the house. One day to dry and then each day thereafter there was a crew of five. The preparation work was extremely tedious. They used hand powersanders to cover almost every inch to even out cracks and layers of old paint. It was no easy job. In some spots it is three levels.....up and down ladders; and it just happened to be very hot weather. After completing Thomas asked me to write a list of things that might need touch up. Again, I was impressed. As we walked around the house/decks/gazebo together he spotted some small things that I did not see. That is to say, he is very honest and trustworthy. I highly recommend Thomas Parks Contracting. Thomas Parks and company is a company of high work ethics, trustworthy and honest. I will certainly call him for any other work that I might need.

They did an excellent job. Tony was very responsive. He showed up when he said he would, returned phone calls promptly, and explained what he was doing every step of the way. His sub-contractors were also top-notch. We are very pleased with the results.

First, I'd say that I've moved into my kitchen for a couple of weeks now, and this review is not based on an impulsive reaction to an almost brand new home... but more to a tried and tested space.

I've already reviewed my initial experience with Omri in another review. That was related to all our interaction up until the work was done.

The Team: The job itself required the PHB team to be in my home for close to 12 weeks. It is incredibly frustrating to live in a home with ongoing home improvement. This team was always respectful of not only the two of us, but also our space. I cannot say enough about Omri. He is one of the most even-tempered people I have met. We had some pretty stressful moments during the project, (as is inevitable in any project this size), and he was always calm and reassuring. I can be a very demanding customer, so that is quite a compliment. :). It also helped to have Daisy (at the office) constantly available to manage the schedule and help with coordination. Daisy published a schedule every week (as promised), and this went a long way in setting expectations. Finally, the team stopped by to check on any last minute items I may have AFTER I mailed the final check to the office. Omri followed up as well. This, more than anything else will earn them repeat business.

The Job: The new kitchen was rebuilt in an office space facing the street. This required... 1) resizing the office window and re-stuccoing and repainting the outside of the house. 2) running all new water and electrical to the space upstairs, 3) installing a new electric panel 4) knocking down and resetting a load-bearing wall in order to open the new kitchen to the living room and of course 5) cabinets, countertops, appliance installation and a new island. It was VERY important to me that certain components line up (LED lighting, cabinetry, the island, the pendants, the window placement), and Omri took great pains to make sure this happened. The new bedroom required... 1) demo of old cabinetry and refinishing of  walls, 2) relocation of all outlets, 3) New LED lighting, and 4) mounting a TV.

Despite the fact that we spent a LOT of time planning for this, we did encounter a few surprises. (As is inevitable with a project of this size, and nature) Some on our account, some on theirs, and some impossible to predict. In each case Omri worked with us to resolve the issue. He was COMPLETELY honest about every situation every step of the way, and that earned my respect.

The Result: The only way I could improve this kitchen is to have it overlook the ocean. (Something PHB may not be able to do). The cabinets (darker brown) work perfectly with white counter tops. We have a white quartzite island counter (which PHB helped us find). And I have PLENTY of storage space. I am very happy.

    Berger's Painting
J & B painting does not disappoint! After vetting about 8 other offers, we decided to go with Bob and his team and we still can't stop telling people how happy we are with the result.  Bob had a crew of 4-6 guys here every day, and finished in less than a week. Our house is from the 1920s and the previous owner had let it get a bit run down. There were long horizontal cracks in the front, the stucco was crumbling around the garage, several windows had dry rot - and the entire house just needed a face lift.  J & B made the process so easy.  Besides the quality of the work, Bob was VERY responsive.  He has the respect of his team and wants everything to be perfect for his customers, yet is absolutely laid back and has a great calm energy about him. His team is great, have an eye for details, and took initiative on things - so you're not having to do any micro managing.  We LOVE our house and so does the entire neighborhood!

The brothers approached me in my driveway offering a free quote. I would usually ignore such solicitation, but glad I didn't. They had painted several neighbor's homes. My neighbors were all very complimentary of their services. They guided me on color choices and included several services without charging additional. Extra services including repairing grout of exterior chimney, putting a clear poly coat on front door, repairing wood trim and painting exterior pole light. The guys worked very fast and clean. We are very pleased with value for price paid.
