Glass Repair reviews in Fremont

  • At the time of the work a little over two years ago, we worked with Tom Levi with Goodfellas Construction to have our work done. Now, some of the work they did (copper repiping and bathroom shower/bath remodel) has failed and we have a water leak in the second story bathroom shower wall that they constructed. The water is leaking down through the floor into the first floor half bath. I called Goodfellas in San Jose on August 30 and the receptionist told me the company had been sold to American Home Builders and that my name was not on a list of clients, therefore they would not help me. I asked for a name of an individual to talk to and/or the manager of the firm, and the receptionist refused to provide it. Then I called Goodfellas in Calabasas and spoke to the receptionist there "Lisa" who told me she would have "Lorena" call me back. I have received no call back.

  • We did a remodeling project for our house. Luxcess Home by SOD Builders was very knowledgeable, skilled, did met all the deadlines of many topics related to the remodeling project, communicated with us very often and met the budget very good. The office staff and the project manager were sharp, knowledgeable and always responded punctually to us. The communication was critical during the remodeling process. The painting team did a very detailed job and made sure to cover everything before they even started to paint. After the work was finished, our supervisor came over and checked everything at the house. All his corrections were fixed by Luxcess Home by SOD Builders people on a the same week. Luxcess Home by SOD Builders did the remodeling job done very professionally and to our best satisfaction.

  • It went well from scheduling, quote, removal and installation. the frameless enclosure looks great. Just a minor issue, the area where the old framed was they used almond color caulking to hide the old area. The caulking doesn't match the current grout or tile and the door seal is making a grove in the caulking. This could be a potential issue long term if not corrected.

  • It has always gone well, and so Dennis has done multiple jobs for me and I am in the process of planning my next one. Always very happy with his communication, pricing and follow up and everyone that works with him has been professional, courteous and gone the extra mile.

  • Ryan and his team were awesome! They arrived when they said they were going to. They were very neat, didn't make a mess. They took out all of the sliders, re-screened everything, and they did a great job! They were quite and I felt very comfortable with them in my home. Also, they washed the windows!

  • The project went very well - on time, on budget (with later extra on change orders) with overall good quality. Mike finished the project exactly on the day he promised! To achieve that, he put extra effort on weekend himself to keep everything on track per the schedule he handed over to us when we signed the contract, which is very tight and other contractors say they can't do. We really, really appreciate that as the winter was coming and Christmas was just around the corner.  He stuck on the quality. He saw the exterior stucco work had some flatness problem on one side (he called it wavy but I didn't notice that at all. He said that he could see it at 2:30 pm when the sun light shines at certain angle). He got his subcontractor back, scraping down the stucco and refinishing it until he satisfied). His subcontractors including electricians, cabinetry guys, granite guys, tile guys, hardwood floor guys, glass shower guys all provided top quality workmanship (5 out of 5). Only the interior texture guys may earn a little than perfect rating (still good but not great - 4 out of 5). This may due to his regular experienced guy had injury on his arm so his apparatus finished the work.    I highly recommend Mike -  his bid may not be the lowest but should be reasonable and you can't go wrong with him.

  • Had to replace a broken glass on the patio door. Called couple of patio door companies and glass companies to get a quote - some of them suggested to replace the door itself instead of replacing the broken glass(this would cast $1400+), some quoted $550 to $800 for replacing the broken glass. I called Anthony's glass, Jose showed up within an hour and mentioned that cost would be little over $400 based on the size, he measured the size and told me that it would take 4-5 days to get the glass. He called me that evening and mentioned that the cost would be $430 for my door size and asked me whether I'm ok with the price. I accepted. After 4 days, got a call from Jose, saying that glass was ready, and scheduled an appointment to replace the glass. Jose and other guy showed up next day, and replaced the broken glass, and they also fixed some minor issues with the door. He inspected our other patio door and made some corrections to move smoothly. Very pleased with the overall experience. Perfect on time and clearly communicated the details, and very  professional.

  • I asked Pleasanton Glass for an estimate for a custom glass shower door.  An appointment was made, and the sizer came promptly on time.  He was very professional, answered all of my questions, and I think he did a good job of taking measurements.  However the estimate that I got for the shower door was $1200 higher than the next highest bid.  I checked the references of the other companies, and since they had good references and track records, I did not choose Pleasanton Glass.

FYI, when I called Pleasanton Glass to setup an appointment for an estimate, they first said that they did not work in Fremont, which is only about 15 miles away.  I had to tell them that my contractor recommended them before they agreed to come to my house.  However their Web page has comments from customers in Fremont.  I don't know if not working in Fremont is new or if the person who took the phone call was new, but it doesn't seem like good business not to work in a city that is only about 15 miles away.  BTW, the glass company that I eventually chose to install the glass door is based in San Mateo, which is about 25 miles away.

  • I needed a custom glass shower door for my remodeled bathroom. I checked Angie's List and Yelp, and LG Shower and Glass had good reviews on both sites. I called the company and made an appointment to have an estimate made.

Luis came on time, and he is a very courteous and professional person who answered my questions and pointed out some features about my new shower that I wasn't aware of. For example, since the toilet is very close to the shower, the shower door had to be a certain size so it wouldn't hit the toilet.

I received estimates from about eight different companies for the shower door, and LG Shower and Glass was on the higher side. However there is a granite bench in the shower and most of the other glass companies were going to cut the granite instead of cutting the glass around the granite. LG Shower and Glass cut the glass around the granite, and I think the price difference is due to the difference in technique. I did not want to have the granite cut, so I was happy to pay the difference.

The door was installed about a week after being ordered. When the installers ran into traffic, they called me to notify me. The tiles in my shower needed to be cut to install the glass, and the installers did an excellent job working with my tile contractor to minimize the amount of tile that needed to be cut. The installers installed the glass panels, and nicely answered my questions during the installation.

The glass has been installed for about two months, and I am very happy.

  • Luis came out and gave me great advice on what type of glass to use. He is extremely experienced in glass work and a pleasure to deal with. This is why I chose this company. Other companies just come and measure and leave. Luis educates you on what would look and function the best. And his price was lower than the others ! Installation was a breeze and his other team members were professional and spent the time to go through how to keep the glass clean. The shower looks great. If all the contractors I used were as good as these guys I would be a very happy homeowner !!
