I went in for a smog check for registration in CA. It was lunchtime on a weekday, and he took me as soon as I arrived. I talked with the technician as he performed the check. No problems, so I was out in about 10 minutes. Even threw in some candy for passing which was a nice touch. I'm not sure why 10 - 15 minutes of labor should cost $50, but it was the cheapest I could find in Goleta. Also, when I called on the phone he said $50, when I arrived in person he said $56 since my car is out of state, but I told him he had quoted $50, and I was only charged $50.

LIAR and CHEATS. Do not go here.
My girlfriend took a vehicle here to get smogged. The car failed the smog test due to "visible smoke", essentially, the mechanic claims to have seen smoke from the tailpipe. I won't argue if this is true, although the vehicle passed at another station later. The mechanic then recommended a $250 "engine purge" to fix the problem. As a former mechanic, I know there is no such thing. After asking about it, it turns out an "engine purge" is this mechanic's own invention, a cleaning solution for the engine. They also claimed the brake fluid was dirty and recommended a brake fluid change. This was a complete lie, the brake fluid was flushed less than a week before. I checked it afterwards myself, it was crystal clear. I can well imagine that after paying hundreds of dollars for needless service the mechanic wouldn't see any smoke anymore.
As a former honest mechanic, few things make me madder than a dishonest mechanic. I can only assume the mechanics saw that my girlfriend knew nothing about cars, i.e. a sucker, and tried to milk it. Do not trust anything these people say.

First let me say that I've been working on cars as an enthusiast for over forty years.  I am better than most home shop mechanics and have rebuilt many engines, from motorcycles to Mercedes diesels.  I know and love cars.  I will tackle almost any automotive job because I am a perfectionist and have been let down by many so-called "professional"  mechanics. I am also an engineer.

I initially thought that the ball joints on my Mercedes were worn because I heard some grinding when turning the steering wheel while stopped.  I do my own work on this car and had replaced these ball joints about 10 years ago myself. I figured that they needed to be replaced again but didn't want to rent the ball joint press and go through a week of not having my car so I scheduled Eigis to replace both front ball joints for me.  To my surprise he found that the noise was due to a worn tie rod end and replaced it instead.  Problem fixed. He could have easily replaced the ball joints and the tie rod end which would have cost a lot more and I would have been none the wiser.

I appreciate having an honest and skillful mechanic work on my car.  And what's even more impressive is that his prices are fair.

You won't go wrong having Stuttgart Motors work on your German car.

    Stateway Auto Transport Inc
Moving from California to Massachusetts, we are flying out on the 2nd. We gave Stateway a two-week window to pick up our car, with the last day being the 31st. We called and emailed them repeatedly for a week, with no responses. After we sent them a nasty email, one person (Pam) finally called back. She said that she would arrange shipment and get back to us by the 31st. We said that as long as the car shipped by the 1st, (before we get on the airplane) that was fine. She never called us back. I called every five minutes for two hours, with no call back. I sent an email to Pam ... no response. I called a few more times, and one time she actually answered the phone. She told me that she had booked a carrier (a different company) for the 4th, and then sent me an email with the details, including the fact that the cost will be $200 more than what it said when we made a deposit. I got the email and responded saying that we want to cancel the order, as this is outside of our window (we have been clear all along that we are FLYING to Massachusetts on the 1st). She is now telling us that we forfeited our deposit and she will be charging us a $100 cancellation fee.
    1. They state on their website that they are a carrier. This is not true; they are a broker.
    2. They do not return phone calls.
    3. They do not return emails.

Robert quickly and efficiently diagnosed the cause of an oil leak near the distributor on my '97 Honda Odessey. A non-replaceable seal within the distributor was the culprit and he had it fixed the same day. I have been taking my car to him for years and have complete trust in his technical abilities and honesty.
I previously had him perform an oil change and asked him to also replace the plugs, wires, rotor and cap. (The car had over 100K miles on it) He callled me later that day and said the rotor, wires and cap looked new so he didn't replace them. I had forgotten that Honda recalled the vehicle and replaced those components a year earlier. Robert could have replaced those parts and I wouldn't have been the wiser. This honesty is rare in the automotive repair business. He never recommends something that doesn't need to be done.
Highly recommend him to all Honda and Acura owners.

I think that the price was competitive. I really like the people there. Anytime something goes wrong, they take the time to fix the car. Very seldom have I ever had to leave it over night and my car is a 1990, it has over 300,000 miles.

They are really good. The price was lower than a dealership. Eddie the owner is fantastic. This car is a 1993 for Taurus. When my dad moved in with us, it was acting poorly, so I took it to the dealership and they told us it would cost us $5000 to get it fixed and we should just junk it and buy a new car. We took it to Eddie and he said that he could do all of the work that they said it needed, but he said that it would run perfectly fine if we did only x,y, and z. That was in 2000, and has been running just fine for another 13 years. He put some stuff in the radiator that sealed it up and it is great for a little town car, I would not drive it too far. Eddie is honest and very sparing with people’s money.

Unfortunately during diagnosis they cracked the faceplate of the panel.
Ultimately I bought a used one on ebay, brought it over, and they
installed it for free and reimbursed the cost of the part (but not the
diagnosis). Overall the experience was okay but not great because of
    this extra hassle.

This was a great deal!  We spent $5 for a $20 gift card for Shell. I received the gift card via mail and it was very easy from my perspective.  Would purchase a similar deal like this in the future if offered.
