All went precisely as planned. We were given a start date, a finish date and all hours that were to be involved. The work team arrived on time, ready for work and were very capable and pleasant. The project involved removal and disposal of an old, concrete patio and walkway and the replacement of same, but in beautiful Pennsylvania Blue Stone. Juan and his crew adapted to some changes we made on the fly and contributed their expertise to solving any problems, of which there were few. The only negative was, perhaps, the price but Ive learned over the years that you get what you pay for. In this case it was well worth the small additional cost. HIghly recommended. (Total sq. Footage of patio and walkway = 600 square feet.)

    Julian Construction Inc
Julian construction honored a quote I had received from them a year prior.  They re-inspected the property of course.  They arrived on time on the date of service, 7 am.  When I returned from work at 4 pm, they were gone.  The job was complete.  They left debris/trash behind but that was scheduled to be picked up the next day.  On the day of city inspection I left access open and it was done.  I received by city permit and receipt within the week.  Everything was smooth and easy.  I like that.

I rated this company with an overall C.  They might do good work but I was never able to find out.
The bid was done on April 1st, I confirmed the bid on April 2nd and requested a start date.  I spent the next 24 days trying to get on their schedule and was never able to get them to commit to a start date.  I placed repeated phone calls and emails and would receive calls/emails back but they could never give me an exact start date and would only tell me they would call me back the following week.
After waiting as long as I did I decided to give the job to another contractor who completed the work and was 20% cheaper and performed outstanding work.  It was only after the job was completed that I received an email on 4/26 telling me they could start the job the following week, 5/3.  If they had only given me a confirmed start date they could have had the job, scheduling seems to be an issue as well as follow-up.
At least we saved money by using someone else.

Randy had done some work for me and was so good I had him back. He fixed my koi pond( resurfaced it and fixed the leak) also fixed the filter. Put in a new fence for me- fixed electric in basement and garage. Leveled my driveway and filled it for me. Put in a new light for me and fixed some wierd little jobs in the house. He does great work and I will have him back when needed. Pricing is reasonable and he delivers what he says!

    Accurate Concrete Leveling
Overall, the estimate process was good. The technician arrived exactly when they said they would, then dropped off the estimates in our mail box. We decided not to use them since we sold the home and didn't need the work done.

The job was done over the Easter/Passover holidays, so there was a scheduled stop, and we also had stops for rain. but all told, they worked very quickly and did very good work. I met with Sam, the foreman, first, who gave me the bid afterward via email. Their bid was right in the middle of the 6 bids I got, price-wise. I chose them initially because A) good Angie's reviews, and B) Sam did not try to sell it to me like a salesman. he was very frank, and took notice of several small details of the job I know would be issues (difficult access, using the elevators, etc..), and that other contractors had ignored. I felt like he was going to be easy to work with because he was respectful, easy to talk to, and seemed very knowledgeable about the details of the work to be done, as well as the legal end of it ie: insurance etc.. Demolition began easily and moved quickly. There was a small issue with the workers parking and blocking some other residents, but that only happened once. Sam was there every morning and was usually there again later to check in at least 1-2 a day. He was always available via phone or email. If I left a message, he always called back within the same day. Always. I met Nick at the tile place he recommended out in deep-deep North Hollywood. He had an obvious relationship with the vendor, and we picked out a slate tile that I believe I got a very good price for, at Nick's 'contractor price'. The price seemed good to me, and my web research supports that. I got $4 tiles for $3. The hop mop / roofing guy was also very quick and was done in one day. He was very clean, and left only a few drops of tar on the elevator buttons, which Sam took care of. The tile guy was done in about 2 days, then Sam's crew came back and did the flashing, the drywall in the bathroom, and all the painting, interior and exterior. They even put all the furniture back out on the patio, including re-assembling an iron-framed tent thing the tenants have. That was a nice touch, and totally not expected or required. Sam was always interested to make sure that I was happy at every step of the process. All in, We were very pleased with the results and feel that we got exactly what we paid for. Sam's advice on site was well informed and honest. He never tried to 'up-sell' me, or let me make a bad decision. Nick and Sam were both very professional and personable. I felt very comfortable with them through the entire experience. They were willing to work with me on changes to the contract that I required, and were very good about dealing with my tenant, who was living in the unit, and usually home all day during the entire project. The tenant also has a cat, which the workers never let escape. Well done across the boards. I will call them first for the next big job I have.
