    Seven months and still not a completed project! My experience with Ornamental Iron Outlet IS a NIGHTMARE. In November I ordered a gate. It took FIVE months for one side gate and one RV gate to be fabricated and installed. If what was installed is a reflection of five months of work, RUN. When I followed up on my project in January, I was told I would be contacted ���once we receive the product and do a quality inspection���. Apparently they have a different definition of quality that I do. The gates and posts had numerous large scratches across the gate, multiple gouges, sand marks and the edged along the bottom of the RV gate was chipped along the bottom. Looks like it was dragged to my house. There was no powder coat between the sheet metal and bars and not enough welding points. I can put my hand between the two. Not to mention, welding splatter all over and large indentions and marks. I called them and after speaking to them wrote them a detailed email with 15 photos. I copied three people at Ornamental Iron. NO ONE replied or acknowledged my email. I asked for someone to come look at the gate. NOTHING. After I followed up with them a week later, they sent someone to touch up the gate with 10 cans of spray paint to a powder coated gate! He sanded the gate, sprayed it. Left sand marks and stripes on it. It was awful. I asked him to stop and leave after can 5. He even sprayed the concrete black. He covered nothing. TWO MONTHS later they sent someone to see the job and discuss fabricating a new gate. They agreed the job was horrible. They finally removed the gate and posts and installed a classy chain-link fence. I asked for an approximate date and change work order, per their contract, with an expected time frame. I received NOTHING. SEVEN MONTHS later (June) I have NO gate and I can���t tell you when a new one might be installed. I hated looking at the iron gate, but this chain-link fence takes the cake. It���s tacky. I want nothing to do with them. Folsom, California

    This was a custom fabrication that required onsite framing and fabrication at the shop. There were some errors in the original fabrication, but they were corrected in a timely manner. Additionally, some minor issues were resolved to our satisfaction. Bill, the owner was very responsive and attentive to make sure his company is well represented.

    I am very pleased with the fence part of the job.  But of the four gates only one latches properly.  The other three will not stay latched.  When I called Irish Iron to complain they told me to get a "key" to attach to latch to weight it down so it would not open.  This is  a total "mickey mouse" fix and I am so mad at myself for accepting this from the installer.  I should have insisted that they return and fix the three gates that don't stay latched.  They should have returned promptly and adjusted the gates.  I would not recommend them to anyone.

    Cal-Sierra Fence
    We contacted Cal-Sierra Fence in early April to install additional fencing to what existed in our new home in mid-April.  They gave us the date they would provide the service as April 16.  We needed to move in with our 2 Great Danes on April 22.  When we called the week of April 16 to verify the plans, we were in informed that since we did not respond to an email that we did not receive, that we were not on the schedule any longer.  We discussed the fact that we did not receive an email or phone call. They offered to come on that Saturday if we would pay $300 (10%) extra.  Since we were in a bind/desperate, we agreed to that.  2 men came and did the work.  We were able to bring our dogs the next week as planned. 
    The gate that held the fencing in was supported by a post that was free-standing, and it failed the first day we used it.  I called Dan at Cal-Sierra, and they came out the next week to fix it, saying the cement was at fault.  
    2 weeks later, my dogs were able to move the free-standing post again, and escape from their yard, which resulted in a serious spinal cord injury to one of them.  I called Cal-Sierra the day after the escape & injury (May 15), and they agreed to come out and trouble-shoot (Dan described this a "MacGyver") the post.  He stated they would come with supplies, welding equipment, and troubleshoot this until it was functional.  The date arrived that they were supposed to come (May 18), and I got a message that they were detained and would come the next day at 8 am.  Since I had to be here to keep my one remaining Great Dane in the house, I needed to know when they were coming.  There was no one here by 10 am, so I contacted the company and was assured that someone was on their way.  No one was here at 11.  I sent another message that I needed to leave, but needed this post fixed definitively before I could.  I was assured someone would be here.  Finally, a repair person arrived, and he let himself into the backyard without letting me know he was here.  I found him in the back, digging up what remained of the cement where the post had failed.  I asked him what his plan was for definitively fixing the post.  He stated "I was just sent here to reset the post".  After a lengthy discussion, he finally anchored the post to the house adequately to support the gate.   To say this process was frustrating & unacceptable is an understatement.  It cost 10% more than originally agreed on, required 2 return visits, at least a dozen calls & texts, my loss of several hours of time, $8,000 in vet bills and a permanent disability of one of my pets.  The final straw was the serious lack of responsibility and communication on the company's end to fix the problem.

    I faxed Kerry a picture of the area the trellis would be in, and she sketched a trellis on the picture so I could visualize what it would look like. I went down to their shop to pick my color coating, and I was glad I did because I was able to see samples of Scott's beautiful work and also pick the 6-inch mesh, rather than the 4-inch I had originally selected. Scott and I discussed the design, and he agreed that the 6-inch mesh was less and quot;busy,and quot; since I was going to train three miniature roses to grow over the trellis.

    The trellis turned out absolutely beautiful, and Scott and his apprentice did a great job of installing and bracing the trellis. It has held up beautifully, so far, and I expect it will for many years to come.

    Twisted Metal had a special going, so I got a discount off the base price. I paid extra for the power coating, but I'm glad I did, as there has been very little rust on the trellis--just a few tiny areas where the mess connects to the frame.

    Can't say enough good things about these folks, Scott is a real perfectionist in both his work and the installation. I will certainly use them again for any ironwork I have and recommend them to others.

    Ornamental iron waited the weather to improve and us to refinish the fence. They kept in touch with us and once we were ready, did the installation quickly. The fence looks great and they did a fantastic job.

    FENCE WORLD
    I signed the contract in March and was told that it would be approximately 2-weeks for installation. It's now May 14th and the work still hasn't been completed. I've been waiting for 2-weeks for the deadbolts to be installed. This business is 'not' customer friendly.
