  • I needed to get a second opinion on an estimate for some major body work being done by another shop that my insurance company had directed me too. I had some concerns about the other shop's estimate -- particularly the fact that they were going to try pound a dent out of the hood instead of replacing it. When I explained the situation to an estimator at this shop, she was very helpful and spent about 10 minutes with me patiently going through the estimate and explaining why the other shop was doing what it was doing. Although she had every opportunity to criticize and try to "out bid" the other shop, she never did. Instead, she just gave me good, sound advice -- no charge.
It's hard to find people you can trust who aren't solely motivated by their own self-interest. The helpful and friendly service I received from this shop was a breath of fresh air, and next time I need body work I'll be bringing my car here.

  • AJ called me right when I was told him would. Was very professional, asked me about what needed to be done. Gave me some good feedback and we made an appointment. Again AJ came right on time and I showed him the work I wanted completed. As we went over each car and what I wanted done, he would look for other dents that I may have missed and pointed them out. I had wanted some areas on two bumpers to be worked on but he said they were of plastic materials and said he couldn't do much with them. He was very good at explaining why and I completely understood along with appreciating his explanation. After going over ever car he gave me a quote which I thought was fair price IF the quality of work was going to be good. He got right to work and I left him to do his thing.
After he was all completed with his work he took me around each car to show what he had done. Beautiful work he did on each car! Will use him in the future and let my friend know about him. Easy to work with and great quality work.

  • It went almost perfect. I damaged the rear quarter panel of my truck when I backed up into a tree while hunting. It also damaged the frame in the same area. Kniesels did the work falwlwssly. They found the frame not true due to an accident years earlier. They straightened the old frame damage as part of this work as well. They worked with my old insurer and got me reimburssed for the frame work that was not done correctly by B&J Auto Body the first time. They also installed some IRON BULL bumpers on the front and rear of my truck that I delivered to their shop. Their workman had to make some modifications to install the bumpers but they did a really great job overall. They also had LINE-X coat the bottom 1/3 of the truck body at my request. This area gets chipped badly due to rocks, etc.... No problem, they got it all done and at a great price. Insurance covered most of the expensive stuff. The extra stuff I paid myself and at a great price and great quality. Not a single issue. DON"T use MAACO of B&J Auto Body. I will use Kniesels from now on. You get what you pay for people. Kniesels is worth the money you pay them. Customer service was also great.

  • Brought a 2008 Dark Pearl Blue Honda 4 door civic to have some minor body repair done. They were having a sale on their enamel paint. They showed me two vehicles outside that had the same paint job and they looked good; paint was smooth with no real imperfections. It costed $100more to get the whole car painted. I agreed to the additional work for ~$100 more. I got the car home and was able to se it in a more clear light in the garage rather than bright sunlight. There were numerous dust particle imperfections and paint blemishes. I brought the car back and showed the owner/manager the problems. They quickly went on the defensive making excuses about the issues. They first stated that this is a common problem with single stage enamels that was brought to my attention at the time of the sale. Reaaly, no one told me about thses potential imperfections just that it would look fabulous. Of course he states it is written on the paperwork. Yea, the small tiny print that they chose not to emphasize. They then said they can fix it by having me pay more money for a much higher $ paint job. Really, the bait and switch.
    Bottom line
*They did not disclose the imperfection issues with single stage enamel at time of sale.
*I asked if there was anything I should know about paint or paint job at time of sale
*When confronted they tried the "Bait and Switch" routine
*The quality of work was less than average or poor and incomplete
They like to brag about how they do show car paint jobs. Really, perhaps they should stick to their core business and be honest with customers at time of sale. MAACO franchise seems to be a secondary business to them. I will not use them again and will tell my friends to go elswhere; like KNEISELs. This MAACO has done work for me before. This time the work was poor quality with "Bait and Switch"
If you need a quicK paint job to sell a car (like a dealer) or wish to spend an obscene amount of money then these are the guys for you. Go elsewhere with your hard earned money.

  • i got into a collision where the rear door of my suv was badly damaged and body frame suffered damage. Our insurance company estimated about 4400$ for the damage and felt it may go up another 1100-1200 if there is damage to the rear door panel.
t had multiple choices for bodyshop, but chose cooks collision because it was close to my home and had decent reviews on angies list and yelp. it turned out to be a good decision. Ken was the person who was in charge of my repair and he was very professional and friendly. He kept me updated on daily updates and worked with my insurance to get the approval done for the additional rear door panel work which needed another 1100 and he delivered on time as promised. As a bonus, they fixed pre-existing dents and also did detailing of interior. Overall, it went very well and I am happy so far

  • We contacted Cooks Collision in El Dorado Hills based on other recommendations we found on Angies List. Pleased to say that the entire experience was smooth and professional from start to finish. Brought the car in and had the estimator look at it and provided him with the insurance paperwork, and within a couple of days we had a call that everything was set with the insurance and we could schedule an appointment at our convenience to bring the car in. Dropped the car off on a Friday morning, signed the paperwork which was ready to go and I was on my way in under 10 minutes. They explained exactly what would be performed and what else I might expect if other damage was discovered when the bumper cover was removed for repair and repainting. Estimated that the repairs would be completed by Wednesday and they were done on time. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, courteous and professional, and the bumper looks like new, perfect paint match even though the vehicle is 12 years old. Based on my experience, I have no hesitation in recommending Cooks and I will certainly return there if I need body or paint work done on a vehicle.

  • I had 2 door dings and one other tiny tiny dent, they got all of the dents out and the body looks brand new again. Took about 40 minutes. I thought the price was a little high, but I am happy with the job they did.

  • Fantastic! They were recommended to me by USAA's insurance phone representative when I submitted my claim. They also happen to be the body repair shop by the local Mercedes dealership. I brought my car there. They were quick in the paperwork and I spoke to my representative there, she told me approximately how long it would take. The front desk clerk called Enterprise for me to come pick me up and go get my rental car. Cook's kept me up to date on the process of my car and when I got it, it looked great - like nothing had ever happened. Perfect paint match, clean lines, etc. If I ever need body work on this car again, I know where I'm going.

  • one thing i did not like.i asked for the old parts to be returned. this was in writing. it included a slightly damaged wheel.they did not return it to me. when i asked, they apologized and said they looked everywhere including the trash. could not find it. they did not offer in any way to compensate me for the wheel, which was only cosmetically damaged.i am sure one of their employees has it in his garage. or sold basically some of their employees are not to be trusted, and if one of them rips you off, you will be told "sorry" with no effort to compensate you for your loss. the question is, can you find a better shop? i do not know...maybe all body shops are like this.

  • When I went to pick up the car, the quarterpanel was repaired, but none of the other work agreed upon was done. The estimator took my word for it, ordered the repairs done at no additional cost, and offered to pick up the cost of my rental for the additional couple of days it would take. I wasn't happy about the mistake, but I was very impressed by the response. The quality of the work is excellent, and the shop is professionally run.
