ANorth County PaversRonnie Hemphill was personable, knowledgeable and experienced. He was able to fit us into his schedule quickly and actually schedule the work within several days of our initial consultation. . Pompeo and his crew were courteous, hard-working and able to match up and re-work the new pavers in with our old ones. They went above & beyond our expectations. We highly recommend North County Pavers. Mar Gee & Jim, Fallbrook, CA- James F.

ANorth County PaversIt went very well. The crew worked so hard to get things done, and it was done correctly despite rain delays. We were helped to make decisions about the color of the payment; the owner and assistant came out with paver selections, but we ended up going to the stone yard to get extra ideas. The No. Co. Paver owner was there to help us. The way the pavers were put down actually helped to slow the rain and direct it into the drains we'd had installed. The front of the house is beautiful. We paved the "regular" part of the drive as well as the crescent drive. We had a small wall with pillars added on to mark our driveway entrances and to define a planting area. There are small LED lights indirectly shining downward toward the pavement that look just wonderful at night. The owner of North County Pavers and his assistant helped explain things and offered us options throughout the process. The grade on the driveway was corrected, and the asphalt "lumps" removed. The crew even went out with measuring tapes to check the height of the bottom of my car so it could easily go down the drive way. Now that is customer care!- Deborah M.

ASchnetz Landscape IncWow! What a company! The company owner and the project manager came out and discussed all of the problems with the property and its drainage issues. The project manager was at our home daily to walk us through the entire project, get our feedback, and help us make choices. The crew was prompt, clean, extremely hard working yet friendly. A grate was installed to catch the rain by our driveway; a rock swale with drain pipes under it was installed to direct water away from the house. The swale is also lined with beautiful plantings; it all tapers off into an area that will have more vegetation. More plantings were added to the front of the house, and the entire irrigation was reworked on the property to keep things looking beautiful. The side area against the garage where water pooled was cleared of some large plants; more rock was added to direct the water away from the garage and into existent drains. The area in the front of a bay window was reworked with drains, plantings, and rock, so there would be no more standing water after rains or irrigation. We had rain gutters, and the down spouts were redone to flow directly into yet more drains under the swale. Appropriate soil amendments were added and new plantings were put in. I can hardly wait until spring and summer to see how it all looks when it is more established. The project manager recommended a very good company to put in pavers on the driveway and hardscape around a large planting area at the top of the driveway. Probably the most difficult part of our project was a brick walkway leading from the garage to the house and also splitting off going to a crescent driveway. We knew that it needed work five years ago when we bought the house. Part of the walkway had concrete under it; other parts had nothing but dirt under them. There was a step up that did not meet the front veranda, and a large step down to the side driveway entrance. Bricks were starting to sink, stick up, and fall over. What a mess. We did not want a step over the drainage pipes to trip anyone and the walkways needed to accommodate anybody needing handicap entry. Now the brick walkways meet evenly with all parts of the driveway. The brick over the swale works like a bridge but with no steps to cause entry problems. The brick in front of the veranda slopes down, so any water flows down to the swale. And, the area where the walkway splits two ways is beautiful, creative, and artfully done. The whole walkway is so lovely it looks like a flowing brick river over a flowing swale. Truly lovely. I would recommend Schnetz Landscape, Inc., to anyone needing top notch, professional landscaping.- Deborah M.

AParker ConcreteThe experience was excellent and resulted in product that I am very happy with. Dave Parker was very helpful is assisting me with his advice on color and seeded aggregate combinations and retaining wall geometries, and methods to reduce my cost of the job.. The crew of Parker Concrete were very friendly and excellent craftsmen. They were willing to give on the spot advice and do simple changes without having to wait for change orders. They always let me know what days they would be working and were very reliable. The job cleanup was excellent. Increases in job cost due to changes was minimal and under my control..

DD E Contreras Construction
A quotation was requested on a complicated series of various concrete and block tasks.
The first representative of D E Contreras showed up promptly as scheduled. After reviewing the tasks he stated that he wanted the owner, D. E. Contreras, to review the job due to its complexity. He set up a date and time for this review. On the date of the second review I received a phone call from Mr. Contreras, two hours after the appointment time, He stated he could not make it to the job site that day, and he set up another date. Mr. Contreras never showed up for that next appointment. He did not call.
After a couple of days I called the office to ask what was happening. They said that they would talk to Mr. Contreras, set up a new date and get back to me. I never heard from D E Contreras Construction again.

ANorth County PaversThe install went well and was done on time and on budget. The pavers look beautiful after the sealant was applied. A hot tub was placed in the middle of the area. All in all the backyard now looks perfect.

ARiver Rock OutscapeThis project went well from start to finish. There was no truck access to the project site and only limited bobcat access. All demo materials (concrete and wood) had to be removed by wheelbarrow. All construction materials (underlayment sand and gravel, concrete and mortar, paving blocks, wall blocks etc) could be brought 2/3 way in (100') by bobcat and then brought to the final site (50' up hill) by wheelbarrow. Brad Garcia did not consider this any trouble at all. We set a start time and Brad called a few days prior and said his men could start a couple of days early which worked for us. Once on the job his crew appeared on time every day and worked thru the day and in some instances, worked till dusk to complete the project well within the specified time.
The demo phase went fast. The concrete patio was built in the 80's and was mostly 5+ inches thick. I was concerned that in preparing the site for the base material some existing shrub and tree roots would be cut, damaging the plants. Brad understood this and assured me that they would take care to do the least possible damage. In the end, no large root systems were cut. I removed the nails and screws from the demo'ed shed and was able to recycle much of the red wood (my neighbor took it to repair his decks). The crew removed and disposed of all the remaining wood and all the broken up concrete.
The building phase went without a hitch. We moved to CA three years ago and bought an older home on 1 1/4 acre. There has been much work done over these three years and we have had many crews from different trades working on our home, including other landscapers who paved a front walk for us with the same block material and pattern River Rock used. Brad's crew comprises some of the most capable men we have had working on our home. The guy who laid the patio block was more than meticulous in setting up the floor design and carrying it thru from compacting the base material to setting the block. It came out truly level and square. We could not have asked for a more professional job than he did. I have to say that when I saw the kid (not a day over 23 I'd bet) who was to build the 10' long 6' high block wall I was a little concerned as to whether he had the skill to do a nice job. Wow, was he good. That wall was built to last, all the rebar both vertical and horizontal, was put in place and the wall is level and square, all the joints are clean and even. He put me in my place for thinking only an older tradesman can do such good work. My hat is off to him for sure. This is just the kind of people Brad and his brother have working with them, never a disappointment.
All the men who came to work at our home on this project were competent, courteous, friendly and all went out of their way to answer any questions we had and worked with us when we added to the original contract (the 100' crushed road was an add on). An additional note worthy policy of Brad's crew is that every day they completely cleaned up the area before leaving. This included sweeping up the driveway which was used as a holding place for raw materials. Dump truck loads of crushed rock and sand piles were kept contained and the drive way was swept clean around these piles every day. Only one other crew we employed was as mindful of how important daily cleanup is to the sanity of the clients they were working for (our kitchen remodel crew). Everyone at River Rock should be proud of every aspect of this job.
(I hope Brad reads this and passes our words on to his crew.)- Carol E. -

ASouthwest Boulder & Stone (Pacific Beach)Michael at Southwest Boulder was exceptional in providing service. He applied my vision to actual product, showing me numerous rock combinations. He set up delivery while I was there, after helping me decide the amount of product I needed. Furthermore, his delivery system and men were excellent, delivering my product the following day.
