    Dennis M Clancy Restorations
He came and gave me an estimate on several antique pieces that I recently inherited. He gave me a very reasonable estimate and did a great job on the first set of thongs. I have more antiques coming that will need quality restoring and I have confidence that Dennis will retire things without causing loss of value.

    Blake Fuentes Painting, Inc.
Blake was very punctual, very efficient, and very professional. He was also significantly less expensive than the two other quotes we got. He and his two assistants got the job done in the amount of time they quoted (one week).  They supplied the paint after we told them which colors to use.  When we weren't sure about one color, he did a test swatch so we could see if it was what we wanted.
The walls and ceilings look great. The reason I'm giving him a B overall is because there were a few paint drips on the mirrors in the bathrooms, some on the floor, and one on the carpet; also, some caulking wasn't done.  Blake cleaned this all up and finished the caulking, but I had to point it out to him.
I would recommend him, and would use him again.

I had a flood in my home because a large pipe had burst.  When I called USAA I told them what had happened and the woman on the phone told me to put my feet up and they would send someone out to take care of everything. They said that whoever they sent out would pull everything out, clean up the mess, and put everything back the way it was.

My insurance company sent this company out and they have destroyed my home. This company went into my den on the first day and packed everything into about 50 boxes, leaving them in piles around my house.  They disconnected all of the computer and telephone systems, saying that they needed to do this to get to the dry wall. They took it upon themselves to throughout things that were mine, packing up my important tax and checking documents and I am unable to find any of it.  They sent someone new each day and they would take 2 hour lunches, text the entire day, and I ended up being the one working all day while they played.

They did not even get to the garage until the 9th day, November 12th, and I knew something was going on.  They would not come some days or would come later in the day so that the most they were at my home was 3-4 hours.  The equipment that they used to dry areas of the home was broken and the hose had holes in it causing water to go to areas that were not previously damaged.  At the end of this day the provide was leaving and said that USAA had told them that they had to leave because they were not going to pay for their companies services any longer.  They have left me high and dry with a broken garage door, a non-working washer and dryer, electricity and internet that is out, and boxes everywhere.  I am not sure where to go from here.

They broke dishes, antiques, and other items in my home.  One day I grabbed one of the trash bags they were using and found containers full of my broken things.  They had tried to hide it from me! I have had 17 bones surgeries and it is extremely difficult for me to do anything.  I have had two concussions as a result of the mess in my home.

Nobody should have to be put through this abuse!  Please, don't hire this provider.  I would not use them every again.

    Rangel Painting
I called him and he seemed very interested in the job.  He said that he would come on Saturday and I asked him to come to the garage, not the door.  He was then a no show.  He wrote down the wrong address and he was very difficult to talk to, as he did not pay attention to the instructions.

He came back and I showed him the work I needed fixed.  He asked who did the damage and I told him, but asked him to not contact him.  He contacted them anyway and then was no longer responsive to me.

He does not show up for his estimate and when he does he does not communicate well.

The owner, Bill, was a pleasure to work with; he was timely in his responses to us, and very knowledgeable.  The crew at PacWest Painting was consistently on time, polite and organized.   It was obvious the talented 5 member crew had worked together over many years as Bill had told us early on in quote process. The crew proactively asked us "fine-tune" kinds of questions when they were unsure about a decision, for example, the color to be used to paint our chimney caps.  All of the work was completed efficiently in 5 working days with no damage to our house, adjacent shrubs or paint spillage.  The price we were charged for painting and additional work was fair comparing against 4 other competitive quotes we obtained.  Overall, this was the best experience with a contractor for us in our 14 years of home ownership.  Additionally, 4 of our neighbors gave us positive feedback on the painting work and were impressed with the speed of completion of the job.

    A Jack Of All Trades
They did nothing. I asked how they could perform the work they claim to be able to do and yet hold no licenses at all. I checked the contactors website for the owner and company name and no valid license is possesed. There was no reply. He's a fraud.

We had faux beams removed from the ceiling which left a lot of holes.  After new dry wall was fitted into those voids, new plaster was applied to the ceiling and to all of the living room walls.

They did a great job and I hope to have them back when I continue with the remodel of the dining room and kitchen.

    Korling Green
Amboy Korling and his assistant were extremely polite and professional.  They did nice work, particularly on the door frame, where looks are critical.  They arrived at 8 am, with materials, and set up their table saw on the patio. They plugged it in and began work.  They were finished at about 4 pm, on a job that could easily have taken 2 days.
They replaced the rotted header for the door with a nice piece of 4x4 lumber.  They replaced the casing for the door, making sure that the original door would still fit.  It looks great and all we need is to have it painted.
They cut and installed extensions for about 40 rafters under the eaves.  The original rafters were rounded at the end so that they would not take a gutter.  The extensions will allow us to get well-placed gutters.  Our present gutters were installed with a crude system that led to the dry rot problem.
The original plan had been for them to add a downspout in the middle of the gutter on one side of the house, but after looking at the relatively simple installation of the gutters they left that out, and cut $200 from the price.  However, they tilted the gutter so that it would drain to the far end: if the original installer had done this, the dry rot wouldn't have happened to begin with.
We're now on our way to having the woodwork of the entire house painted, and new gutters installed, but those are tasks for other contractors.
This was a great repair to something that I had despaired of getting fixed.

I got 3 estimates for window coverings and chose Hallmark Shutters in Goleta because I thought they had the best reputation. I was willing to spend a little more because PJ said I would be getting local service and repair work if ever needed. He seemed like an honest person. About 6 months after everything was installed a cord on the motorized window blind slipped up into the cells, after I tugged on it. I have called the office 3 times over a month and gotten one call back promising a repairman would phone me. No repairman has called and it's been 6 or 7 days since I was told he would. What a shame!

    Kitchen Tune-Up
Wow an A+ overall remodeling experience! We just finished the walk through of our finished kitchen remodel. Kitchen Tune Up provided exceptional service and our kitchen looks absolutely awesome! We had an idea of what we wanted in our remodel and they provided the products and services that delivered far beyond our expectations. From sales to design and service, they did an absolutely outstanding job! Our Cabinet installation, granite and flooring installation/coordination went perfectly. We will be using them again in the future when we're ready to do the baths and would recommend to our family and friends, just a great local/family company to work with.
    Thank you so very much!
