Rick Caty's Drapery Installation and Blind Repair
I had purchased draperies and hardware online, and needed to have it installed. Rick contacted me, and though he was booked for the next week, managed to squeeze me in on the weekend. Arrived promptly and was very organized and knowledgeable. He went over the different options available, removed the existing brackets and patched the areas (awesome), and installed everything beautifully.

I'm extremely satisfied with the results, and am working with him to add custom cornice boxes to finish the look of the drapes. It was hard to find someone who would install drapes that were not purchased from them, and was so glad that Rick was able to do this job for me. It really makes a difference in having someone who works with window treatments for a living vs a handyman. I will use him again for future window treatments that I have in the bedroom that require custom hardware.

    Elizabeth Shutters

My only complaint with regard to this company is managing expectations. I first contacted them in mid-April. I met with the salesperson late April. She was excellent. Very knowledgeable, and had great suggestions. They had 7 or 8 shades of white. I wanted a wood stain. They had lots of choices. If you are having the wood stained, they need to use better pieces with no knots or other blemishes that could be hidden by paint. So for me, that added $700 to the price. And to me well worth it. The shutters are beautiful, beautiful.

The shutters were scheduled to be delivered May 27th following Memorial Day. Elizabeth Shutters was very clear that I needed to have the old window treatments down, furniture out of the way, etc. So I spent Memorial Day doing that. I took down curtain rods, patched holes, and donated curtains. Everything gone. The scheduler called me on the 26th to confirm the deliver of the shutter on the 26th. She is a little scattered, but we worked through it. The delivery was not the same day, but the following day on the 27th. But they were only going to deliver one shutter?? When you have a stain, they install one, you have to approve the color, then they go back and stain the rest. But I had already taken everything down and was not in a position to put anything back up.

Also the corners on the top of the frame did not come together the sides of the frame were 3/4 of an inch, and the top was 1/2 an inch. I called. They were very happy to make it right.

We scheduled delivery for June 11. As it turned out, I was not able to make that appointment and called to reschedule. They did not know when they would be in my area again (I mentioned the scheduler is a little scattered). So I had to call back two weeks later and schedule. They still did not know when they would be in Fallbrook, but agreed to schedule for July 1st.

On July 1st they were prompt, quick, clean, and did a great job. They fixed the frame from the first shutter. They installer said he knew it was wrong when he installed it, but knew he was coming back and would have it fixed. Great - you should have told me. Managing expectations.

Great job, great shutters, great value. I would hire them again now that I know how to manage the job. They should have told me about only one shutter being delivered initially. They should have told me which window would be delivered so that I only got that one window ready. They should have told me when they were installing the first shutter about the corners and that the frame would be fixed in the following visit. I began the process in mid-April. It was completed July 1st. So don't plan on a quick turn around.

TERRIBLE.  Absolutely terrible they act like a business going out of business and trying to pull a quick one.

they act like a business going out of business and trying to pull a quick one.
Back in January I was looking for plantation shutters.  The vendor had a very nice website, was listed by the BBB and Angie's List as an ?A.?  I called their number they answered the phone and made an appointment to send a sales rep to my house.  The Sales Rep (William, I do have his full name) showed up on 1/18/2014 and we contracted to do 7 windows and 2 doors.  They wanted half the cost right then and half the cost was to be collected when they cut the material.  I was promised an install date of 3/15/2014.
Next, they sent me a generic form letter in the mail (without my name on it) saying they would be 7-10 days late.  The adjusted install date came and went.  I checked their website and discovered it is no longer working, it?s just a splash screen saying ?under construction.?  I called my Sales Rep William, and found out he no longer works for the company.  He told me they were having a partner dispute. I called the company but they no longer answer their phone; instead they just have a message saying to leave you name and number.
I left a message in late March and a woman called back and had no information about my installation she only said they were ?expanding? as an excuse to the lack of business communication and inoperative website.  I was promised a call back within
3 business days and two weeks have passed and I still haven?t got that call back.  I have called their number (aka voice mail as they DO NOT answer the phone) back several more times to no avail!
This vendor is now dead to me.

The only negative was that Suncraft did not let either myself or The Blind Guys know that the company shuts down for two weeks over the holidays, so my installation was delayed longer than I had wished. Besides that, all was great, and now that they are in, we love them!

    Affordable Window Coverings
The service was fine. They were prompt, they completed the work quickly, and they came out right away when we called. We did have problems with one set of blinds and they came out the next day to repair the blinds.

I got them off Angie’s List. They were super fantastic. They were nice people. We had problems, it did not fit and they did not make them the way we wanted. We had three separate problems and they made everything good. They made sure that the company that was manufacturing them sent them back to us. The second time they sent us, we got the curtains and put them up but it was too short. It was too thin the first time, the second time they fixed the shortness but it was too narrow. However, they did the third time and they kept making them, remaking curtains for us until they got it right. For big manufacturers, little job like ours, two little curtains, matching stuff for a cabinet, was not what they did, they did whole houses. I got why our curtains were not done perfectly the first time. However, the blind people totally did their job. They made sure that we were satisfied. We visited the store and they were fine for price because we actually went to an onsite store, which was here. When you had to deal with somebody, then there was a mistake and you had to deal with them again, that was the main thing. They were pleasant to deal with, no matter what. They were extremely pleasant. Their price was fine. Their quality was excellent. I would surely use them in the future if I have to.

They did a good job. My only disappointment was that I also scheduled them to clean our cellular blinds; but when the workers arrived, they said they could not clean the kind we had, which are cordless. I would have liked to have known that up front when the work was scheduled.
