    ABBOTT HEATING & AIR COND
The initial maintenance visit identified a problem with the flue. A second visit was scheduled for later in the week to repair the flue. The issues and options were described to me and I was satisfied with the work performed.

    Gilmore Heating & Air
My HVAC system was very old as was the associated ducting. Both were replaced as well as an old water heater. Gilmore helped me select new systems that are reliable, suitable to my home and energy efficient. They patiently answered my myriad of questions and provided pictures of my currents equipments many issues. All the technicians worked quickly and kept me apprised of the progress and of any issues encountered. They took pride in their work. All my contacts at Gilmore were very positive, friendly and professional. I have already scheduled a plumbing project and look forward to working with them again. I am happy to recommend them to others.

    ABBOTT HEATING & AIR COND
Todd was truly amazing. He was thorough, prompt and highly knowledgeable about heating appliances. He even gave us an education in filters. He found several problems caused by a previous technician and it could have started a fire. Todd tested a capacitor and replaced it because it was under performing. I would hire him again and again, I cannot recommend him more highly.

    CAPITAL AIRE SYSTEMS
On Thursday, July 19th our A/C stopped working around noon (104 degree day). Called a few A/C repair companies from YELP & Angie's List and none of them were able to come to my house for 6 to 7 days. I called Capital Aire and they were able to fit me in the next day. A very nice, polite, professional man, Jake, checked out the entire system and luckily had the needed replacement part with him - we were up and running in no time. He was a life saver - sure wasn't looking forward to another night without A/C. If I have any heating or A/C problems in the future they will be my first call.

JR Putman Plumbing, Heating and Air
From the sales pitch to the post-install calls to see how things were going, this was a smooth, professional, and completely painless process! I wish ALL contractors were as professional, knowledgeable, and efficient as JR Putnam! After a thorough assessment of my house and attic, they suggested I move from a 2.5 to 3 ton AC. I also wanted another vent in the living room and to upgrade my insulation to R30. I ended up going with the second-highest level of service, and I was able to finance the whole purchase through Wells Fargo via JR Putnam for 6 years at 0%! How can you beat that? They redid all the electrical to the box, and handled all inspections except for one, which they left me the paperwork for and told me I could schedule. They also helped me file for my $500 SMUD rebate and redid the smoke detectors. This was over a year ago, and I had my first inspection and filter change in late April 2018, which was also COMPLIMENTARY. So far, NO ISSUES. The system keeps the house cool or warm beautifully. That half ton for the AC and the new living room vent has made a HUGE difference in how comfortable the living room is now in the afternoon. My electric bills have remained about the same, but I went from 2.5 to 3 ton with the AC, so I'm getting better cooling for the same cost. The system and work wasn't cheap, but I definitely believe I got what I paid for, and I consider JR Putnam a "full-service" operation. And that financing deal was impossible to beat.

    Ecology Air Innovations Inc.
The initial consultation went very well. They were the only contractor that actually went up into the attic to see the duct work and address the cooling problems that I was having in the house. They fixed the issues and now the house gets plenty of air everywhere! The new unit works great so far. I also had them install a whole house fan which they did a great job as well. Thank you Ecology Air Innovations and team!

    Gilmore Heating & Air
I am glad with the services of Humberto in doing the maintenance job. The overall rating I would give is excellent service with his punctuality, professionalism (explaining every step of the work he did with comparison on the optimal functioning of the systems and the items that need to be addressed), consumer-friendly, very positive work ethics, sincere positive attitude on the company he works for and the co-workers), and making the customer feel confident and comfortable with the optimal functioning of the systems. I will not hesitate to ask for his services anew in the next maintenance round check. Kudos to the Humberto and to Gilmore. More power to you!

I saw an ad on Angie's list for a Quiet Cool Trinity Pro 3.3 whole house fan system installed for a good price. However, I wasn't quite sure the 3.3 would move enough air for my sq. footage. I left a msg. and Christopher the owner called me back the next day as he was out of town. We talked about the system and since I already had a pre-existing fan, but it was the old style box top from 20 years ago that sounded like a plane taking off. Christopher assured me the 3.3 would be more than enough for my sq. footage, especially since I installed a Quiet Cool Attic Gable Vent fan that moves a lot of air too. He also said the noise reduction would amaze me and it did. It's been turned on high and the lady of the house didn't even know it was turned on. Since, I know how to tape, top, texture, and paint, Christopher gave me a great discount from the Angie's list price. The guys, Phil and Eddie, showed up on time and ready to go. It went by fairly fast and I've just finished taping it out. Tomorrow or the day after, I'll get down to topping it and finish it with some orange peel texture spray to match the existing texture and paint. Great team and great price for a great product. Thanks!

    NorCal Mechanical Heating and Cooling
They sent over one of their employees (Ethan) to perform the work, he was professional and cared about our home. he would not walk in without shoe covers and the first thing he did was put down a drop cloth. his work was done quickly/professionally and for the price quoted. will definitely use Nor Cal Mechanical in the future.

    Gilmore Heating & Air
The Gilmore technician showed up promptly, was clean and courteous. I explained what was happening and ventured that the refrigerant had leaked as the HVAC system was 20 years old. He went up into the attic where the unit was located and bumped and thumped for around an hour or so, then came down and said my heat exchanger needed to be replaced due to cracks, which he showed me pictures of on his phone. Then, he proceeded to check the refrigerant levels at the condenser and found that the unit was two pounds low. Capacity is 9.5 pounds on the 4 ton Goodman unit I had. He replaced the two pounds at a cost of $125 a pound because the refrigerant is no longer legal to produce in CA. He did not say the coil was leaking in the attic or anything related to the issue. He then continued to push that I get the heat exchanger replaced. I told him I would think about it as it was just becoming hot and I wouldn't use the heater for quite awhile. Jump forward five months, I figured to replace the heat exchanger because winter is coming and called Gilmore to do the job. I found out that the cost to replace the heat exchanger in 20 year old equipment would be almost enough to buy a new, more efficient unit, not just the exchanger. So, I put out an RFQ for a complete HVAC R&R for the 20 year old Goodman equipment. Gilmore was first to respond, again. I took their estimate along with two others and selected someone else to do the work as Gilmore was only going to use the equipment they wanted to use, which is Rheem/Ruud equipment. I wanted Carrier. Well, it turns out that the the company that won the bid and R&R the old equipment had time to inspect the old heat exchanger with me after it was removed. Not only were there no cracks in it, it wasn't even the same heat exchanger type as shown to me by the AC technician on his phone. In addition, it would have been impossible for the tech to take apart the equipment in the first place to take the pictures he showed me. The other problem was I had a 4 ton AC coil and condenser and coil and a 3 ton heater with blower. This is insufficient to keep the coil from freezing and becoming brittle thus springing small leaks. An apples and oranges system. None of this was ever mentioned by Gilmore's tech and Chris, the guy that came out to do the HVAC system R&R bid. All in all, Gillmore's veracity is highly suspect when it comes to their service people. What they want to do is sell systems and install them for the big bucks that come with it. Buyer beware. I would never use Gilmore for anything ever again.
