We obtained several bids for a major home renovation which included a complete demolition of the interior and the addition of 500 square feet. After comparing and meeting with all potential contractors we decided to go with Fermin based on personal recommendations from people we know who had used him in the past. His pricing was very competitive and we found both his work and the materials used to be of high quality. We found it very easy discussing various issues with Fermin and appreciated his suggestions on handicap bathroom design and the open kitchen concept. It was reassuring to know that Fermin was always on site and that he and his crew were prompt and very professional. Fermin pulled all the necessary permits and worked with city inspectors on any issues in order to get the approvals. We are very pleased with the work that Fermin and his crew did on the house which was completed within the scheduled time and budget. We highly recommend Fermin and crew for any small or large project.

    Js Concrete Cutting & Breaking
We called JS Concrete for a estimate and spoke with Jesse. He came out the time and date we planned, emailed a estimate and got
right on it the following day. He did exactly everything he said in his estimate. We Will definitely recommend JS concrete for our next project. Good work!!

    E.A Masonry
I called and spoke to the owner. He scheduled an appointment to come to my home. A window of 3 pm to 4 pm was set. He did not show up and did not call. I called him several times to find out if he was coming. First call he hung up as I said hello. The next 2 calls were not taken at all. I took time off from work to meet with E. A. Masonry.

    PVM Concrete Contractor
obtained several bids for our job, PVM was not the cheapest but we chose them primarily because of the many positive reviews on Angies List. The demolition crew arrived exactly as planned, worked efficiently and had the old driveway demolished and removed in a few hours. The installation crew of 4 had the new driveway and porch done in about 1.5 days. After the job was completed they cleaned and left our property in fine condition, very satisfied with the results.

I bought the $1200 or whatever deal for a walkway around the house. We decided to have more done, so it ended up being about a grand more. The haggling involved was really annoying. The price started at way more, and although I don't know a lot about concrete work, to me it seemed like it doesn't cost that much to actually do, but everyone charges outrageous prices just because they can and they drop the prices when people push back. But whatever, we were happy with the price and agreement. Then they did the work. Excellent! Super awesome. The reason we got the work done was because our foundation was shifting and we really needed to direct water away from the slab. That's why we got the walkway. Well about a month after our new sidewalk was installed I noticed water pooling at the base of the foundation, got out the level, and realized one of the sides was SLANTED TOWARDS THE HOUSE INSTEAD OF AWAY.  So I called, they were really nice, sent the guy back out to take a look. We totally missed the appointment which was our bad, but he managed to look anyway and they agreed to fix it. Really with zero problems or pushback. The problem was it was now the middle of rainy season (I am having a heart attack every time it rains and all that water is draining into my foundation) and they couldn't make it out for a few weeks. Then the day arrives, and they have to push it out another week. Now to their credit, I made a stink, and they only pushed it out 5 days instead of the 7. Otherwise I'm really happy with the work. So I guess in summary, they do really good work. They have great communication, and fix things without an argument. The huge glaring thing is (again, I'm not a concrete expert) how do you slant the concrete the wrong direction. But they fixed it. I would probably hire them again, I just wish they had been more apologetic about the whole water draining into the house thing.

Mark Ovitz promptly responded to my request for an estimate to do this job.  He presented a very detailed explanation of the whole process along with the a very professional written estimate.  Nothing was left to be assumed.  What he said, he did.  His crew is excellent and very skilled in what they do.  Mark was available at all times to oversee the project and was just as likely to pitch in and help.  Everything went along smoothly.  Great job!!!

    MARVA General Construction
Vache was recommended to me by a co-worker, which I followed up with a search on Angie's List. He was extremely responsive to my initial email contact requesting a quote to install an electronic dog door in my wall. He asked that I send him pictures of the interior and exterior of the area that I wanted the door installed and a link to the website that I purchased the dog door from so that he could review the specification and installation instructions. Within a day, Vache sent me an email with the cost to do the job, broken down into each part of the job and for some optional work.
For $125 he would install the dog door with all hardware and seal the exterior perimeter with paint-able caulking. For
$150 (including all materials and labor), he would hardwire the door
into the nearest electrical outlet and move 1 electrical wire, if
necessary. For $150, he would create a small concrete step to cover the distance of my raised foundation.
For $60, he would patch the stucco or if I preferred, he would cover the stucco with something else for nothing
I requested it all to be done for a total of $485.
We scheduled him to start work that Saturday morning (4 days in advance) at 9:00 a.m. Vache called a few minutes before arriving to be sure that I was home and knew he was almost there and arrived promptly at 9. After I showed him to the room and outside area, he got right to work. I watched him work part of the time and asked a few questions, which he was happy to answer fully. After the work was finished, he cleaned up the area outside with a shop-vac and inside with a shop-vac and broom and dust pan, which I truly appreciate. He was here until about 5:00 p.m. and completed all work to my satisfaction. He did not try to up-charge any service or sell me anything I did not need.
I was impressed with his responsiveness, pricing, quality of work, and overall professionalism. I have other work around my house and fully intend to have him back.

I scheduled Josh to provide an estimate for concrete work and bathroom remodel. Twenty-five minutes after the scheduled time - 12 noon on a sunday - I called him. He said he had an emergency that morning and sent his brother to provide the estimate but he wasn't sure his brother got the message. He said he'd call his brother and call me back in 2 minutes. Twenty-five minutes later, still no call, so I called again and got his voicemail. I left the message that there are plenty of other contractors we could use and the fact that he didn't keep the appointment, or call back when he said he would were red flags for us. I'm sure he did have an emergency, but to not contact and let us know - leaving us waiting around on a sunday afternoon - is a clear sign that this is not a company we want to work with.
