James was very responsive and easy to work with. He arrived on time and worked efficiently. We agreed on the price before he started work, and the cost was very reasonable (including key copies). I would definitely recommend him.

    Gene's Lock & Key
Gene came on time, and rekeyed the dead bolt, and replaced the front door lock. He also reminded me to rekey the mailbox lock and did so. His service was very speedy and reliable. I would use his service again, and recommend him to anybody who need a locksmith. The only comment is that he charged $60 for the service call, but probably worth for the quality service.

When the locksmith came out, he forgot one of the doorknobs to re-key. He didn't come out for another 3 weeks to replace that doorknob. During that time, I went to their shop on a Friday or Saturday and no one was there. I had found it very weird that a locksmith company would be closed on the weekend. Also, when he came back out, the doorknob didn't match the color of all the other doorknobs.

It went well. He showed up and started work right away. Very nice and even fixed the door as it was not closing properly. It was a struggle to shut.I had to lift it a little just to align it with the door knob.  The door closes easily now. I am planning on calling him again to get an estimate on another job that I need. I was very happy with the work.

James was professional and punctual. He reviewed my sliding glass door which is very old and missing any lock. He was able to provide a lock that he attached. The total job took less than an hour and I now have a lock on a door that has been missing for more than a year.

    Perfect.
Saturday night call for tenants locked out of a room with no key
Called multiple people, 80% did not pick up.
One person wanted nearly three times the price!
He was very quick to respond and followed up appropriately.
I usually don't take the time to write reviews but the experience was very good

My entry door would not unlock.  The key just turns and turns.  I bought one of Angies' Big Deal for a locksmith and used it.  I call James and informed him my lock to my entry door would not work.  This was on a Friday and we scheduled for him to come out Saturday morning between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
James called me at 9 a.m. Saturday morning and informed me that he received an emergency call and would it be possible for him to come right after.  I told him it was ok.
James arrived around 11 a.m., looked at the problem.  I purchased a new entry lock and showed it to him.  He informed me that he would prefer to install the new lock instead of trying to find out what's wrong with the lock because it would cost more specially when we find out it needs to be replaced anyway.  I told him that would be fine.  By the time he got the old lock out, he said the parts were deteriorating and needed to be replaced.
James did a great job and I would recommend him immensely.

    Gene's Lock & Key
I found Gene on Angie's List and he had the most reviews of any local locksmith.  All "A's" and lots of positive reviews is what I always look for when searching for someone on Angie's List.  I spoke with him on the phone and made an appointment with him for the next morning.  He arrived exactly when he said he would.  He checked the locks, as I wanted to make sure they were deadbolt locks before he re-keyed them.  I also wanted a larger key which he accommodated me with.  His work is very professional.  He is courteous and friendly.  I will recommend him to anyone that has the need for a good locksmith.

    Gene's Lock & Key
I had a frozen lock on my front security screen door which could not be closed again for fear that I'd be trapped in or out of the house. As I had three other locks that were old and a mixture of manufacturers, this seemed like a perfect time to call a locksmith and get the bad lock replaced and the other locks as well with new ones with a common key.The first locksmith I called did not work on Saturdays. I called Gene, who was very nice on the phone and was willing to come out and we agreed upon a time. He was running a little late from a prior job, but was a professional and called to let me know. When he arrived, he quickly assessed the situation and stated that two of the four locks were still good, but he would re-key them to be common with the two new locks that were needed. He did an excellent job and his suggestions were spot on. The price was less than I had originally expected and he did not try to sell me more than what was needed. I will definitely be using Gene for any future locksmithing that I need.

    Baldwin Hardware Specialist
I explained my problem and scheduled an appointment. I was given a 1 hour window of when the technician would arrive. On the day of the appointment, I was called and notified of the expected arrival time of the technician.
Stan arrived as expected and we talked about the problem. I noticed that he replaced the latch and the deadbolt. He also did some adjustments so the lock is and quot;stiffand quot; like new when it now turns. Although the bolt opens better than before, there are still times when the latch does not retract completely. So we spent some time opening and closing the latch and noticed that there is a small part of the latch that does not completely retract. That apprears to be what is causing the door to not open at times. Stan looked at several things on the door and showed me that the top hinge has a lot of and quot;playand quot; and should be replaced. He also pointed out that the door is no longer centered (sagging) which could be from the hinges. He recommended that I first try replacing the hinges. It is a heavy door that is frequently used so the wear on the hinge is causing the door to sag and rub on the jam. By replacing the hinges, the door may realign as when originally installed so that the latch should work as expected. Sounded reasonable to me. He also explained another option if that does not resolve the problem. I appreciate the insight and plan to proceed on the replacing the hinges. We also talked about the discoloration of the finish since Baldwin has a lifetime warranty on the finish. I opted to defer replacing the whole lock due to the finish and he mentioned that he would annotate this so that the next time I need service, we can discuss the finish again. Overall, I was satisfied with the service.
