    Sticks & Stones Construction
Jason was very meticulous and always made sure all the work was done well and to code by his team. He was responsive by email and text and handled all of our big and small requests. Our project was delayed by several weeks due to delays in some of the materials we ordered, but Jason promptly installed and fixed things up once our materials arrived. Jason helped us with a bathroom and kitchen remodel. We had contacted many contractors. Many contractors ignored us outright and others showed up and promised to follow up and never did. From the start Jason was upfront with his timelines and the costs. We appreciated his honesty and when the job was completed we were happy because their were no hidden costs. We have used other contractors in the past who started the job then added additional costs. During the bathroom remodel, Jason's team found a significant amount of wood rot due to leaking pipes and other not-to-code issues with our house. He let us know immediately, did not ignore the problems and offered a cost effective solution. Jason made sure all of his team's work was up to code and did a thorough job fixing the wood rot. We highly recommend working with Jason and his company!!

Joseph and his crew did everything that was promised on time, and within budget. We even added a few additional things to the scope of work along the way, and he was very accommodating. He does not nickel and dime you for small changes to scope, and he will do his best to make sure things are still done on time. If something isn't right the first time, he will do his best to come back and fix it.

    SOD Builders
We enjoyed very much working with Avi, Sari and their crew at SOD builders to remodel our master bathroom/bedroom and guest bathroom. During the remodeling project, the communications between us and the people who been at the house was very good and in fact it really helped with most of the stress that we had during the remodeling. The quality of each one of the crew was top notch and we were really surprised when we saw how they work. Each one of them always wanted to be sure that we were happy. Sari and Avi were fun and easy people to work with in the design and implementation stages. They were a huge help for us since we our design knowledge was not big. They kept listing to what we likes and dislikes and help us to find the perfect products for our remodeling. At the end of the work, everything looks very beautiful and all of our questions were addressed and solved to our satisfaction. We dont see ourselves happier with the results of how our remodeling project came out.

    SLIDING DOOR CO
Our experience with this company has been positive from beginning to end. We needed to replace the closet doors in our master bedroom and visited their San Francisco office to do some research. We met with Julianne and she was extremely helpful, showing us all the options available, demonstrating the doors and making suggestions when we asked for them. The doors are a bit pricey but not unreasonable, and very well-made and  attractive; we were sold. The rest of the process was very professional as well. Someone came to our house to take measurements and finalize how we wanted the doors to be installed. It took about 9 weeks for our custom doors to come but we were told this when we ordered. The installation team was excellent, did a beautiful job and left the room as clean as they found it. We did have 2 minor problems with the installation: one door did not self-close properly and one needed to be adjusted to be flush with the door next to it and to stay put when closed. The company was very responsive when we contacted them about this 6 months later and sent a crew who quickly fixed these issues to our satisfaction. They now work perfectly.
We absolutely love these doors. They are very attractive, functional and really add a dramatic highlight to our bedroom. We found all of their staff and installation sub-contractors to be easy to work with. We would use this company again and recommend them to others without hesitation.

    Bay Area Sliding Door Repair
Ok, I've had fantastic luck with all my recent contractors from Angie's list and they will all get good reviews when the work is finished, but rarely do I feel like raving about a service provider, but here goes the rave:
Bay Area Sliding Door Repair did a fantastic job on my 30+ year old large sliding door. The track and runners had gotten so stick that the frame was literally separating from the double paned glass. I thought I would have to replace the entire door at a cost of over $1000 dollars. Jeff and his apprentice showed up on time, were professional, polite, explained everything (including how to keep the old door functional for years to come), and did AMAZING work! He even recommended someone else to fix the screen door! Talk about professional ethics and pride in his work! If you have trouble with your sliding glass door, I urge you call Jeff first. You will save yourself lots of hassle and potentially lots of money.

    Bay Area Sliding Door Repair
Jeff replaced the rollers on the bottom of my Simington sliding glass door with rollers that are superior to the original rollers. He arrived on time, was very professional and did an excellent job repairing the door. it's working fine now with no problems. I thought the cost was high.

    Simon T Construction

As a very busy machine shop owner I don't have time to do any type of home improvement projects, so we called Simon to help us out. First we just wanted them to repair a couple of things, because these projects could not wait any longer. This was 5 years ago.Since then I lost count how many times we called him , because as we all know there is always something to do around a house.Just recently I have asked him to custom build chelves and cabinets and install them in my shop.He carefully measured everything what I wanted to store in thos cabinets and when they were done installing them , everything fit perfectly and not a single square inch was waisted. If Simon ran into some difficulties during the project he would consult us immediately and let us know if there any extra charges associated with the issues that needed to be addressed. As a business owner myself whose being used to precision , cleanliness  and accuracy I'm  very pleased with the service and professionalism that we got from them. If you know what you want  these guys will make it happen and might save you some money with their ideas how to get it done  in a more cost efficient way .

    Shaker Construction, Inc.
Phil Schwob at Straightedge has worked on multiple projects at my home. Everything has been great, with no surprises other than they turned out better than i expected. He has remodeled my two bathrooms, and both turned out wonderful, the master bath is now a beautiful oasis. He is creative, friendly, timely ... Other jobs he did here, tiling my floors, rebuilding the fireplace front, painting, I highly recommend his work. The last job was my master bathroom, where we designed with ceramic & glass tile, glass blocks to the bedroom to bring in more light, heated floor, even a TV.  Everything turned out perfect.

    Eichler Solutions,Inc
We own a 1960's mid-century modern Eichler home in Foster City. Walls in our home are huge floor to ceiling glass picture windows. There are also two sets of large 6' x 8' sliding patio doors. We originally had Eichler Solutions give us a bid to replace all the glass back in Sept of 2009 but took a pass as we decided to remodel other parts of the house. In May of 2011 we asked them to come out and requote the same job. Rodney, the salesperson, came out and presented us with various options. After an hour or so of negotiations we went with frameless and tinted dual-paned glass and heavy aluminum-framed, dual-paned, tinted low e glass sliding patio doors. This choice was the more expensive option over simple vinyl framed windows and doors, but we wanted to preserve the original modern look of the house.

At this point I want to point out that Rodney, the sales associate, was very knowledgeable and did present us with the many options available. We liked him but afterward felt like we had just gone through something akin to buying a new car.

We signed the contract on May 19th with a stated install date of June 15th. A few days prior to the install date we called and were informed that the sliding aluminum doors were being custom-made and that the entire project would be delayed. We recieved a call a few days later and set a new install date of July 6th. On July 6th the full crew showed up on time and for the next three days demoed and installed all of our larger windows. And this is where Eichler Solutions shines: Vladimir and his crew are true craftsmen. They really know their stuff. Being in Foster City our house is no where near level and this presented the crew with serious challenges. They handled these chellenges like the pros they are and the finished job is just incredible. They showed up on time every day and left the job site cleaned up at night. And this is important--they painted all the wood frame and trim, as none of the other window companies we got quotes from included painting any of the wood framing or trim.

From the name you would think that Eichler Solutions just works on Mid-Century Modern homes, but that is not the case.

We are super pleased with the job Eichler Solutions did. Our neigbors agree, and in fact just last night Vladimir and his crew finshed up a window replacement project for the family across the street from us.

The project cost $12,000, but money well spent. And just an fyi...this same job was quoted by another well-known Bay Area window company but quoted almost $8,000 more.
